Chapter 447 Business Trip
Clio took a step closer to the man, scrutinizing his face.
Unfortunately, the man had already been beaten black and blue by the bodyguards.
Clio shook her head. "Maybe he just looks a bit like him. It's been so many years, and I haven't seen that person in a long time."
After saying this, she stepped back to Michael's side.
At that moment, the man on the ground looked up at Clio. His eyes widened, and he shouted, "Clio! It's me! I'm Jesse! Do you remember me?"
Clio was startled.
Ever since she started taking care of Eloise, she had left the Thomas family old mansion. Over the years, she hadn't interacted with many people.
She took another step forward, standing in front of the man, examining him closely. "Are you really Jesse?"
"Where have you been all these years? Weren't you kicked out? Judging by your clothes, you seem to have done well for yourself. Why are you back to disturb Mr. Thomas' life?"
"Jesse" grinned, revealing a sinister smile. "Disturb him? How can you call it disturbing? I'm just here to check on him. Can't I care about him?"
Clio frowned. "Jesse, you were just a driver at the old mansion. You used your looks to flirt with the maids and messed around with many women, causing chaos in the Thomas family. That's why you were kicked out."
"Why are you back now? Are you struggling outside and looking to take revenge on Mr. Thomas? Let me tell you, if you're having a hard time, it's your own fault. It has nothing to do with Mr. Thomas!"
Michael felt a slight stir in his heart upon hearing Clio's words.
Why didn't he have any memory of this person?
But he felt like he had seen that face somewhere before.
Could it be that he was kicked out before Michael was born?
"Jesse" suddenly stood up, agitated. "Clio, you're so wrong! One day, you'll understand that my connection with him is far more than just a little!"
He stared at Michael's face, smiling maliciously. "My connection with him is huge!"
Michael felt an intense disgust as he met his gaze.
"Jesse" continued to brazenly survey the villa's interior, arrogantly saying, "Clio, just wait and see. One day, he might give me this villa."
Clio's eyes widened. "You must be crazy!"
Michael pulled her behind him. "Clio, stand back."
"Jesse" threw his head back and laughed. "Michael, are you hiding something?"
Before he could finish laughing, Michael punched him to the ground.
With his hands tied, Jesse couldn't move easily and fell hard to the floor, his face pressed against the ground, his nose burning with pain.
He turned his face to look at Michael.
Standing tall in front of him, Michael looked down at him with utter contempt.
"Nico, throw this piece of trash out! As far as possible!"
Michael took the wet wipe Clio handed him and carefully wiped his hands, coldly instructing the bodyguard.
Nico Hill obeyed immediately, grabbing Jesse with one hand and dragging him out.
Jesse's screams echoed. "You're Michael's bodyguard, right? Ah! Let go of me! It hurts! Ah! Be gentle! You'll regret this! Ah!"
Finally, the noise faded away.
Michael sat on the sofa.
"Clio, was that man really from the Thomas family old mansion?"
Clio cleaned the dirt off the floor as she replied, "Mr. Thomas, if I remember right, his name is Jesse Reed. He used to be your dad's driver. He got kicked out for stealing and messing around with the maids, especially the housekeeper. That's why he was expelled."
Michael frowned, trying to recall. He didn't remember his father having a driver like that.
Clio warned him, "Mr. Thomas, Jesse's bad news. He's a scoundrel. If he's come looking for you, it's definitely to ask for money. Don't be soft-hearted and agree to anything. He's a leech. Once he latches on, you won't be able to shake him off!"
Michael nodded. "Got it."
He stood up and walked towards the bathroom. He needed to wash off the feeling of that man from his hands.
He had punched that man's face earlier.
"Clio, open all the windows in the living room. Air it out. The smell is awful."
He instructed as he headed to the bathroom.
Clio immediately responded, "Yes, Mr. Thomas."
She and the maids began opening the windows one by one.
Fortunately, the weather had warmed up, and although it was night, the temperature wasn't too low.
On Monday, Elizabeth arrived at the office.
In the morning, Dean came to her office.
"Elizabeth, you just started, and you already need to go on a business trip."
He handed her a file.
Elizabeth took it and opened it. "The Adams Group?"
She looked at Dean. "When was this contract signed?"
Dean sat on her desk. "Before you started. But this is just a preliminary agreement. The formal contract still needs your signature. They want you to go to their headquarters to sign it in person."
Elizabeth continued to read the file. "The address is in Morning Glow District? That's far. I won't be able to return the same day."
Dean said, "No problem, I can go with you. I've done some research. Morning Glow District is a newly developed tourist area, and it's quite popular. The scenery is beautiful, and the climate is pleasant."
"One of their main attractions is their glass houses. These houses are built on the mountains, and you can see the stars at night. Their accommodation services are largely run by robots. Meals and hotel services are all arranged based on the guests' requests."
Elizabeth nodded. "No wonder they need so many robots."
"Exactly, Elizabeth. This is a big order. I bet you don't want to lose this major client, right?"
Elizabeth hesitated. "Dean, I know about this tourist area. It's still under construction, right? Not fully operational yet?"
"Morning Glow District is divided into several parts. The area you're thinking of is the northern mountains. Don't worry, your stay will be in the southern mountains, which are already completed."
Elizabeth closed the file. "Alright. I'll leave early tomorrow."
Dean stood up. "Great. I'll book the tickets."
As Dean left, he received a message from Daniel: [Dean, I might not be in Aurora Bay for the next few days.]
Dean quickly replied: [Where are you going?]
Daniel responded: [I have to accompany my boss on a business trip. He's going to Morning Glow District. There's a hotel design project there that he wants to oversee personally.]
Dean's eyes widened. [Morning Glow District?]
Daniel asked: [What's wrong? Is there a problem?]
Dean replied: [Morning Glow District itself isn't the issue. It's just that Elizabeth is also heading there tomorrow morning.]
