Chapter 490 Robber
Elizabeth tried to keep her cool and said, "We don't even know if Quinn's kidney is a match for Eloise. We need to do a compatibility test first. If it works out, then Quinn can donate his kidney. So, after Quinn agrees, I need to take him for a check-up. If it's not a match, he can't donate."
William gave a slight smile, "Ms. Jones, technically, both Eloise and Quinn are part of the Thomas family. If any of them gets sick, it's my responsibility. But we all know Eloise ended up like this because she was trying to save your and Michael's child. So, I'll let you handle these tricky matters."
Elizabeth forced a smile, cursing him inwardly as "shameless."
Even without that incident, it wasn't likely that William would have taken good care of or helped them.
William continued sipping his coffee and cleared his throat, "Ms. Jones, since you say Eloise is still alive, then I will need to take care of both Eloise and Quinn's future lives. Have you thought about that? Eloise is your and your son's savior. Can I make some requests on her behalf?"
Elizabeth sneered internally. 'Here it comes.'
Sure enough, William wouldn't miss this opportunity.
She was already mentally prepared, so she asked calmly, "What do you want, Mr. Thomas?"
Anthony immediately got excited, "Dad!"
William held him back, signaling him to stay calm.
"Ms. Jones, Michael is your husband now, but can you make decisions for him?"
Elizabeth didn't understand what he meant.
"William, can't I give you what you want? Why do you have to go through Michael?"
William chuckled, "It's not that I look down on you, Ms. Jones. It's just that what I want, you can't give."
Elizabeth frowned. What could he want that she couldn't give? Could it be that he wanted Michael's life? That was definitely out of the question.
William spoke again, "I want 30% of Stellar Enterprises' shares. Ms. Jones, can you make that decision?"
Elizabeth was stunned. She had thought William was greedy, but she hadn't expected him to be this greedy.
If Michael gave away 30% of his shares, he would lose his voice in Stellar Enterprises.
This William had an insatiable appetite.
They didn't even know if Quinn would agree to donate his kidney, or if his kidney would be a match for Eloise. Yet William dared to make such an outrageous demand. Was he crazy?
William was still waiting for Elizabeth's answer, "So, Ms. Jones? Can you make the decision?"
Elizabeth snorted and stood up, "It seems you have no sincerity in continuing this conversation. In that case, I'll leave. Your behavior is no different from a robber."
She made a move to leave. Anthony quickly stood up to stop her.
William remained seated, confident, "Ms. Jones, I bet you'll come back to me. By then, my demand will be the entire Stellar Enterprises. Think it over."
Elizabeth turned her head, frowning, "What if Michael doesn't agree? That company is his life's work, his years of hard work. You expect him to just hand it over? William, aren't you being too shameless? After all, Eloise has nothing to do with him now. He could just stand by and do nothing."
Anthony stood by, not daring to speak.
William kept smiling, "Do you think he could just stand by and do nothing once he knows about this?"
Elizabeth took a deep breath, as if making a decision, "I can give you my Jones Group. All of it. If that's not enough, I can also give you my Innovatech Solutions abroad."
Although the Jones Group and Innovatech Solutions were the results of her and Dean's years of hard work, she believed Dean would understand her decision to save Eloise.
Hearing her words, Anthony gasped, looking excited.
William remained unmoved, "Ms. Jones, unfortunately, I'm not interested in your companies. I just want to see Michael lose everything."
Elizabeth was furious, "You should know his temper and methods! Aren't you afraid he'll just take Quinn by force?"
William squinted, "Ms. Jones, let's wait and see. Let's see if I can wait longer, or if Eloise's body can wait longer. After all, I have nothing to lose."
He finally stood up and pulled Anthony along, "Let's go, Anthony."
Elizabeth was left standing there, seething with anger.
These shameless father and son were blackmailing her.
She grabbed her bag and walked out the door, feeling lost.
Eloise's life was important. But she couldn't bear to see Michael's years of hard work taken away so shamelessly.
Her heart was filled with conflict and pain.
On the way, she almost bumped into someone. She immediately apologized, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
A hand steadied her shoulder. Michael's voice sounded above her, "Elizabeth, what's wrong? You seem troubled."
Elizabeth looked up and met his concerned gaze.
She couldn't hold back anymore and threw herself into his arms, crying, "Michael, I missed you so much. I haven't seen you in so long."
Michael smiled slightly and gently patted her back, "I went to Whispering Pines Estates to find you. You weren't there. Susan said you had left early. So I came out to look for you. I guess I got lucky and found you right away."
Elizabeth didn't doubt his words and continued to hold him tightly.
She couldn't see Michael's expression.
He stood there, his face cold.
Before he left, he had asked her bodyguard. The bodyguard said Elizabeth had instructed him not to follow her because she was just going to buy some desserts.
But so much time had passed, and she had no desserts in her hands.
Before Michael left, he had sent Ronnie to the nearest dessert shop. Ronnie called him and said Elizabeth was indeed there, along with William and Anthony.
Why did she keep meeting with the Thomas family father and son after returning to the country?
What were they discussing? What was she hiding from him?
And it seemed she didn't want him to know.
Michael's fist clenched involuntarily.
Maybe he should choose to trust her.
Even if Elizabeth was deliberately hiding something from him, it should be something trivial.
Or maybe she would tell him later.
They were newlyweds. How could Michael doubt Elizabeth?
