Chapter 345 Kill Her

In the PR department of STellar Enterprises, Margaret sat in her office chair, facing Octavia.

Octavia spoke cautiously, "Margaret, didn't you say Jennifer's tactics were more ruthless than Calla's? She went through all that trouble to get Elizabeth's chip, but it didn't seem to help much. Instead, it even brought new opportunities to The Jones Group. It seems like she's not that impressive after all."

"Plus, she had that scandal, and her FutureTech Robotics Group still hasn't recovered. Can she really take on Elizabeth?"

Margaret remained calm. "Whether she can or not, she'll keep trying."

Octavia was curious. "Why?"

Margaret didn't hold back. "She has a grudge against Elizabeth. This hatred won't be resolved unless Elizabeth is dead."

Octavia's eyes gleamed with a sinister light. "Then we can definitely form an alliance."

Margaret pressed her thumb to her forehead, deep in thought. "Jennifer is much more ruthless than Calla. And one more thing, she won't be controlled by us. So, while we can ally with her, we still need to rely on ourselves."

Octavia nodded. "I understand. Margaret, there are more people in this world who want Elizabeth dead than just us. That thought makes me very happy."

Margaret scrutinized Octavia's face. "If we can't kill Elizabeth, we can try other methods first."

Octavia leaned in and whispered, "Margaret, do you need me to take action?"

Margaret nodded. "Otherwise, what's the point of having that face of yours?"

She whispered something in Octavia's ear.

Octavia smiled and nodded repeatedly. Before leaving the office, she looked back at the door. "Margaret, I won't let you down."

In the CEO's office at STellar Enterprises, Michael had been busy with matters concerning Elizabeth, accumulating some work.

Matthew was sitting on the couch, looking at an invitation. "Michael, the Ramirez family's party is tonight. You must have received an invitation. Come with me."

Michael didn't even look up. "Find a date to go with you. Why ask me?"

Matthew grinned. "I don't feel safe with a woman by my side. I feel better with you there."

Michael gave him a disdainful look. "The Ramirez family has a party every year. You never cared before. Why so interested this year?"

Matthew still had a playful demeanor. "I've had some free time lately. I thought I'd check out the party and see if there are any suitable ladies. If I bring a date, the other women will avoid me. Do you think I'd give up an entire garden for one flower?"

Michael didn't even want to look at him. "Not going."

Matthew came over and pouted. "Come on, Michael, it's been so long since you went to a party with me."

Michael frowned and pushed his hand away. "Get lost. Don't disgust me. I'm not looking for a woman."

Suddenly, he seemed to think of something and looked up. "Is Margaret going?"

Matthew turned his face away, not saying a word.

Michael spoke seriously. "Matthew, don't say I didn't warn you. Margaret is a very cunning woman. Don't be fooled by her appearance. You'd better stay away from her."

Matthew's expression changed, his previous smile vanishing. "I know, she's your woman. You don't want her, but you still want to keep her around. Do you enjoy her chasing after you? You don't even like her!"

Matthew stood up and quickly left.

Michael shook his head and sighed.

Matthew was originally the son of the Anderson family in Aurora Bay, growing up pampered.

Now, the head of the Anderson family was Matthew's brother. He didn't want to work at his family's company, so he came to STellar Enterprises as the CFO.

One reason was his long friendship with Michael, and another was that he had once liked and pursued Margaret.

He had liked Margaret for many years, but she had always been indifferent. Just like Margaret had been chasing Michael for years, and he had always been indifferent.

Michael thought, 'Matters of the heart, who can really understand them?'

But he had his principles. His woman would never be as unscrupulous as Margaret.

On Friday night, Michael still accompanied Matthew to the Ramirez family's party.

Their years of friendship wouldn't be strained by a few arguments.

As soon as the head of the Ramirez family, Aiden Ramirez, saw Michael, he immediately greeted him with a smile. "Mr. Thomas, thank you so much for coming tonight. I'm honored."

Michael nodded politely. "Thank you for the invitation, Mr. Ramirez."

After a few pleasantries, Aiden went to greet other guests.

"Mr. Thomas, feel free to enjoy yourself tonight. If you need anything, just let me know. Don't hesitate."

Michael nodded.

Aiden bowed slightly and left.

Daniel stayed by Michael's side.

Matthew had already spotted Margaret in the hall. His eyes were fixed on her. He lightly tapped Michael's shoulder with his wine glass. "Michael, I'm going over there."

Daniel watched his back and shook his head. "Mr. Anderson still can't accept Ms. Taylor's rejection?"

Michael's expression was indifferent. "Don't gossip about others."

Daniel blushed and lowered his head. "Sorry, Mr. Thomas."

A waiter approached them with a tray, bowing slightly.

Michael's eyes were on Elizabeth in the banquet hall. He casually took a glass of champagne from the tray and sipped it.

Daniel glanced at the waiter's tray. His task today was to stay by Michael's side, so he didn't take any alcohol.

Instead, he went to a nearby table and grabbed an unopened bottle of juice.

Michael was a well-known figure in Aurora Bay. The business circle there knew he was hard to invite. He didn't enjoy socializing.

His presence here immediately drew people to him.

"Mr. Thomas, long time no see."

"Mr. Thomas, I heard you acquired that piece of land in the south of the city. Let's discuss a collaboration sometime?"

Michael responded absentmindedly, holding his wine glass.

There were also elegantly dressed women trying to strike up a conversation. "Mr. Thomas, could we..."

These women were clearly not here for business. Michael didn't let them finish their sentences, discreetly moving away.

His gaze occasionally swept to a certain spot.

What was she thinking, coming to a party with such a big belly and no assistant?

What if something happened?

Just as he thought that, he reassured himself, 'Nothing will happen. She'll be fine.'

Elizabeth had been bored at home lately. Nolan was still at summer camp. Pearl was still with her show.

Dean always locked himself in his room, mysteriously working on something, seemingly hiding it from her.

There were no recent crises at the company.

In short, she felt a bit aimless every day.

The Jones Group didn't have much interaction with the Ramirez family. But since they extended an invitation, she had no reason to refuse, so she had her driver bring her over.

She had seen Michael and Daniel and regretted not convincing Dean to come.
