Chapter 320 She Was Truly Crazy
Elizabeth put her phone away. "What? You didn't think it was me? You know I'm Ms. Johnson's final and most important disciple. Why wouldn't you think of that? Or are you just clueless?"
Calla shook her head frantically. "No way! It can't be you! You're not that strong! How could you be stronger than me?"
Elizabeth slammed the table, making Calla jump and yelp.
"Calla! If you think I'm not that powerful, why did you recommend me to Silver King? You thought I couldn't cure him, and he'd kill me, right?"
Calla was already panicking, shaking her head repeatedly. "I don't know, I really don't know."
Elizabeth stared at her. "Your plan was to use Silver King to get rid of me, to have me die quietly in a foreign land, right? You're truly vicious!"
Calla feigned ignorance, her eyes darting around. "Silver King? What Silver King? I have no idea what you're talking about."
Elizabeth tilted her head slightly. "See the bodyguards behind me? Didn't you notice they have Valorian faces? Silver King sent them to protect me. Guess how I found out you betrayed me?"
Calla still struggled. "I don't believe you. Hiring a couple of Valorian bodyguards isn't that hard!"
Elizabeth was prepared. She opened her phone's gallery and enlarged a picture of a check. "Take a look. What is this?"
Calla saw it was a photo of the check Silver King's subordinate had given her as a reward for providing information on Elizabeth. She couldn't believe Silver King had even told Elizabeth about this.
Calla glanced at the two bodyguards behind Elizabeth. She was no match for them. Otherwise, how could a pregnant Elizabeth have forced her into this situation?
Calla clutched her handbag, cold sweat forming on her forehead. "What do you want?"
Elizabeth leaned back slightly, raising an eyebrow. "I told you from the start, $2 billion, not a penny less."
Calla lowered her head. "I don't have that kind of money. I can't raise that much in such a short time."
Elizabeth sneered. "That's your problem. Why should I help you figure it out? My patience is limited. If I don't see $2 billion in my account within 24 hours, I don't know what other measures I'll take. Maybe I'll send a video to Michael, let him know you've been playing him. How about that?"
Calla shot up from her seat. "I'll figure it out right now!" She hurriedly left the restaurant.
Elizabeth remained seated. This was exactly the effect she wanted.
Calla's money was all tied up in FutureTech Robotics Group. To raise $2 billion, she'd have to go to Jennifer.
After FutureTech Robotics Group's stock plummeted, the company was severely weakened, and their liquid assets were likely depleted. Jennifer wouldn't have the money to give Calla.
Elizabeth was eager to see how the two would fall out.
She leisurely finished her juice and signaled to her bodyguards. "Let's go."
At FutureTech Robotics Group, Calla rushed into Jennifer's office.
Jennifer was surprised to see her. "Calla, why didn't you call ahead? You look like you've been chased by zombies."
Calla didn't waste time with pleasantries and sat directly on the sofa opposite Jennifer.
"Jennifer, we lost."
Jennifer looked puzzled. "Lost what?"
Calla held her head. "Elizabeth! She's back! Silver King didn't kill her! He let her go!"
Jennifer was also taken aback. "I haven't heard anything about Silver King accepting treatment. How is she back? Did she cure him?"
Calla shook her head. "Don't ask me. I don't know. All I know is she's back, and she has Silver King's bodyguards with her. She's demanding $2 billion from me."
Jennifer's eyes widened. "$2 billion? Why doesn't she just rob a bank?"
Calla looked up at her. "Because she knows I have exactly $2 billion."
Jennifer eyed her warily. "Calla, you're not thinking of getting money from me again, are you? I've told you, the company hasn't recovered yet. We have almost no orders recently. I don't have the money to give you."
Calla roared. "Jennifer, I've tolerated you long enough! Every time you wanted to go after Elizabeth, I cooperated. But have you ever succeeded? You've been holding onto my money, not returning it. Are you trying to drive me to my death?"
Jennifer quickly tried to calm her. "Calla, calm down. I'm not intentionally withholding your money. I really don't have it. Even if you sold me, you wouldn't get $2 billion!"
Calla coldly stared at her. "Call your CFO. I want to ask him myself."
Jennifer, helpless, dialed the internal line. "Send Mr. Dobbins to the CEO's office."
Soon, FutureTech Robotics Group's CFO, Valentin Dobbins, appeared before them.
Jennifer asked, "Mr. Dobbins, how much money do we have left in the company's accounts?"
Valentin lowered his head, replying helplessly, "Ms. Johnson, we have a few tens of millions left."
Jennifer nodded. "Okay, I understand. You can go."
Valentin left.
Jennifer turned to Calla. "You heard him. I really don't have the money to give you."
Calla stood up and walked towards her. "I don't care. I want my money. I don't care how you get it. That's your problem."
Elizabeth's words to her earlier, she now used on Jennifer.
Jennifer looked at her with displeasure. "Calla, why are you being so unreasonable?"
Calla had already moved behind her. At some point, a small knife appeared in her hand. The knife was now pressed against Jennifer's neck.
Jennifer felt the cold blade and was startled. "Calla, what are you doing?"
Calla's cold voice rang out. "Jennifer, get $2 billion into my account quickly. As a doctor, I know exactly where your weakest points are. If I apply just a little pressure, you'll bleed out and die. Want to test it?"
Jennifer was terrified. "Calla, are you crazy?"
Calla, looking deranged, replied, "Yes, I'm crazy! Driven crazy by you all! A madwoman can do anything!"
Jennifer, feeling the knife's pressure, said, "Move the knife away a bit, and I'll call the finance team."
Calla didn't listen, pressing the knife closer, causing Jennifer to feel a sharp pain.
Jennifer dialed the finance department. "Tell Mr. Dobbins to prepare $2 billion and transfer it to Ms. Griffin's account, no matter what it takes."
Calla withdrew the knife and left expressionlessly.
Jennifer clutched her injured neck, breathing heavily.
This Calla was truly insane.
