Chapter 525 Memory Erasure Technique

Michael suddenly turned around and gave Elizabeth a once-over. "Who are you?"

His brow furrowed, eyes clouded with confusion. "Should I know you?"

Elizabeth swayed slightly, grabbing the table beside her to steady herself.

She tried to keep the tremor out of her voice. "Michael, have you forgotten me? I'm Elizabeth! Your wife! The mother of your three kids!"

Michael's brow furrowed deeper. "Oh, right. You're Elizabeth. The mother of my kids... and my enemy. You took my company shares."

He slowly approached Elizabeth, his voice cold and emotionless. "You got some nerve showing up here. Aren't you scared I'll kill you?"

Elizabeth hadn't expected this reaction from him.

She instinctively took a step back.

Michael kept advancing. "Elizabeth, you better be smart about this. Today's my wedding reception with Cordelia. I don't care how you got an invite. If you know what's good for you, leave now. I don't want a scene."

Elizabeth's face turned pale, her voice shaking. "Cordelia's your wife, but what about me? What am I to you?"

Michael stared at her coldly. "All I know is you're my enemy. Cordelia is my legally wedded wife."

Elizabeth felt all hope drain from her. She remembered their marriage hadn't been officially registered.

She refused to give up. "Are you gonna stay with the Murphy family forever? Never come back to Aurora Bay? What about your kids? Are you never gonna see them again?"

Michael's expression didn't change. "I married Cordelia, so I'm her husband. Her father took me in, so I owe him my loyalty and will stay with the Murphy family. As for the kids, since they're mine, I'll come back for them someday. Everything that was originally mine—"

He stared coldly at Elizabeth. "I'll get it all back, with interest."

Elizabeth's eyes filled with tears. "Michael, you can forget me and hate me. But what about Eloise? Are you gonna abandon Eloise?"

Michael's expression faltered, as if he was trying to remember something. "Eloise?"

Elizabeth nodded frantically, speaking quickly. "Yes! Your sister Eloise. You can't have forgotten her. She was the most important person in your life. I did all of this for her. Eloise didn't die; she has kidney failure and urgently needs a transplant to survive. I went to find Quinn. William and Anthony blackmailed me, demanding your Stellar Enterprises shares in exchange for Quinn. I had no choice but to agree. I didn't tell you about it—that was my mistake. I kept it from you."

Elizabeth seemed afraid Michael would leave at any moment, so she continued quickly. "I don't know where you got your information. You transferred the shares to Quinn yourself. After that, you disappeared from my life. You didn't answer my calls or messages. You didn't reach out to me. I was busy getting Quinn to Eloise for her surgery. I didn't have time to explain everything to you. I was afraid that if the surgery didn't go well and Eloise didn't survive, it would be another heavy blow to you. I didn't want you to have hope only to be deeply disappointed. I wanted to surprise you. I wanted to save Eloise and bring her back to you, whole and healthy, to make you happy."

"Michael, things didn't go as I expected. It's not what you think. I never betrayed you. I never wanted to leave you. As for your Stellar Enterprises shares, Quinn signed the transfer documents before going into surgery. Since we couldn't reach you, I've been holding onto them for you. Once we find you, I can return them to you anytime. The company you founded is still yours. No one can take it from you."

Elizabeth finished speaking quickly, looking nervously at Michael.

Michael stared at her, his expression indifferent, as if her words meant nothing.

He glanced coldly at Elizabeth. "Elizabeth, save your sweet talk. I don't believe a word you're saying."

Michael's hand lightly touched Elizabeth's shoulder, making her think he had softened.

But the next moment, his cold words cut through her hope. "To me, you're nothing. Don't try to get my attention. I'm married now. My wife is beautiful, gentle, sweet, and lovely. You can't compare to her. As for the shares you took, I'll get them all back someday. It won't be hard. You're not my match."

Michael finished speaking, gave Elizabeth a contemptuous smile, and walked away.

Elizabeth couldn't hold herself up any longer and slid down the table. A bodyguard quickly stepped forward and caught her.

"Ms. Jones, have some dignity, will you?"

Elizabeth couldn't hold back her tears. "Don't you think he's completely changed? He's not the Michael I know! The Michael I know would never hurt me. He wouldn't have the heart to break mine."

In a room on the second floor of the yacht, Gerald sat by the window, watching everything in the banquet hall.

An assistant stood respectfully beside him. "Mr. Murphy, it seems Michael has truly given up on Elizabeth. He'd rather hurt her than acknowledge her. Does this mean our procedure was successful?"

Gerald nodded with satisfaction. "It seems he really doesn't love Elizabeth anymore. As long as Cordelia works hard to make Michael fall for her, he'll be useful to me."

The assistant smiled. "Mr. Murphy, this will make you even more powerful. The position of future head of the Murphy family is yours."

Gerald laughed triumphantly. The assistant handed him a cigar. He took it, stood up, and walked away from the window.

At the same time, Michael's gaze briefly swept over the upstairs room.

When he looked at the people in the banquet hall, it was as if nothing had happened.

He walked towards Cordelia, a faint smile on his face.

Not far from Michael, Elizabeth watched him with tears in her eyes.

The bodyguard tried to console her. "Ms. Jones, you're being too stubborn. You have so much wealth now. You could find any man you want. Why stick with someone who doesn't want you? What's so great about Michael?"

Elizabeth didn't respond, holding onto the table.

Two women chatting with wine glasses nearly knocked her over as they passed by.

Elizabeth let out a small cry.

Michael's hand tightened around his glass, unnoticed by Elizabeth.

Elizabeth didn't notice Michael's reaction, as she was stunned by the conversation of the woman next to her.

"Did you hear? Cordelia's new husband actually has a wife. He was injured and in a coma, and the Murphy family's doctors performed a memory-clearing procedure on him."
