Chapter 68 I Thought You Were Here to Stand up For Her.

Elizabeth covered her left cheek with her hand, standing there silently. She had no idea what to say.

Mary waved to the bodyguards, "Get Elizabeth out of here. Don't let her near Michael again!"

The bodyguards walked up to Elizabeth and said, "Please leave the room."

Elizabeth hadn't even said a word before Mary barked orders again, "Go get the hospital director. I want the best medical team. Make sure Michael wakes up as soon as possible."

The bodyguards nodded and left.

Mary shot a glare at Elizabeth, who was still standing there, "Elizabeth, didn't I tell you to stay away from Michael? Why are you still here? Get out and don't come back!"

Elizabeth looked at Michael lying on the bed. She wanted to be there when he woke up, so he could see her first. She would tell him that she had forgiven him and fallen in love with him.

Michael had risked his life to save her.

If Michael hadn't pushed her away in time, it would be Elizabeth lying unconscious on the bed now. She must confess to him.

But Mary was relentless, and soon Michael's bodyguards returned. They wouldn't let Elizabeth stay.

Not wanting to bothering Michael, Elizabeth wiped her face, straightened her hair and clothes, and walked out of the room.

She stepped into the hallway and saw Margaret outside.

Samuel was there, too.

Margaret saw Elizabeth come out and strutted up to her, looking her up and down, "Elizabeth, where's that tough attitude you had earlier? Who was it that said only she had the right to be by Michael's side? Why'd you get kicked out so fast? Why don't you say what you said to me again to Mary?"

Elizabeth stared at her.

It seemed Margaret had called Mary and Samuel over.

Elizabeth walked up to her and asked, "Margaret, did you call Mary over?"

Margaret crossed her arms and raised her chin, "Elizabeth, since you said I had no right to be here and no standing to sign, I called over the people who do. They have the right to know, don't you agree?"

Elizabeth shoved her hands in her pockets and said flatly, "I have no objections. You did the right thing."

With that, Elizabeth walked towards the elevator.

Samuel quickly caught up and said, "I know things are a mess right now, but you really need to think about the investment in The Jones Group. Don't put it off. You might be able to wait, but the thousands of employees at The Jones Group can't, and neither can your dad's new system."

At this time, Samuel was still trying to persuade her to accept his investment. But how could she have the mood to discuss it?

Margaret chased after them, yelling at Samuel, "Samuel, whose side are you on? I'm your sister! I called you here to back me up, not to side with Elizabeth. Get your priorities straight!"

Samuel turned to Margaret, "Margaret, you go in and stay with Michael. I need to talk to Elizabeth."

Margaret shot Elizabeth a dirty look and stomped back into the room in her high heels.

Elizabeth stood in front of the elevator, waiting, with Samuel beside her. "Miss Jones, Michael also knows that I want to invest in your company. Since he can't object to our investment matters, why don't we take these few days to sign the contract?"

Elizabeth found his words odd at that moment, "Mr. Taylor, as far as I know, you and Michael have been friends for over ten years. It was my understanding that you're here to visit him?"

Samuel paused for a second, then quickly smiled, "Michael and I have a complicated relationship. It's not what you think."

Elizabeth said seriously, "Mr. Taylor, I was considering whether to accept your investment. Now I've decided, I don't want to accept it anymore."

Samuel was shocked and asked anxiously, "Why? Weren't we discussing it well before? It's beneficial for The Jones Group to accept my investment! It can help launch your father's new system and save The Jones Group from difficulties. How do you plan to pay the employees' salaries for the past few months? If you reject my investment, The Jones Group will face bankruptcy. How will you handle the severance pay? And your father invested a lot of time and money in the Super Brain system. Do you want it to go to waste?"

Elizabeth said confirmly, "Mr. Taylor, of course, I want to save my father's company. I will continue to seek investment, but..."

Before Elizabeth could finish, Samuel interrupted, "But you just don't want to accept my investment, right? Is it because of my sister Margaret?"

Elizabeth looked at him and replied, "I believe you have noticed that Margaret and I have conflicts. I don't want to have any more entanglements with Margaret's family, so I refuse your investment."

The elevator arrived.

Elizabeth walked into the elevator. Samuel followed her in.

Elizabeth looked at him curiously and asked, "Mr. Taylor, I'm leaving. Aren't you going to stay with Margaret?"

Samuel replied, "To be honest, Elizabeth, it was indeed Margaret who called me here. She thought that since Michael and I have known each other for so many years, I should come to see him. But since there are already people in his room and he's not awake, I will find myself redundant in there."

Elizabeth said, "Really? I thought you were here to stand up for her."

Samuel seemed to have heard a joke and shook his head slightly. "Do you know what you're talking about, Elizabeth? Backing her up? Does she really need me to back her up?"
