Chapter 78 See It Through

Getting cheated on, played for a fool, and raising another man's kid—no guy could handle that.

Dean was so mad he could've killed Nicole.

Nicole's face went pale when she saw the paternity test results. Realizing she was caught, she tried to bolt.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Dean yanked her back and threw her to the ground, kicking her repeatedly.

"You cheated on me and made me raise another man's kid. Is Emily Percy's daughter?"

Nicole writhed in pain, screaming and begging, "Stop, please! It's my fault! For all the years we've been together, Dean, I know I was wrong. I'm sorry, but I truly love you!"

"Truly love me?" Dean kicked her in the stomach again, making her double over in agony, unable to respond.

Dean's anger was uncontainable. "Do you really think I'm an idiot? All these years, you and your daughter bullied Aurora, and I pretended not to notice. I provided for you both, only to find out I have been raising someone else's kid. You wretched woman. I could kill you."

Emotionally and socially, Dean couldn't bear this blow.

After a severe beating, Nicole lay on the floor, too weak to even beg for mercy.

The servants heard the commotion but only dared to hide in the shadows, not one of them brave enough to step forward.

Dean, exhausted from the beating, still seethed with anger. He couldn't believe that over twenty years of marriage had been a joke.

Nicole lay convulsing on the floor as Dean pulled out his phone and called Percy.

Percy answered the late-night call without checking the caller ID. "Hello, who is this?"

"Percy, you had an affair with my wife and made me raise your kid for over twenty years. You've gone too far."

At this moment, Dean showed his true colors as a man and didn't back down in front of Percy despite their social status. "Even if I've been a coward before, this time I won't tolerate it. Even if I have to give up White Group, I will make you pay."

A man lived for his pride.

Dean had spent most of his life sucking up to others, living in humiliation. Even when his wife cheated on him, he had to endure it.

But now, even the kid wasn't his, completely shattering his dignity. Dean couldn't endure it any longer.

Nicole, lying on the floor, was terrified by Dean's relentless determination, her eyes filled with fear.

"Lock this wretched woman in the upstairs room. Anyone who lets her out will be fired," Dean furiously ordered the servants.

In the shadows, the servants quickly came out to drag Nicole away to the room.

"Dean, I was truly wrong. Let me go. I need to save Emily. Aurora wants to hurt Emily," Nicole pleaded, her heart racing with anxiety as she desperately wanted to rescue Emily.

She had only one daughter, and the thought of Emily's distress call made Nicole feel both anxious and desperate.

This time Dean was resolute; he locked Nicole up and left.

A man who lost his sanity could do terrifying and unpredictable things.

Fueled by rage, Dean was determined to settle the score with Percy.

Nicole screamed in the room, yet no servant dared to open the door for her.

"Mrs. White, please don't make it hard for us. This time, you have upset Mr. White. He's so furious; who would dare let you out?"

After speaking, the servants locked the door and went back to their rooms to sleep.

Nicole was frantic. She couldn't just stay locked up.

She had to find Percy. He was her only hope now.

Desperate, Nicole tied the bedsheet to the window and started climbing down. Halfway through, her strength gave out, and she fell to the floor.

"Ah!"

She cried out in pain, lay there for a moment to catch her breath, then gingerly got up and escaped.

Meanwhile, over at Redwood.

Aurora had just dealt with Emily and was about to leave when she saw Loren arriving with Leo and a group of people.

Leo looked at Aurora and asked, "Sis, where's the bad guy?"

He called her "sis" so naturally.

"Sis, are you okay?" Loren was very worried, holding Aurora to check for any signs of injury.

Sophia also asked, "Aurora, are you okay? Where's Emily?"

Sensing everyone's concern, Aurora felt a warmth in her heart.

"It's taken care of. Let's go back."

Aurora knew deep down that things were far from over; this was just the beginning.

She needed to go to the police department. "Sophia, take Loren back first."

"Sis, where else are you going? I'll go with you," Leo wasn't dumb; he sensed Aurora had more to do. When Loren called him for help, Leo was excited and rushed over with people.

Fighting was Leo's specialty.

Now that Leo had brought his crew but couldn't help, he felt useless. He had finally earned a nod of approval from Loren; he didn't want to miss the chance.

Aurora glanced at Leo. She didn't want to involve the Robinson family in her personal matters. Asking Kevin for help was already an exception.

"You take them back," said Aurora.

"What? That's it?" Leo sounded disappointed.

Sophia noticed Aurora had more to do but didn't ask, knowing it was a sensitive issue. After all, it was Aurora's pain to bear, and having Leo around made it awkward to ask.

"Aurora, I'll take Loren back first. What about you?" Sophia asked.

"I'll be back soon," Aurora replied.

"Okay," Sophia said.

After parting ways with Sophia and Leo, Aurora drove straight to the police department.

As the victim, Aurora naturally had to report the incident.

When Emily was brought in, she continuously denied framing Aurora, blaming everything on Mark Torres and insisting on seeing Percy.

Who was Percy?

He was the head of one of the four major families in Silver Crest City, the Harris family.

Emily, a White family heiress and a Taylor family daughter-in-law, was a delicate situation to handle. Now that Emily had moved from Percy's house, even the chief, who was already in bed, was stirred.

Chief Perez rushed over and saw Aurora sitting in the hall, caught in a dilemma.

Aurora was Kevin's goddaughter, someone he couldn't afford to offend.

"Miss White." Chief Perez approached, pretending to be unaware. "What brings you here so late?"

On the way, Chief Perez had already learned the details.

"Chief Perez, it seems my sister was moving Percy out," Aurora said calmly, "How do you plan to handle this?"

"Of course, we'll handle it fairly and justly," Chief Perez said, troubled. "But Miss White, there's no deep hatred between sisters. Why not settle this privately? Otherwise, I can't explain it to Mr. Harris."

"Today's issue is indeed between Emily and me, but I won't settle it privately," Aurora said coldly. "If Percy wants to get involved, I'll see it through to the end."
