Chapter 318 Blocking the News

Eloise fed Louis the last spoonful of chicken soup and gently wiped his mouth. "Louis, Michael's waiting for me outside. I'll come see you again soon."

Louis smiled and nodded. "Okay."

Eloise stood up, her eyes filled with reluctance. "Bye, Louis. Get well soon."

Louis waved as she left.

In the hallway, Michael was sitting on a bench, waiting for Eloise. When he saw her come out of the room, he immediately stood up. "Eloise."

Eloise walked over to him.

Michael couldn't help but notice that Eloise seemed different. She used to run up to him with a big smile whenever she saw him.

Pushing aside his doubts for the moment, he asked, "How's Louis doing? Is he feeling any better?"

He was worried that if Elizabeth asked, he wouldn't have an answer.

After all, Louis held a special place in Elizabeth's heart, one that no one else could seem to reach.

Thinking about this made Michael uneasy, yet he felt powerless when it came to Elizabeth.

Eloise found it odd. Michael had always been particularly displeased with Louis. What had changed today? Why was he so concerned about Louis now?

But Michael's change in attitude made Eloise happy. "Louis seems to be in good spirits. He should be fully recovered in a few days. He told me that he used to exercise every day, so he's not as fragile as he looks."

Michael scoffed internally. 'Not that fragile, yet he fainted from hunger? Is he faking it?'

Today was the day Elizabeth was performing surgery on Silver King.

Silver King had already been wheeled into the castle's operating room, and his medical team was waiting there.

The surgery wasn't particularly difficult for Elizabeth. She had previously assisted Emily in similar surgeries and had learned a lot from her detailed explanations during the procedures.

Looking at the non-threatening Silver King lying quietly on the operating table, Elizabeth thought he looked quite docile.

The surgery went smoothly. After it was over, Elizabeth left the operating room. Silver King's medical team stayed behind to monitor his post-operative reactions and take care of his aftercare.

Elizabeth, being pregnant, had stood still for several hours during the surgery. Now, her back and legs ached, and she just wanted to find a place to lie down and rest.

It seemed Silver King had anticipated this. As soon as she stepped out of the medical room, two maids came up to her and helped her to the nearest guest room.

The room was already prepared with delicious food for Elizabeth to enjoy. She thanked the maids and sat down to eat without hesitation.

Ever since her morning sickness had subsided, her appetite had greatly improved.

After eating her fill, Elizabeth told the maids she needed to rest and didn't want to be disturbed.

The maids respectfully left and closed the door behind them.

Elizabeth slept deeply, not knowing how much time had passed.

When she woke up, she pressed the call button by the bed. A maid entered. "Ms. Jones, how can I assist you?"

Elizabeth looked out the window. "What time is it? How long have I been asleep?"

The maid bowed her head and replied respectfully, "Ms. Jones, you have slept for a day and a night."

Elizabeth was surprised. "I slept that long? How is Silver King doing now?"

The maid replied, "He's already woken up."

Elizabeth got out of bed. "I want to see him."

The maid stepped forward to support her. "Silver King instructed that you should eat and drink something first." She helped Elizabeth to the dining table and pulled out a chair for her.

Elizabeth sat down, and the maid clapped her hands. The door opened, and a line of people entered, each carrying a tray of food.

Elizabeth was hungry now and began eating without hesitation.

After finishing her meal and freshening up, Elizabeth felt refreshed and headed to the medical room. The staff there immediately led her to Silver King's room.

Silver King, still looking a bit weak from the surgery, spoke in a low voice. "Ms. Jones, it seems the surgery was a success."

Elizabeth replied, "Silver King, it's too early to tell. We'll know for sure in a couple of days."

Silver King looked worried. "You're not planning to leave right away, are you?"

Elizabeth reassured him. "Don't worry. I performed your surgery, and I always see my patients through to the end."

Silver King sighed in relief. "That's good. I've kept the surgery a secret from the outside world. No one knows about it. So, I hope you won't contact anyone outside either. To ensure this, I've had your phone taken away."

Elizabeth nodded. "I understand. I can comply."

With the surgery successfully completed, Elizabeth had become a hero. With no outside contact allowed, she found herself with little to do in the castle.

She missed Pearl and Nolan and wondered how her children were coping without her.

The maid informed her that Silver King had said she could explore the castle if she felt bored. Elizabeth was thrilled. She had never seen the inside of a castle before.

So, with the maid and bodyguards accompanying her, Elizabeth spent the next few days exploring the castle's wonders.

Of course, there were many rooms the bodyguards told her she couldn't enter. Elizabeth didn't mind; she was there to look around, not to snoop.

Once Silver King had fully recovered, he had Elizabeth brought to his room.

Elizabeth asked softly, "Silver King, how are you feeling now?"

Silver King, with a hint of joy in his voice, replied, "Ms. Jones, you truly are Ms. Johnson's final and most important disciple. Your medical skills are remarkable. Apart from the initial post-surgery pain, I haven't experienced any of the severe headaches I used to have."

Elizabeth's heart seemed to settle. "That's good. It looks like the surgery was a success."

She stood up and said seriously, "Silver King, now that your surgery was successful, shouldn't we discuss the reward you promised?"

Silver King smiled slightly. "Of course. I promised you a lot of money."

Elizabeth continued, "Silver King, you also said you would tell me the name of the person who harmed Louis."

Silver King looked a bit helpless. "Yes, I did say that. But I value integrity in my business dealings. If I easily reveal my partners, who would trust me in the future?"

Elizabeth frowned, displeased. "Silver King, are you going back on your word?"

Seeing her anger, Silver King quickly raised his hand to calm her. "Ms. Jones, you cured my ailment, so you are my friend. Telling a friend doesn't count as breaking my word."
