Chapter 258 Couple's Suite

Ignoring Sarah completely, Michael just stretched out his arm and gently nudged her aside.

"Don't mind me, guys. Keep having fun. I'm just here to check out my property," he said.

Sarah and Elizabeth were both taken aback.

Wait, did Michael own Crystal Oasis Retreat?

Sarah scanned the crowd and found David.

David saw Sarah's shocked expression and got the hint.

"Sarah, I swear, I didn't invite Michael," he explained.

Sarah shot back, "I asked you to pick a hotel, and out of all the places in Evergreen City, you chose this one. Did you know it was Michael's?"

David quickly shook his head. "No, this hotel wasn't owned by the Thomas family."

Michael suddenly appeared next to them, sipping a glass of wine.

"It wasn't before. As of today, it is. I just bought it, so I got here a bit late," he said casually.

Sarah sneered, "Mr. Thomas, aren't you busy? Didn't your fiancée just get out of the hospital after a miscarriage? Shouldn't you be taking care of her instead of inspecting hotels at night? Or did you kick her out because she's no longer useful without the baby?"

Before she could finish, David quickly pulled her away.

He gave Michael an apologetic smile. "Michael, she's had too much to drink. Don't mind her."

But Sarah struggled in David's arms and yelled, "Michael, you're not just a jerk! You're a scumbag and a fool! You can't even see through simple things. How do you run a business?"

Elizabeth, worried Michael might hurt Sarah, helped David pull her away.

"Sarah, stop it," Elizabeth urged.

"I'm just so mad! That woman is clearly framing you! Why does he accuse you without checking the facts?" Sarah fumed.

"If he cared, he would investigate. But it seems he prefers to believe Calla," Elizabeth replied.

"You need to stay far away from a guy like that," Sarah insisted.

Daniel and Dean heard the commotion and hurried over.

Dean nudged Daniel. "Michael's up to no good. He didn't come here with good intentions."

Daniel shrugged. "He didn't get an invite, and he's already pathetic enough. Don't badmouth him."

Dean was furious. "Badmouth him? I'm just stating facts! No one invited him, so why is he here making a scene? It's obvious he has bad intentions!"

Daniel muttered, "No wonder he asked me to buy Crystal Oasis Retreat ASAP. It was for tonight. But how did he know about the party?"

"You're really dense. Of course, David told him!" Dean snapped.

Daniel nodded. "Now the whole hotel is his. He can go wherever he wants."

Dean shook his head. "Shameless!"

Elizabeth, trying to calm down, had a drink with Sarah and suddenly remembered her kids.

"Where are Pearl and Nolan?" she asked.

"I saw them playing in the kids' area. Dean's nearby watching them. Don't worry," Sarah replied.

Elizabeth put down her glass. "Alright. I'm going to the restroom."

She left the hall and walked alone to the restroom.

As she stepped into the corridor, it got quiet.

Suddenly, she heard hurried footsteps and quickly stepped aside.

The footsteps stopped beside her, and when she looked up, she met a pair of deep eyes.

"Michael?" she said, surprised.

Elizabeth didn't expect Michael to follow her out. Ignoring him, she tried to keep walking, but he grabbed her and dragged her toward the elevator.

"Michael, where are you taking me? I need to go to the restroom!" she yelled, struggling.

"It's fine, there's a restroom in the room," he replied.

The elevator went straight to the 33rd floor. Michael pulled out a room card, opened the door, and pushed her inside.

Elizabeth looked around and realized it was a couple's suite.

"The restroom is on your right," Michael said, locking the door behind him and sitting on the sofa.

Elizabeth soon came out of the restroom and headed straight for the door. Michael watched her struggle with the lock, calm as ever.

"Why did you lock the door?" she demanded.

"For safety," he said, standing up and walking toward her.

Elizabeth backed away, scared, until she had nowhere to go and ended up sitting on the bed.

Michael sneered, "Didn't expect you to be more eager than me."

He glanced at her. "What, in such a hurry to get on the bed?"

Elizabeth pushed him away and stood up, leaning against the wall. "Michael, let me go back."

Michael came closer, gently lifting a strand of her hair. "Don't rush, we'll go back after we're done."

Elizabeth felt a chill run down her spine. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice trembling. She already had a pretty good idea.

Michael smiled, but his eyes were cold. He placed one hand on the wall beside her head and started unbuttoning her shirt with the other.

"Where did you buy this shirt? The buttons are so hard to undo. Don't buy from this store again," he said.

Elizabeth couldn't take it anymore. "Michael, stop! Let me go back! My kids are still in the hall! Sarah and the others are waiting for me to drink!"

Michael had already unbuttoned her shirt completely. He took it off and tossed it on the sofa.

"Why are you willing to drink so much with others but not with me?" he asked.

"I did drink with you," Elizabeth replied.

Michael unzipped her dress. She pushed him hard. "Get away! I need to get back to my kids."

Suddenly, she cried out as Michael picked her up and carried her to the bed, her legs kicking.

"Put me down!" she shouted.

Michael looked at her coldly. "Elizabeth, you'd better cooperate with me. That way, you can leave earlier. Otherwise, you know my..."

Elizabeth glared at him, knowing he meant what he said. She stopped struggling and lay quietly on the bed.

His body pressed down on her as she turned her head to the side, tears of humiliation streaming down her face.

Sex should be a happy thing between two people in love. But for them, what was this? At most, it was like animal mating. Just to have a child. No feelings at all.

Thinking of this, Elizabeth lay there like a corpse, indifferent to whatever Michael did to her.

Seeing this, Michael patted her face. "Elizabeth, what are you thinking? Is being with me so painful?"

She closed her eyes. "You're dirty. You slept with someone else."

Hearing this, he gripped her face tightly, forcing her to look at him. "Aren't you the same? You even had children with another man!"

Elizabeth looked at him with anger, doubt, unwillingness, and even a bit of grievance in her eyes.

Michael met her gaze and, for a moment, even wondered if her two children might be his.
