Chapter 393 His World Collapsed

Could this blood really be from Eloise?

Did Louis take Eloise to donate blood?

Elizabeth was filled with uncertainty.

Was Michael going to unleash all his hatred for Louis and his worry for Eloise on her now?

She steadied herself against the wall, her face pale and expressionless as she looked at him. "I'll call Louis."

If something had happened to Eloise, even if Francis' condition improved, he would never forgive her.

After all, in his mind, Louis would do anything for her.

She mechanically dialed Louis' number, but the system indicated that the call couldn't go through.

She tried again and again, but it was always the same message.

She looked down, helpless. "I can't reach Louis."

Michael sneered. "He's probably on the run, isn't he? After causing such a mess, wouldn't he flee as fast as he could? Or is he waiting for me to clean up his corpse?"

Elizabeth struggled to keep her emotions in check. "Michael, calm down. Let's find Eloise first. We need to see if she really donated blood to Francis."

She paused, then continued, "If she did... we need to confirm her condition and get her medical help immediately. Otherwise, given her health, she could be in serious danger."

Michael couldn't contain his fear any longer and roared at Elizabeth, "There's no need to confirm anything! It has to be her! How many coincidences can there be? How many people in Aurora Bay have Rh-negative O-type blood?"

"And both she and Louis are missing! Elizabeth! I'm telling you, if something happens to Eloise, I'll send Louis to hell! I won't spare the Cox family!"

Elizabeth stood there, unable to say a word. She felt as if all the blood in her body had turned cold, like she was submerged in icy water.

Of course, she didn't want Eloise to donate blood. She had made it clear to Eloise that her health couldn't handle it.

But now, it had already happened. What could she do?

She was exhausted. Her heart was even more tired.

A doctor, hearing the commotion, came over to intervene, but Michael stormed off in a rage.

Elizabeth slumped into a chair, knowing he would never come to see Francis again.

Maybe it was for the best. Raising three kids on her own might be better.

A father with such unstable emotions wasn't what the children needed.

She covered her eyes with her hands, not wanting anyone to see her tears.

She mocked herself in her mind, 'Elizabeth, see? Every time you try to trust him, rely on him, he hits you hard.'

She nodded firmly, 'It's time to learn your lesson.'

But Eloise, she felt sorry for Eloise.

Days of worry, anxiety, the constant running around after giving birth, and Michael's recent accusations had finally broken her.

Elizabeth collapsed.

A bodyguard rushed over immediately. "Ms. Jones!"

When Elizabeth woke up, she was in a hospital room.

She noticed the IV in her hand, looked around in confusion, and asked the bodyguard beside her, "Why am I here?"

The bodyguard respectfully replied, "Ms. Jones, you fainted. The doctor said you're malnourished and need rest."

Elizabeth glanced at the IV bottle, which was already half empty. She pulled out the needle, threw off the covers, and got out of bed. "Let's go. I have a lot to do."

The driver took her to Louis' apartment. She rang the doorbell countless times, but no one answered.

Frustrated, she went to the security booth. The guard told her that Louis hadn't been back.

Where could Louis have gone? Where would he take Eloise?

Did Louis force Eloise to donate blood?

Elizabeth didn't believe Louis would do such a thing. He used to be a doctor, with a healer's heart. He wouldn't threaten Eloise to save Francis.

In fact, it was more likely that Eloise had threatened Louis.

But Eloise was so weak. How could she threaten Louis?

Elizabeth felt a splitting headache. These two must have realized they'd messed up and disappeared without a trace.

What was Louis thinking? How could he accept such a reckless proposal from Eloise?

He knew Eloise's health condition well. He knew that if she donated blood, it would be dangerous, yet he let her do it?

Elizabeth looked up at the sky, wanting to ask, 'Where are you two?'

Francis was her child, and she wanted to save him. But she would never trade Eloise's life for his.

Elizabeth got back in the car and left Louis' apartment.

Outside the window, it started to rain.

The windshield wipers swished back and forth. Elizabeth's mind was in turmoil.

At this moment, she wasn't the only one feeling chaotic.

Michael was sitting in Eloise's room at the Thomas family mansion, looking at the pink decor, his heart aching.

He had protected her for so many years. Who would have thought that after she recovered, he couldn't protect her anymore?

She said she liked Louis. Did Louis use that to threaten her? Did he force Eloise to donate blood to save Elizabeth's son?

He wanted to tell Eloise that love was the most elusive thing in the world.

Love couldn't be relied on.

He had forgotten that Francis was his child too. It was he who had forced Elizabeth to conceive.

His phone chimed with a message.

He opened it, and it was a video message—from Eloise!

He clicked on it quickly. In the video, Eloise was sitting on a hospital bed, looking pale and weak.

Eloise's voice was faint and intermittent. It was clear she was extremely weak.

"Michael, I'm leaving you... Forgive me, I can't stay with you anymore. You have Nolan, Pearl, Francis, and Elizabeth with you... you'll be happy. I have Louis... Louis will always be with me."

"Michael, after I'm gone, don't blame Elizabeth, and don't blame Louis... I threatened him... Louis is very good. Michael, if you blame him, I'll be sad in heaven... Also, Mary, our mom... she was murdered. Her servant told me."

The video ended.

Michael cried.

For so many years, Eloise had been under his protection. But hadn't he also seen her as his emotional support in this world?

But now, his emotional support had collapsed!

His world had crumbled!

Elizabeth returned to the hospital's intensive care unit. The doctors and nurses were transferring Francis to a regular pediatric ward.

"Francis can be moved to a regular pediatric room," the nurse told Elizabeth.

Normally, this news would have thrilled her.

But at this moment, her heart felt like it was weighed down by a heavy stone, making it hard to breathe.

On the way, she received a text from Louis. It simply said: [I'm sorry.]

Those words were enough to reveal the truth.

She no longer had any illusions. The blood donor was indeed Eloise.
