Chapter 278 Sharing a Woman?
Michael's eyes turned icy.
Why was Elizabeth being so gentle while chatting with Carter on the phone?
Hadn't Carter already squashed those dating rumors online?
Was that just a quick fix?
Celebrity relationships were always a mix of truth and lies. Outsiders never really knew the full story.
Even if they weren't dating now, Michael remembered the way Carter had looked at Elizabeth that day. He knew Carter had feelings for her.
Sooner or later, Carter would make a move!
Thinking about this, Michael suddenly felt the alcohol in his stomach turn into a burning fire, scorching his chest.
He glanced at Eloise, who was happily collecting seashells with Nolan and Pearl. Then, he threw down his glass, stood up quickly, and strode over to Elizabeth, who was still on the phone.
Carter was talking about Sarah's wedding the next day, specifically Sarah's request for him to sing. He asked Elizabeth for advice on a good song, and she gave him some suggestions.
Suddenly, the phone was snatched from her hand, startling Elizabeth. She turned to find Michael standing behind her.
It was early summer, and the weather was warm. But the moment he appeared behind her, Elizabeth felt a chill from head to toe.
He gripped her phone tightly, staring at her coldly.
Elizabeth couldn't believe it. Glancing around at the crowd, she lowered her voice. "Michael, are you crazy? Why did you take my phone? I was on a call! Give it back!"
Michael waved the phone in front of her, holding it out, and said, "Want it? Come and get it!"
Elizabeth glared at him and reached for the phone.
Unexpectedly, he moved his hand behind his back. Elizabeth missed and fell into his arms.
Michael took the opportunity to pull her close. Turning his head slightly, a small, almost hidden smile played at the corner of his mouth.
Elizabeth looked up at him from his embrace, still glaring. "Michael! Are you messing with me?" she asked.
His mood suddenly brightened. "Yeah, so what? Come and get it!" he taunted, holding the phone high above his head.
Elizabeth stood on her tiptoes but still couldn't reach it.
Now pregnant, the embryo still too fragile to guarantee secure implantation, she didn't dare jump.
She gave up and sat back down, saying indifferently, "If you like it so much, keep it. I'll just buy a new one."
Michael saw her disinterested expression and his good mood vanished.
He pulled her up and said, "Elizabeth, come with me."
However, she shook off his hand forcefully and said, "Say what you have to say here. I don't want to move."
Michael, suddenly furious, simply picked her up.
Elizabeth gasped, clapping a hand over her mouth to stifle any noise. She didn't want to draw attention.
She struggled in his arms, whispering, "Michael! Do you know what you're doing?"
Michael ignored her resistance, carrying her forward, and replied, "I know."
Elizabeth worried about his injury and shouted, "Put me down! You just got out of the hospital! You're not fully recovered!"
Her words soothed his almost-angered heart, and a small smile reappeared on his lips. "You're worried about me?" he asked.
Elizabeth was still fuming and snapped, "Sarah's wedding is tomorrow. I don't need you causing a scene now!"
Michael's good mood vanished instantly.
He carried her, storming off until they were inside the villa.
She was so light, it was like carrying a feather.
He carried her into the room David had reserved for him and placed her on the bed.
Elizabeth quickly got off the bed.
What did he mean by throwing her on the bed? Did he still want to sleep with her?
Michael pressed her back down and said, "Elizabeth, don't move."
Elizabeth felt exasperated. Michael almost died the last time he forced her. Hadn't he learned his lesson? Did he want to get stabbed by her again?
She slapped his hand away and said, "Is that all you think about? Seeing me only makes you think of mating?"
Her words successfully angered Michael.
His large hand gripped her neck. "Elizabeth," he warned, his voice low and menacing, "don't provoke me. It's not good for you. Remember what I said? Unless you give me a child, you have to keep satisfying my needs."
Hearing this, Elizabeth looked at him coldly, feeling hopeless.
See, this was the man she had missed for four years. All her past affection was wasted!
Did he have any feelings for her? No, just pure lust.
'Elizabeth, wake up. He has never loved you!' she thought.
Her icy stare fueled Michael's anger. He withdrew his hand, and Elizabeth coughed a few times.
Michael looked at her and asked, "Are you dating that singer Carter?"
Elizabeth turned her head away, ignoring him.
He pressed on, "Is he pursuing you?"
Elizabeth sat up, pushed him away, and walked towards the door.
He grabbed her arm and shouted, "Tell me! Are you dating him?"
She turned back, her gaze slanting towards him, and retorted, "What does it matter to you who I'm with? Who are you to me? Do you have any right to control me?"
Michael's eyes were filled with rage. "So, you really like Carter. You're dieting and losing weight to please him? Making yourself so thin, do you think that looks good?" he said.
Elizabeth frowned, confusion evident in her voice. "Dieting? Losing weight? What are you talking about?"
She couldn't be bothered to explain, unwilling to waste words on him. She continued toward the door.
Michael's grip on her arm prevented her escape. He pulled her back, and Elizabeth sat down helplessly. "What do you want?" she asked, exasperation lacing her tone.
She thought that Michael was so childish.
Michael looked down at her, his eyes full of anger, but his voice was cold. "That Carter, has he slept with you? Does he know you owe me a child? Does he know you've been sleeping with me? If he knew all this, would he still be with you?"
Elizabeth decided to disgust him, replying nonchalantly, "What do you think? He even accepts my two kids and loves them very much. What could possibly stop him?"
Michael was choked by her words.
He paused for a while before asking viciously, "Doesn't he mind sharing a woman with me?"
Elizabeth laughed instead of getting angry and asked, "And you? Don't you mind sharing a woman with another man? Don't you find it dirty?"
