Chapter 412 Revisiting Familiar Places

Aurora sat cross-legged on the couch, keeping a deliberate distance from Black Hawk. Her eyes were sharp as she stared at him. "But there's only one John in this world. No one can replace him, not even hypothetically. Anyone could have killed Jack, but not him."

Black Hawk, sitting in his wheelchair, trembled and gripped the armrest tightly. "You trust him that much? You two had such a fierce argument, and you were convinced it was him. He even admitted to hurting Jack..."

He stopped abruptly, realizing he had said too much.

Aurora, like a cunning fox, smirked coldly at him. "So, there really is a mole on the island. You know so much about my husband and me fighting. Impressive. You've managed to plant a spy in John's stronghold. You have some skills, but thinking you can surpass Nightfall is a bit of a stretch."

Since he had already slipped, Black Hawk didn't bother hiding it anymore.

His expression turned dark. "John wants a divorce, and you still stand by him."

"He wouldn't dare divorce me." Aurora rolled her eyes at Black Hawk. "You must be single and never married. Couples argue; it's normal. Even if John and I fought with knives, we still wouldn't divorce. Believe it or not."

"John isn't worth it," Black Hawk said, his emotions flaring. "A man who can't protect you, who makes you angry, why keep him around?"

Aurora pondered for a moment, scrutinizing Black Hawk in his wheelchair. She asked tentatively, "Have we met before?"

The man before her, with his actions and words, seemed to be on her side, not harming her, and treating her well. This puzzled Aurora.

"No," Black Hawk turned his head away, his voice hoarse and cold. "Ms. White, stay here and watch how I surpass Nightfall."

He signaled to the person beside him, who immediately understood and began to push his wheelchair away.

Aurora stated, "You had Jack killed."

Black Hawk denied it. "I didn't kill Jack."

"Black Hawk, everyone in the underworld knows I'm John's weakness. At first, I thought you captured me to use against John. But now, it seems that's not the case. Whatever your reason for capturing me, I won't let the person who hurt Jack go unpunished."

Black Hawk remained silent for a moment, then left without saying another word.

Not long after, one of Black Hawk's men noticed blood seeping from his left arm and exclaimed, "Boss, you're bleeding again."

Black Hawk glanced at his arm. "What's the big deal? Go get Dr. Silva."

"Yes, sir."

Soon, Carlos Silva, a man in his fifties, arrived. He examined Black Hawk's wound and shook his head. "The wound is infected. It needs further treatment. If you want to stay alive, you should stop moving around."

Black Hawk gritted his teeth against the pain. "How long to recover? Can it be done in a month?"

Carlos looked surprised. "A month? No, it will take at least three months before you can even think about..."

"Enough," Black Hawk interrupted. "Just treat it."

With that, Black Hawk passed out from weakness.

He briefly regained consciousness and instructed, "Take good care of Ms. White. Don't upset her."

Everyone in the Ironclad Union knew Black Hawk valued Aurora highly. They speculated that their leader might have feelings for her. Did this mean Aurora would become the lady of the Ironclad Union?

With Black Hawk's orders, when Aurora asked to go for a walk, they allowed it.

Aurora was surprised by this.

The Ironclad Union had made some changes to the former Wolfpack headquarters. As Aurora walked to the training ground, memories of her first visit there flooded her mind.

Back then, Lori was with her, Hank was there, Ava too, and Christopher and Robert were at odds.

As she wandered, she unexpectedly ran into a familiar face—Robert.

Robert saw her too and dismissed his companions, walking towards Aurora alone.

"Well, well, Ms. White, we meet again," he said with a sarcastic tone.

"I didn't expect someone so eager to be a leader to end up as someone else's lackey," Aurora retorted. "You've really fallen. You used to be the second-in-command, and now look at you. Judging by your clothes, you're just a low-level grunt."

Ironclad Union's uniforms were color-coded by rank. Black was for Black Hawk's men, white for former Wolfpack members, with further subdivisions among them.

Robert's face darkened, and he sneered. "Ms. White, you seem to be doing well, but how did you get captured again?"

Aurora smiled. "Just revisiting old haunts."

"Ms. White, you have a good attitude, but this new leader is unpredictable. Today he keeps you around, but who knows if you'll see the next sunrise."

They exchanged barbs.

"You seem to know this new leader well," Aurora said, a plan forming in her mind. "Robert, I know you don't like being under someone else's thumb. That new leader looks like a sickly person compared to you. In this world, the strong rule."

Robert laughed coldly. "Ms. White, you're quite the schemer. But don't underestimate Black Hawk. He didn't get to where he is without some skills. If you want to escape, you might as well try to please Black Hawk yourself."

He emphasized "please," making Aurora furious. "Shameless."

Robert laughed and walked past her.

Soon, word of Robert's angering Aurora reached Black Hawk. As soon as Robert returned to his room, he was dragged away.

Robert was bewildered and angry. "What are you doing? What are you doing?"

Black Hawk's loyal men dragged Robert to the training ground and dunked his head into a water tank.

At that time, most of the Ironclad Union members were training and witnessed Robert's punishment.

Robert struggled, but it was futile. He was dunked repeatedly, feeling the suffocating sensation of near-death.

Finally, when he was too weak to struggle, they let him go, leaving him on the ground.

"Black Hawk said to show Ms. White respect, or next time it won't be just a few gulps of water."

Robert was shocked. It was all because he had disrespected Aurora.

Seeing Robert's punishment, no one dared to disrespect Aurora again.

Aurora was unaware of Robert's punishment. As she wandered again, she sensed something was off.

Before she could figure it out, someone tapped her shoulder.

Startled, she turned around and was shocked and puzzled by the person she saw. "You..."
