Chapter 188 The Evil Plot

Calla couldn't help but blurt out, "Doesn't Elizabeth mean anything to him?"

Anthony just shrugged. "You think that because you don't know how they ended up married."

Calla gave him a puzzled look.

Anthony went on, "Five years ago, my uncle had a bad car accident and ended up in a coma. The doctors said he was basically a vegetable and had maybe a year to live. My grandma was heartbroken and couldn't accept it. She felt bad that my uncle's huge fortune would have no heir and that he was so young, never having experienced love, marriage, or kids. So, she brought Elizabeth into the family. That's how they got married. There was no love involved."

Calla was completely floored by this.

Who could have imagined that Elizabeth, the prized student of the renowned Professor Emily in Valoria's medical community, had once been in an arranged marriage?

And the main players in this arranged marriage were the CEOs of two big companies.

Calla didn't buy that there was no affection between Elizabeth and Michael. She had a woman's intuition.

If Michael didn't care about Elizabeth, he wouldn't have gone through the hassle of getting jewelry and diamonds designed for her.

Maybe they both had feelings for each other but just didn't realize it.

Calla was insanely jealous. "Anthony, enough about them. Let's figure out what we should do now."

Reflecting that wonderful nighe with Calla, he sat down next to her. "I'll do whatever you say."

Calla glared at Anthony. "I'm asking you what to do!"

Anthony licked his lips and hesitantly said, "I mean, maybe we should consider an abortion? If my uncle finds out, we're both toast."

Seeing Calla's murderous look, Anthony quickly changed his tune, "But your body can't handle it, so I don't know what to do. I'll do whatever you say, okay?"

Anthony looked at Calla and added, "You don't need to stress too much. If my uncle finds out, he'll only kill me, not you."

Calla stared at him.

Anthony lowered his head, "After all, you saved Eloise's life. At most, he'll break up with you, but he won't harm you or the baby. So, you're safe."

Calla thought Anthony's words made sense. "Then I'll take care of it for now and deal with it when Michael finds out."

She turned to Anthony and warned, "Keep your mouth shut. Don't say anything unnecessary."

Anthony said, "Of course, I wouldn't dare. If I say one more word, my uncle will make me disappear from this earth. Don't worry. I'm the last person who wants this news to get out."

"Michael doesn't love me, so he won't care whose baby I'm carrying. He only cares about his pride. If he finds out I'm pregnant, he'll break up with me and find another doctor for Eloise." Calla looked down at her belly. "This might be my only chance to have a child. I'm not getting an abortion unless I absolutely have to. Like you said, he won't harm me for now. So, I'm going to take a gamble. Worst case, I'll leave him with the baby. But what if Michael thinks it's his kid?"

Anthony looked at her, stunned.

He thought to himself, how could Michael think it was his child? He and Calla never slept together.

Calla said affirmative, "Next, I'll find a way to make this child legitimate and get the Thomas family to acknowledge it."

Anthony raised his hand. "I'll go along with whatever you plan. No objections here."

Calla stood up. "I'm going to the hospital to confirm. If I really am pregnant, I'll contact you. You should head home now."

Anthony nodded.

They left the amusement park separately.

To be safe, Calla went to a hospital far away for a check-up.

Calla asked the gynecologist for an ultrasound and blood test.

The doctor told her that the gestational sac in her uterus was only the size of a thumb pad.

Calla received the test results and saw the significantly elevated HCG levels.

As a doctor, she knew what those numbers meant.

Moreover, the ultrasound confirmed the presence of the gestational sac.

She was indeed pregnant.

She sat in the hospital's outpatient hall, watching the bustling crowd, thinking about her next steps.

Calla decided to find a way to make Michael acknowledge the child.

She planned to make Michael sleep with her. Only then would he not suspect her for the time being.

The question now was, how to make Michael willingly sleep with her?

He had no feelings for her. In a sober state, it was impossible.

So, she had to use external means.

With the plan in mind, Calla immediately got up and left.

She had been away from Moonlit Grove for too long.

She feared Michael would get suspicious.

Elizabeth called Dean from the CEO's office at the Jones Group. "Dean, are you at the office now?"

Dean, typing on his keyboard, replied, "Elizabeth, I'm in my office. Do you need me?"

Elizabeth said, "Yes. Stay there and don't go anywhere."

Dean laughed. "Okay, Elizabeth, I'll wait for you. It's rare for you to speak so seriously. I'm a bit scared I did something wrong."

Soon, Elizabeth arrived at Dean's office.

She turned around and closed the office door.

Seeing her close the door, Dean couldn't help joking, "Elizabeth, are we about to do something we shouldn't?"
