Chapter 460 Blackmail
Philip was just about to approach the reception desk to ask for Michael when the receptionist, a stunning young woman, completely ignored him. She straightened up, her eyes bright as she looked past him and respectfully called out, "Mr. Thomas!"
Philip froze. There was only one person who would be addressed as "Mr. Thomas" here.
He quickly turned around and saw a tall figure surrounded by a crowd, heading towards the revolving door.
He shouted, "Michael!"
Philip felt lucky today. If he hadn't run into Michael downstairs, he wouldn't have had a chance to see him. The receptionist would never have let him go up.
The group heading out all turned their heads at his shout.
After all, this was STellar Enterprises, Michael's domain. Who would be so rude as to call him by his first name?
Michael frowned and looked over.
Philip saw his face clearly and was stunned.
Jesse was right; Michael's face looked so much like Jesse's that there was no need for a DNA test.
He walked over, his palms sweating, his voice trembling, "Michael, my father Jesse asked me to tell you something. Please come with me."
A bodyguard stepped in front of him, "What do you want?"
Michael heard the name "Jesse" and his face showed disdain. He scoffed and turned away without saying a word.
Outside, Jesse had already seen Michael leaving.
Philip walked down the steps, looking defeated.
Jesse approached him, "Couldn't get a word in?"
Philip nodded.
Jesse patted his shoulder, "It's okay. I have a plan. Follow me."
They drove to the vicinity of the Thomas Villa, avoiding the cameras at the entrance.
Jesse had rented a house nearby to freely access this wealthy neighborhood. Otherwise, they wouldn't even be able to get past the gate.
Jesse looked towards the entrance of the Thomas Villa, "We'll wait for him here. I don't believe he won't come home."
At night, a bright light appeared on the main road.
A Rolls-Royce stopped at the villa entrance.
The driver ran to open the door.
Jesse seized the moment, grabbed Philip, and ran towards Michael.
In the darkness, bodyguards suddenly appeared from nowhere. Nico and Ronnie each kicked the sneaky father and son to the ground.
Michael looked at the two men writhing on the ground under the streetlight, "I've seen you two before."
Jesse shouted, "You heartless bastard! Is this how you treat your father? Tell them to let me go!"
Michael walked over and kicked Jesse hard in the chest, "Where did these vagrants come from? Spouting nonsense at my door!"
His face was cold as he looked at Nico, "How are the security personnel monitoring the cameras? How are they guarding the gate? How did this man get in front of me a second time?"
Nico hung his head in shame. After all, he was responsible for training the security personnel. Today, his men had failed.
Philip struggled and shouted, "Michael! Don't insult him! Insulting him is the same as insulting yourself!"
Michael laughed in anger. He walked up to Philip, his fingers like iron clamps, gripping Philip's jaw. "I saw you on the first floor of the company today."
Philip stared at him, "Let us go. Find a quiet place; my father has something to tell you."
Michael scoffed, "Why should I listen to you?"
Philip's eyes were cold, "What my father has to say, I bet you wouldn't want a third person to know."
Michael thought for a moment and waved to the bodyguards.
Nico and Ronnie released their grip. Jesse and Philip collapsed to the ground like dogs.
Michael stood over them, hands on his hips, "It's quiet enough here. Speak."
Jesse hesitated, "Michael, think carefully. This matter concerns your lineage. Are you sure you want outsiders present?"
Michael sneered, "Just say it! Stop stalling!"
Jesse forced a smile and stepped forward, "Michael, I'm your father!"
Michael's eyes widened, "I told you to speak, not to spout nonsense!"
Philip's face was cold, "He's not lying. You are his son. You're not from the Thomas family. You don't have any noble blood. You shouldn't look down on him."
Michael's eyes narrowed.
The bodyguards knew this was a sign of their boss's anger.
Philip quickly said, "Don't get angry at us. This idea wasn't my father's; it was your adoptive mother Mary's. She gave her biological son to our father and took you away."
Michael felt a chill all over.
Mary wasn't his biological mother? But in his memory, although he and Mary weren't particularly close, she had always loved him.
Michael thought of one thing: if Mary loved him so much, why did she specify in her will that seventy percent of her estate would go to William and the remaining thirty percent to Anthony?
Mary had explained to him that he already had STellar Enterprises, and the entire Thomas group was worth little to him. William was weak, and Anthony had no skills. Mary worried that after her death, William and Anthony would starve, so she left the estate to them.
Was that really the truth?
Philip saw Michael's silence and knew he was doubting his own lineage.
"Michael, if you don't believe us, I can accompany you for a DNA test. Once the results are out, everything will be clear."
Michael slowly asked, "Why should I follow your instructions? Why should I believe what you say? If everyone came to my door and said this, should I do a DNA test every day?"
He glanced at Jesse, "According to you, since you made a choice back then, why are you here now? Don't you feel ashamed?"
Jesse was indifferent, "Ashamed? Who has a grudge against money? If you give me a billion dollars a month, I can choose to keep quiet. You can continue being the Thomas family heir and the CEO of STellar Enterprises. My son Philip and I can live well. Everyone wins."
Nico and Ronnie stood by, their faces full of anger, ready to beat him.
Michael pushed them aside, walked up to Jesse, and kicked him hard in the chest again.
Jesse wailed, "Michael! You bastard! You're really a lowlife born of a barmaid! I told you, I'm your biological father, you jerk!"
