Chapter 419 Bumped into a Pregnant Woman

Ava stared at Lori, not saying a word.

Lori gave a sheepish smile. "Ava, that wine last night really hit me hard. I think String Bean spiked it with something."

"Lori, the wine was just Todd's way of giving you an excuse to throw yourself at him. He was testing you, and you fell for it," Ava said, seeing through Todd's game but not understanding his intentions.

Even if it was just fruit wine, if someone handed Lori a bottle of water and said it was intoxicating, she'd use it as an excuse to crawl into his bed in the middle of the night.

Lori waved her hand. "I don't care if he was testing me or what. I got drunk, lost control, and did whatever I wanted."

Ava gave her a thumbs-up. "You're something else."

Lori cradled her face in her hands. "Men and women don't always have to be in that kind of relationship, you know."

Ava replied, "The deepest bond between a man and a woman is love."

"I'm not that high-minded. I'm just an ordinary person, a very ordinary person."

Ava sighed. "Do what you want. By the way, I have some personal business to take care of. I need to leave for a while. Stay in Silvercrest City and wait for me."

"Can't I come with you?" Lori asked. "What is it? Something I can't be part of?"

There were no secrets between her and Ava.

"I'll tell you later," Ava said, hiding something.

Lori didn't press further. "Alright, contact me if you need anything."

"Will do."

"When are you leaving?"

"Right away."

"So soon?" Lori was surprised.

Ava nodded and didn't say more. Lori didn't ask further questions.

At dawn, Ava left without saying goodbye to Aurora.

Lori took a nap and then returned to her place in Silvercrest City.

Todd ran into her at the door. "Need a ride?"

"No, thanks." Lori casually flipped her hair. "By the way, last night, I got drunk. You know how it is."

Todd leaned on the car door and smiled. "I get it. Actually, I got drunk, too. That fruit wine really packs a punch."

Lori agreed wholeheartedly. "Yeah, that wine is strong."

Todd didn't insist on giving Lori a ride and drove off.

Aurora and John also returned to the Lewis Villa.

As soon as they got back, Wendy and Dean called one after the other about Jack. Aurora didn't tell them the truth, just said Jack went on another trip abroad with friends.

Such an unbelievable story would only scare them and make them worry.

Jack chose his path, and she couldn't persuade him otherwise. Everything was left to fate.

After some hesitation, Aurora only told Lori about Jack.

Lori wasn't too surprised. "You reap what you sow. I didn't turn out bad just because I'm heartless."

Lori didn't get involved. They were all adults, and everyone would face the consequences of their choices one day.

The following days were relatively calm.

John went to work, and Aurora stayed home with the kids, while also working on her luxury goods store.

Sophia had gotten the hang of the business and was doing great. She was the top socialite in Silvercrest City, with a built-in network.

Sophia was like a walking advertisement.

Having found her purpose, Sophia enjoyed her sales job more and more. It was much more meaningful than just spending her parents' money.

Aurora started planning to hire a designer and source materials for jewelry, keeping herself very busy.

One day, she got a call from Ashley, inviting her and John over for dinner.

Aurora realized it had been a while since she visited the Robinson Villa.

It was time to pay a visit.

Aurora picked out some jewelry from her store, wrapped it up as gifts for Ashley.

As she walked towards the parking lot, searching for her car keys in her bag, she accidentally bumped into someone.

"Sorry," Aurora quickly apologized. She realized she had bumped into a pregnant woman and felt even more guilty. "Are you okay? Did I hurt you?"

The woman had an average appearance, about four or five months pregnant, judging by her belly size. She had long hair parted in the middle, wore a loose white dress, and had heavy makeup on.

Holding her belly, the woman looked pained. "My stomach hurts a bit."

Aurora immediately offered, "I'll take you to the hospital. Don't worry, get in my car."

She helped the woman into her car and asked, "Should I call someone for you?"

The woman shook her head. "I don't have any family. Please, just take me to the hospital."

"Alright."
