Chapter 316 Don't Touch My Woman

Silver King looked troubled. "Well, that's a tricky one. This person is my partner, after all. It wouldn't be very polite to sell out a partner just like that."

Elizabeth rolled her eyes internally. 'You already kidnapped Louis, and now you're worried about manners?'

Silver King seemed to make up his mind. "Ms. Jones, if you cure my illness, I promise to tell you who that person is when I wake up. After all, as you said, they doesn't respect me. They might be hiding somewhere, feeling smug right now."

Elizabeth knew she couldn't push him too hard. This old man wasn't someone who could be easily forced. She said, "Alright, then can we contact Michael now? Let him arrange for Louis to be sent back home."

Silver King nodded. "No problem. I'll arrange it."

Elizabeth insisted, "I need to call him myself."

Silver King clapped his hands, and a servant appeared from the shadows. "Sir?"

Elizabeth thought to herself, 'So there were people hiding in the dark. Good thing I didn't try anything earlier.'

Silver King instructed, "Bring Ms. Jones her phone."

The servant quickly brought Dean's phone. Elizabeth opened it and dialed Dean's number.

Dean answered almost immediately. "Elizabeth, you finally called! You have no idea how worried I've been."

Elizabeth glanced at Silver King and said, "I know. Is Michael with you?"

Dean replied, "He's here. Do you want to talk to him? We're working on a plan to get you out. Michael has hired some mercenaries from Valoria, and it must have cost him a fortune. I'm hacking into Silver King's surveillance system. Once I get in, we'll rescue you."

Elizabeth glanced nervously at Silver King and coughed lightly. "Dean, Silver King is right next to me."

Dean shouted, "Elizabeth, what has he done to you? Has he threatened you?"

Elizabeth felt a bit awkward. "No, he just wants me to treat him. He's agreed to let Michael take Louis back for treatment."

Dean said, "Hold on, I'll get him."

Soon, Michael was on the phone. "Elizabeth."

His voice was as deep and rich as ever, but now it had a hint of hoarseness.

Hearing his familiar voice, Elizabeth suddenly felt at a loss for words. Silver King urged, "Ms. Jones?"

Michael heard the unfamiliar man's voice and frowned. "Is Silver King with you?"

Elizabeth replied, "Yes, he wants you to take Louis back home for treatment."

Michael said, "That's fine, but I need to ensure your safety first."

Elizabeth reassured him, "I'm safe."

Michael's voice carried a calming strength. "My people have checked on Louis. He's not seriously injured, just malnourished. I'm here to bring you back safely."

Elizabeth explained, "I promised Silver King I would treat him. I can't leave until I finish his surgery."

Michael, worried that Silver King might deceive and harm Elizabeth, said seriously, "Don't be afraid. The castle is surrounded by my men. Most of Valoria's mercenaries are here. If you're in danger, find a way to signal us, and they'll rush in to save you."

Silver King couldn't hold back his displeasure. "Mr. Thomas, please consider my presence."

Michael's voice grew louder. "Your reputation is too bad for me to trust you."

Silver King touched his nose and fell silent.

Michael threatened, "Silver King, understand this: the woman next to you is not someone you can bully."

Silver King laughed and said, "I have no interest in women who have been with other men, especially those carrying another man's child."

Michael shot back, "Good to hear!"

Elizabeth was stunned. How did Silver King know she was pregnant?

There was a knock on the study door. "Sir."

A servant brought in Silver King's medical reports and placed them on the table next to Elizabeth, then quietly left.

Elizabeth continued speaking to Michael, her voice steady. "I'll study Silver King's treatment plan. Please make sure Louis gets home as soon as possible."

In Celestria, within the Whispering Pines Estates at Aurora Bay, Eloise and Sarah were playing in the sandpit with Pearl, building sandcastles.

Pearl asked worriedly, "Sarah, why hasn't my mom come back yet? Why hasn't she called? I miss her so much!"

Eloise replied, "I miss Michael too. He's never been away this long."

Sarah looked curious and asked Eloise, "Eloise, have you lived with Michael since you were little?"

Eloise thought for a moment. "I'm not sure if it was since I was little. I can't remember much from my childhood. But as far back as I can remember, Michael and Clio have always been with me."

Pearl suggested, "Let's call Michael!"

Eloise agreed. "Good idea. We can ask about Louis and Elizabeth."

Eloise dialed Michael's video call.

The call connected quickly. "Eloise."

"Michael, how are things over there? Is Elizabeth in danger?"

"I just spoke with her. She should be safe."

Eloise asked, "What about Louis?"

Michael replied, "Louis is still in the hospital. He's a bit malnourished. The doctor said he needs fluids to recover."

Eloise frowned. "How did he get malnourished?"

Michael explained, "He was on a hunger strike, trying to starve himself. It didn't work. Where's Pearl?"

Pearl, hearing her name, immediately popped her head into view. "I'm here!"

Michael's heart softened at the sight of Pearl's sweet face. He smiled at her. "Pearl, don't worry. Your mommy will be home soon."

'And so will I,' he thought, but didn't say it out loud, fearing rejection.

Sarah, with a commanding tone, said, "Michael, you must bring Elizabeth back safely."

Michael, with a hint of self-mockery, said, "She doesn't seem to need me much right now."

Sarah was shocked. "What?"

Michael explained, "She agreed to treat Silver King. She even seems willing, not like she's being forced."

Sarah's eyes widened. "Is Elizabeth crazy? That Silver King is a ruthless killer, according to David. Isn't she scared?"

Michael said, "All we can do now is trust her."

Sarah looked worried. "Alright. But I still can't help but worry about her being there alone."

Nolan walked over, looking at them.

Sarah waved him over. "Nolan, come here."

Nolan approached, looking puzzled. "Sarah, what are you doing?"

Eloise replied, "We're talking to Michael."

Nolan's face immediately turned cold, and he walked away.

Michael saw Nolan's quick change in expression and his retreating back. He thought, 'Nolan has such a deep grudge against me! I'll have to work hard to get Nolan to accept me as his father. What a headache!'
