Chapter 105 Why Waste Time on a Man Like Michael?
Could Michael have some business at Global Horizons International School? Had STellar Enterprises started dealing with schools now? Elizabeth couldn't wrap her head around it and decided to just drop it. Why waste time thinking about a guy like Michael anyway?
Over in the Thomas Villa, Michael was chilling in the living room.
He was deep in thought. The woman he had seen at the entrance of Global Horizons International School today looked a lot like Elizabeth.
But who was that little boy with her?
Back then, she had an abortion. Did she get married again and have a kid? Judging by Nolan's age, he was about three or four years old. Did she break up with him and immediately jump into another guy's arms? But they weren't even officially divorced yet! And she went to find another man?
The more Michael thought about it, the angrier he got.
Elizabeth, that infuriating woman, had acted like she cared so much about him and said she loved him, but betrayed him so completely.
Did she think Michael was dead? Running off to another country to get married and have kids, did she ever consider his feelings?
He was never good at expressing emotions. But he had tried his best to accommodate her. He had considered her feelings in everything he did, giving her all the love he could. He pampered her, loved her, and proposed to her. He had thought he would never love any woman in his life, but for her, he learned how to love. He learned how to live with a woman, to spend a lifetime together.
But what about Elizabeth?
She shattered the genuine heart he offered her into pieces. He had done such a foolish thing once in his life, and that was enough. He would never fall in love with another woman and expose his soft side to any woman again.
Michael suddenly thought of someone and immediately called him. "Mr. Perez, you're Elizabeth's divorce attorney, right?"
"Yes, Mr. Thomas. I am."
Michael asked, "Did you convey my wishes to your client?"
"Yes, Mr. Thomas. I spoke to Ms. Jones. She should contact you soon to meet."
Michael continued, "Soon? She returned to the country?"
"Yes, Mr. Thomas. Ms. Jones just returned not long ago."
After hanging up the phone, Michael fell into deep thought. It seemed that the woman at the school gate was indeed Elizabeth. But he didn't know why Elizabeth had been to that school.
Could it be that the child she was holding was also a special needs child?
Michael's phone suddenly rang.
The call was from Daniel. "Mr. Thomas, your real estate manager called me today. Someone was inquiring about who bought the Jones Group building back then."
Michael asked, "Who was inquiring?"
"He was the former HR manager of the Jones Group, named Ryan. He said someone commissioned him to buy the Jones Group building," Daniel said.
Michael instructed, "Commissioned? Daniel, you handle this matter fully. If Ryan requests a meeting, take care of it."
Daniel replied, "Okay, Mr. Thomas. Do you think this has something to do with Elizabeth?"
Michael didn't answer his question. He said, "Daniel, don't forget to continue following up with Ms. Johnson's student."
Daniel added, "Mr. Thomas, I am currently investigating each person on that list, looking for the right candidate. I believe there will be results soon."
Elizabeth went to choose a car. She deliberately ignored the Rolls-Royce. Her memories associated with Rolls-Royce were not pleasant. She felt that this kind of cars was actually impractical.
She stood in front of a Land Rover Range Rover.
One salesperson from the dealership staff grinned and recommended, "Miss, picking a Land Rover shows you've got great taste. Land Rover's got killer off-road capabilities and a smooth driving experience. It's powerful and stable, handling 90% of road conditions with ease. The Range Rover is one of the top luxury SUVs out there, often called the Rolls-Royce of the off-road world, which says a lot about its quality and comfort. It's a standout luxury mid-to-large SUV, with a strong presence and a plush interior, giving off a noble vibe that reflects the owner's taste. It can tackle city streets and rugged terrains alike. Whether you're picking up kids or taking the family on a trip, it's super convenient and practical..."
Elizabeth cut him off. "Why compare a good car to a Rolls-Royce? How much is this one?"
The salesperson, caught off guard, quickly replied, "240,000 dollars. Will you be paying in full or in installments?"
Elizabeth pulled out her bank card. "I'll pay in full."
The salesperson, beaming, took the card and gestured politely. "Miss, this way please. We'll handle the paperwork."
After a while, Elizabeth drove the Land Rover onto the road.
On the way, she called Sarah.
As soon as Sarah heard she was back, her excited screams filled the car. "Elizabeth! Do you know how much I missed you? If you didn't come back soon, I was going to fly out to find you! No, if you didn't come back, I would've forgotten you! So you could never find me again!"
Elizabeth chuckled softly.
Sarah was still the same, full of energy.
She laughed and said, "You wouldn't. Even if the whole world forgot me."
Hearing this, Sarah immediately started crying. "Elizabeth! Why? You didn't even come back to see me all these years."
Elizabeth replied, "But I'm back now, aren't I? Where are you? I'll treat you to coffee. I just bought a car, I'll come pick you up."
Sarah screamed again, "Elizabeth, are we really going to meet soon? Oh my God! I'm so excited. Let me tidy up and change my clothes. I'll call you back."
Elizabeth's lips curled into a smile. Hearing Sarah's long-lost voice warmed her heart. People needed to stay in touch with friends often.
Elizabeth parked the car in front of Sarah's house. She sat in the car waiting for her.
Sarah came out, looking around the street. She called Elizabeth. "Elizabeth, where are you?"
Elizabeth watched Sarah search around the villa entrance through the window. "Where are you looking? I'm in the car, the Land Rover Range Rover, right in front of your house."
After saying this, Elizabeth opened the car door and got out.
Not seeing her for four years, Sarah screamed and rushed towards her, hugging her tightly. "Elizabeth, I finally see you! I thought you had abandoned me."
Elizabeth laughed, letting Sarah hug her tightly.
Sarah glanced at Elizabeth's new car and praised it. "Oh my God! Elizabeth, you said you bought a car, I didn't expect you to buy a Land Rover! This car must be over 200,000 dollars, right?"
Elizabeth replied, "About that."
Sarah's eyes widened, "Elizabeth, did you strike it rich abroad?"
Elizabeth said, "Not really, just made a little money."
Sarah queried, "You call buying a Land Rover making a little money? I wouldn't dare buy a Land Rover even with my parents' money."
Elizabeth changed the topic. "Alright, let's go, I promised to treat you to coffee. Get in the car."
After getting in the car, Sarah praised the interior again. "Sitting in a Land Rover, the view is really expansive."
