Chapter 307 Devil Silver King

The man's voice on the other end laughed arrogantly, "Ms. Jones, you don't need to talk to him. He can't even pick up the phone right now. Just get on the fastest flight here. My people will be waiting for you at the airport."

Elizabeth had calmed down. "Who are you? What do you want? What did Louis do to piss you off?"

The man sounded patient. "You already know who I am, Ms. Jones. I need you."

Elizabeth pressed on, "You're looking for me? Then why did you take Louis?"

There was a muffled groan from Louis, followed by what sounded like a kick. "His mistake was trusting others too much. His biggest error was covering for you and trying to escape."

Elizabeth's voice was steady but urgent. "You took him to get to me? What do you want from me? Do I have something you need?"

The man's voice was clear. "Ms. Jones, it's your hands that I want the most. As for Louis, he was just a convenient pawn to control you."

Elizabeth demanded, "Tell me where you are. I'll pack my things and leave immediately."

"No need for that. Someone will meet you when you arrive."

Elizabeth shouted, "Don't hurt Louis anymore! Or I won't agree to anything you say!"

The call ended abruptly. Elizabeth felt all her strength drain away and collapsed into her chair.

Sarah, who had been watching in shock, grabbed Elizabeth's hand tightly. "Elizabeth, are you okay? Who are these people? What do they want with you?"

Elizabeth snapped back to reality. "Sarah, call a driver for me. I need to get home immediately and book the earliest flight to Valoria. I have to save Louis. He's alone and must be in so much pain and despair. The kids will stay here; I can't take them into danger. Please take care of them."

Sarah helped her up and guided her out. "Don't worry, I'll stay with them until you return safely. Let's go." As they passed the front desk, she added, "Put it on my tab."

The receptionist respectfully replied, "Ms. Martinez, Mr. Thomas has instructed that Ms. Jones's meals are always on the house, no matter how many people."

Normally, Sarah might have made a joke, but today, neither she nor Elizabeth were in the mood.

Elizabeth asked for some ice packs to wrap Louis's severed finger and placed it in her bag.

When they arrived at Whispering Pines Estates, Elizabeth wasted no time and quickly packed a small suitcase.

Pearl and Nolan ran up to her. "Mom, are you going somewhere?"

Elizabeth's heart ached, but she didn't have time to explain. The situation was too violent for the kids to know about.

She knelt down, trying to stay calm. "Pearl, Nolan, I have to go abroad to find Louis. It's urgent, so I can't take you with me. Stay home and be good. Sarah will be here with you, and Dean will be back soon. Don't worry or be scared. That's all. Goodbye."

Nolan pressed his lips together, saying nothing.

Pearl's eyes filled with tears, but she didn't blink. She knew something serious was happening and didn't want to interfere. She nodded, tears finally spilling over.

Elizabeth steeled herself and walked out.

The nanny stood by the children, watching Elizabeth leave.

As she was opening the gate, Dean arrived.

Seeing her suitcase and determined expression, he paused. "Elizabeth, what's going on? Are you traveling alone?"

Elizabeth gently pushed past him. "Dean, I need to get to the airport. There's no time to explain."

Dean glanced at Sarah on the steps. "Sarah, stay here with the kids."

He quickly turned and followed Elizabeth, grabbing her suitcase. "Elizabeth, tell me what's happening. I won't stop you, but I need to be with you, to protect you."

Elizabeth stopped and looked at him. "I need to catch a flight to Valoria."

Dean opened the passenger door for her. "No need for a driver. I'll take you to the airport. Buy my ticket on the way. I have to go with you, or I won't be at ease." He waved to the driver. "I'll take over."

Dean drove them to the airport while Elizabeth bought his ticket.

Dean glanced at her. "Elizabeth, I haven't seen you this upset in a long time. What's going on? Tell me, and we'll face it together."

Elizabeth leaned back, eyes closed, recalling the events painfully. "Sarah and I were having lunch when I got an international package. Inside was Louis's severed finger."

Tears streamed down her face. "Louis is innocent. They took him to get to me." She was still overwhelmed with guilt and fear, her voice trembling.

Dean asked, "Did they contact you?"

Elizabeth nodded, then remembered he was driving and couldn't see her gesture. She said softly, "Yes, they called. I heard them hurting Louis. He must be badly injured. I heard his voice."

Dean pressed, "Who are they? Why go to such lengths to find you? Why not come to Celestria? Where are they now?"

Elizabeth shook her head, confused. "I don't know. They said someone would meet me when I land, but they didn't ask for my flight details."

She wondered, 'Could this person really be that powerful?'

She turned to Dean. "The package was signed 'Silver King.' It must be a code name. Who would use such a name?"

Dean's expression changed. "Elizabeth, you might not know, but Silver King is infamous in Valoria. His family has amassed a fortune over generations, and he has powerful connections in both politics and the underworld. No one dares to cross him. He's like a devil."

Elizabeth's worry for Louis deepened. "If Louis is in his hands, will he survive? Can he come back alive?"
