Chapter 436 Aurora Deceives
After Aurora finished speaking, she suddenly felt a deep ache in her heart for John.
John had endured so much and given up a lot for her.
He was so proud, a man who could make people tremble with just a command in the underworld, yet for her, he had repeatedly backed down and accommodated her family.
Whether it was Alexander's sarcastic remarks or Wendy's accusations, John had endured it all.
Despite Jack's anger and hatred, John had restrained himself from reacting. If it had been anyone else shouting in John's face, they would have been thrown out long ago.
Helen had been harmed by Sandra, and John's father had indirectly died at Alexander's hands. Such deep-seated hatred, if not for Aurora being caught in the middle, Alexander wouldn't be living comfortably now.
Alexander, as if suddenly enlightened, sighed deeply and said, "Aurora, you have good judgment. You didn't choose the wrong son-in-law."
Aurora didn't say anything more. She opened the door and left the room.
Jack's return cast a heavy silence over the entire White family.
Dean brought some fruit to Jack's room. "Jack, I got some fresh fruit for you. Just bought it today. Have some."
Jack sat on the edge of the bed, squinting his eyes, his tone dark. "Get out."
Dean was taken aback. "Jack..."
"I said, get out. Didn't you hear me?" Jack turned around, his gaze bloodthirsty and cold.
Dean's heart seemed to skip a beat. Jack was terrified at that moment.
"Okay, I'll leave right now."
Dean didn't dare to breathe loudly. He put down the fruit plate and hurried out, closing the door behind him. He patted his chest and muttered, "Why has he become so scary?"
"What's become scary?"
Samuel suddenly appeared behind Dean.
Samuel's sudden voice startled Dean. "Samuel, at least make some noise when you walk."
"I've been standing here for a while. You just didn't notice." Samuel asked, "What did you mean by what you just said?"
Dean pointed to the door. "Jack has changed. His eyes just now looked like he wanted to eat someone. It scared me to death."
Samuel thought for a moment and said, "Open the door. I'll go in and take a look."
"You?" Dean said, "Jack lost an arm. He might be in a bad mood. You better not go in."
"I'm just going to check his arm."
Samuel was a doctor.
Dean slapped his forehead. "I almost forgot. Right, you're a doctor. Go check Jack's arm and see if there's any way to save it."
As they spoke, Aurora walked over and heard their conversation. She said, "Thank you, Mr. Foster."
"It's no trouble at all."
Aurora opened the door. "Jack, I've asked Mr. Foster to take a look at your wound."
Samuel and Dean followed her in. This time, Jack was much calmer. His eyes weren't as frightening, and he nodded obediently. "Thank you, Mr. Foster."
Dean was puzzled. The difference was too great, like a wolf suddenly turning into a lamb.
Samuel stepped forward and carefully unwrapped the bandage on Jack's arm, revealing the wound.
The wound hadn't fully healed. It was large, red, and looked gruesome.
Dean couldn't help but gag.
Aurora's heart ached. This arm had been completely blown off.
Samuel remained calm. He had seen worse wounds.
After examining it closely, Samuel said, "The wound has split open more than once. You need to take good care of it. Once it fully heals, you can only try a prosthetic."
Jack looked at his severed arm without speaking, but his eyes were deep with thought.
After the examination, Aurora pulled Samuel aside. "Mr. Foster, can you tell anything from the wound?"
Samuel understood what Aurora meant. "The wound was treated promptly, stitched up well, and the medicine used was top-notch."
That was all the information Samuel could provide. The rest was up to Aurora to figure out.
"I understand. Thank you, Mr. Foster."
If what Jack said was true, the wound couldn't have been treated so promptly.
Jack had lied. He was Black Hawk.
Aurora remembered what John had said before and asked, "Mr. Foster, do you know how to determine if someone has a split personality? Like if there's another personality living inside them."
"You mean?" Samuel was quite shocked. He understood what Aurora meant and took a deep breath. "If what you say is true, then only when a person is in danger or encounters specific things or environments can the other personality be forced out."
"Specific things, environments..."
Aurora murmured these words. "I think I understand."
"Aurora, I don't recommend you do that. It could backfire," Samuel said. "And no one knows for sure if it's true. The danger of forcing out another personality is also unknown."
"Mr. Foster, I know what I'm doing. Lori is in trouble, and it might be related to Jack. At first, I thought Jack wouldn't hurt Lori, but now, I'm not so sure. I need to find Lori as soon as possible."
Lori had been missing for several hours.
Todd was going crazy looking for her, and Ava had no leads either.
Aurora was extremely anxious.
Night fell.
The weather changed suddenly, with strong winds and lightning. Soon, it started to pour.
A thunderclap seemed to tear the sky apart.
Jack woke up from his sleep. The window was open, and rain was blowing in, the wind whipping the curtains around.
Jack went to close the window. Just as he was about to go back to bed, he heard noises outside.
It was already midnight.
Jack opened the door and followed the sound to the movie room.
Lightning flashed, making the movie room flicker eerily, sending chills down his spine.
A large white screen showed a silhouette.
It was a man's silhouette, very similar to Richard's.
Richard's voice came from behind the screen.
"I, Richard, will never give up. You want to harm me, but I won't let you succeed."
Then, another silhouette appeared on the screen, a woman's.
Wendy's voice came from behind the screen.
"Richard, you killed my child, separated me from Alexander for years, and you killed Jessica. You monster, you deserve to die."
"Die! Scum like you have no right to live." Alexander's voice joined in.
Suddenly, several silhouettes appeared on the screen. Richard's silhouette crouched on the ground, being beaten by Alexander.
Wendy stood by, cursing, "Lori and Jack having a father like you is a disgrace. You don't deserve to be a father."
The beaten Richard roared, "Don't be too arrogant. I have a son. I have Jack. If you dare touch me, Jack will avenge me."
"Dad, Dad..."
Jack stared at the screen, his eyes changing, becoming vicious. He pointed angrily at the silhouettes of Alexander and Wendy. "Let go of my dad. Let go."
A gunshot echoed through the movie room.
Blood splattered on the screen, and Richard slowly fell.
"Dad!"
Jack shouted and rushed towards the screen, his eyes filled with murderous intent.
Hiding in the shadows, Aurora glanced at Samuel. "We've forced it out."
