Chapter 101 John Openly Spoils Aurora

Did she really believe a kid?

Everyone exchanged looks, thinking it was a bit ridiculous.

John nodded at the hotel manager. "Check it out."

"Yes, Mr. Lewis."

John asked Loren, "How do you know the person is in the control room?"

He didn't expect a real answer from a kid.

Loren was smart, but finding someone wasn't just about smarts.

"It's easy; just check the surveillance," Loren said, pointing at the screens with his chubby hand. "The bad guy vanished after leaving the storage room, and the cameras got messed up. They must've been to the control room or had help. To get there, they had to pass three cameras."

Loren pointed out the cameras between the storage room and the control room.

There were no labels on the screens, so knowing them at a glance was tough unless they were familiar with the setup.

It was Loren's first time here, so he couldn't know the setup.

But he spoke so precisely it surprised John.

Loren continued, "The main entrance and back door cameras didn't catch the bad guy. Based on time and distance, they must still be hiding in the hotel. The control room, farthest from the surveillance room, is the best bet."

Such clear logic from a kid was shocking.

Others listened, half understanding, but John was secretly impressed.

A child's analysis was convincing.

Aurora was also stunned. She knew Loren was smart, but this was next level.

Todd looked at Loren like he found a treasure. "Mr. Lewis, this kid's a genius."

Even on the island, no kid was this smart. Well, except for Summer.

Loren's analytical skills and sharp observation were too valuable to waste.

John knew Todd wanted to take Loren to the island.

Not gonna happen; Aurora would never agree.

Ashley and Kevin didn't fully get it but knew Loren was impressive. They believed he was worth all the care.

Loren stared at the surveillance and added, "The control room is closest to the back door."

He was implying it was a good escape route.

Someone muttered, "What is he talking about? No way a kid's right."

Just then, the manager returned with someone.

"Let go of me! I didn't do anything wrong."

The person struggling was Rose.

No one could deny it now.

Aurora gave Loren a thumbs up. "Loren, well done."

Loren smiled innocently but looked confidently at John. "Piece of cake."

Just like Todd had said to John earlier.

Loren was challenging John.

"Mr. Lewis, the person was in the control room," the manager said, bringing Rose forward.

John's gaze turned cold. "Search her."

A female staff member stepped forward to search Rose.

Rose panicked. "What are you doing? Stop, or I'll sue you for violating my rights."

Kevin sternly said, "If you took the bracelet, you'll face jail time."

"I didn't take any bracelet. I don't know what you're talking about," Rose denied.

However, they found nothing on her.

Emily, in the crowd, secretly sighed in relief. Anything to bring Aurora down was good for her.

As long as the bracelet wasn't found, she could pay reporters to spread rumors about Aurora faking the charity event.

Emily already had the headline in mind.

This was her chance to ruin Aurora's reputation, and she wasn't going to miss it.

Aurora was surprised they didn't find the bracelet. "Rose, if you hand it over now, you might still lessen your responsibility."

"Aurora, are you trying to get back at me because I badmouthed you before? You're humiliating me," Rose broke free from the staff and got smug. "You donated a fake, and now you're trying to pin it on me."

Rose's words caused a stir.

Could Aurora really be framing someone for revenge?

Aurora, staying calm, spoke sharply, "If it wasn't you, why did you sneak out of the storage room and then hide in the control room?"

"What do you mean sneak? I was in a hurry to use the restroom. As for the control room, I dropped my hairpin and went to find it," Rose responded calmly, no longer flustered.

Aurora smiled and exchanged glances with John. They both had the same thought.

"Search the restroom," Aurora said with a slight smile, but her eyes were cold. "Search thoroughly."

At the mention of the restroom, Rose panicked completely.

Soon, the searchers returned with the bracelet, identical to the fake one.

"Ms. White, we found it in the restroom tank."

The recently restored surveillance footage showed Rose entering the restroom, and she had admitted to being there, making it undeniable.

"It wasn't me. It has nothing to do with me. I just went to the restroom. Does everyone who goes to the restroom become a suspect?" Rose refused to admit it.

"Not you?" Aurora said calmly. "Then let's send it to the police and check the fingerprints. If there's a third set of fingerprints besides mine and the staff's, then we'll know who the thief is. Do you dare to check?"

John said sternly, "Send her to the police."

The cold tone made Rose's legs give way, and she begged, "Don't send me to the police. I was wrong. I was just jealous of Aurora. I didn't mean to steal. I planned to return it later. I just wanted to teach Aurora a lesson."

Aurora had indeed learned a lesson.

She remembered the harsh words Rose had said when she left the company.

"Rose, your behavior is disgraceful. As an adult, you should take responsibility for your actions," Aurora said coldly, "I gave you a chance earlier."

Rose begged, "Aurora, please forgive me for the sake of our past as colleagues. I didn't mean it."

"Destroying surveillance and hiding the bracelet in the restroom is clearly premeditated. Do you think everyone here is stupid?" Todd sneered and told Kevin, "Mr. Robinson, send her to the police and stop wasting everyone's time."

Rose's theft had wasted nearly an hour of everyone's time.

But no one felt it was a waste. Seeing Mr. Lewis so indulgent and patient was worth it.

Rose was sent to the police, and the charity event continued.

John's next move confirmed everyone's suspicions.

John bought back the bracelet Aurora had donated for $5 million, donating the entire amount to children in need.

The bracelet was worth only a million, clearly showing John was willing to spend $5 million to indulge Aurora.

Aurora stood up and smiled at John. "Mr. Lewis, thank you for your generosity towards the children."

The auction continued, and it was time to auction the Hermes bag Emily had donated, starting at $100,000.

Emily raised her paddle. "One hundred fifty thousand."

"One hundred eighty thousand!"

"I bid two hundred thousand."

"I bid three hundred thousand..."

As the bidding went higher, Emily became nervous.

If she couldn't buy back what she had donated, it would be embarrassing.

Emily whispered to Daniel, "Daniel, I don't have enough money. Can you help me buy it back?"
