Chapter 308: My Own Wife Is Too Deceitful

Jack was originally walking by when he heard someone call his name. He looked up and saw Aurora in the car, and he started running even faster.

"Jack!" Aurora shouted a few times. She stopped the car at the traffic light, but the drivers behind her were already honking. She had to drive past the intersection and park by the roadside, then got out and chased in the direction Jack had run.

Jack took a small path, and Aurora jogged a bit but had to give up because of a stomachache.

Jack was in Silvercrest City, but where was Richard? And why did Jack run away as soon as he saw her?

Aurora felt increasingly uneasy. She then drove to the Meadowbrook villa.

Coincidentally, Lori and Ava were both there.

Lori was there to see Todd for fun. Every time Lori saw Todd with both his hands in casts, she couldn't help but laugh.

Because of Jack, Aurora felt a bit heavy-hearted. Summer and Loren were also there. John's injury had improved a bit, but he still couldn't walk. He either sat in a wheelchair or lay down.

Todd's arms wouldn't heal anytime soon. Everyone was chatting and laughing, but as soon as Aurora arrived, they stopped laughing.

To be precise, they didn't dare to laugh.

Aurora's arrival surprised everyone.

John, seeing Aurora's troubled expression, knew something was up. He reached out, "Aurora, what's wrong?"

Seeing everyone was chatting happily, Aurora didn't want to spoil the mood by bringing up what had just happened.

"Nothing, just came by to check on Todd," Aurora spoke with concern as she walked over to Todd. "How's your hand?"

Todd was flattered. Aurora didn't care about her own husband but was concerned about him?

"Mrs. Lewis, I'm much better. The injury isn't that serious. Mr. Lewis's injury is worse than mine." Todd didn't want any trouble. If Aurora showed concern for him, John would definitely give him a hard time once she left.

Lori spoke up, "Todd, didn't you just say your injury was serious? Were you lying to me? Do you believe I'll ruin your reproductive organs to make it complete?"

"I believe you." Todd didn't dare to mess around anymore and quickly pleaded, "Lori, please spare me. I have elderly parents to take care of and... wait, I don't have any kids yet. The Smith family only has me as a son. I can't let the Smith family line end."

Todd was very aware of the situation and had a deep understanding.

He didn't mind admitting defeat in front of so many people.

Lori found it uninteresting, "You're so stingy. I just had a meal with your man, and with your sexual orientation, you wouldn't have kids anyway."

Todd's man?

No kids?

That was a lot of information.

Aurora remembered Allan asking about Lori's preferences before. What went wrong with these three?

Gary and John both looked at Todd. Todd wished he could disappear immediately. They couldn't continue this conversation, or he'd be exposed.

Todd had to drag John into it.

"Mrs. Lewis lost a bet to Lori before. I heard you're supposed to do a striptease. When can we all see it?" Todd was going all out.

John shot him a look. What a good friend, using him as a shield?

A striptease was more interesting than Todd having a man. Lori excitedly asked, "John, when are you going to arrange it? Aurora said you'd wear a bikini. I'm suddenly looking forward to it."

If Todd hadn't mentioned it, Lori would have forgotten.

Summer and Loren imagined John doing a striptease in a bikini. It was unbearable to watch.

Gary leisurely advised, "Honesty is the foundation of being a good person."

John was speechless.

Aurora coughed lightly, "Honey, it looks like you'll have to make a sacrifice."

Todd knew John's vulnerabilities and suggested, "Mr. Lewis, it's okay if you don't dance. Mrs. Lewis can dance instead."

Let Aurora dance in a bikini?

John would never agree.

His wife could only dance for him, not for other men.

John gritted his teeth, "I always keep my promises. But my leg is injured now. Once it's healed, I'll fulfill my promise."

Gary added, "Your leg should be almost healed by the wedding. Dancing should be no problem."

John wanted to curse.

What did Gary say before?

Given the condition of his leg, it was best to sleep in the hallway on the wedding night. Now he said dancing was no problem?

John stared at Gary. Gary added, "I'll give you some good medicine. It's newly developed and very effective for wound healing."

In other words, he wasn't lying. The new medicine just worked fast.

John took a deep breath. What kind of friends did he have?

Each one was worse than the last.

Lori looked at Aurora, "Aurora, I think John just doesn't want to dance."

Normally, Aurora would side with John. But today, she suddenly wanted to see John dance too. She touched her chin and coaxed, "Honey, how about dancing on our wedding day? I'll buy you a bikini."

John was on the verge of tears. His wife was the worst.

John reluctantly agreed, "Fine!"

Just because Aurora called him "honey," John was willing to dance.

Lori whistled, "John, we're all waiting."

Ava was also looking forward to it.

Aurora had something important then ask Lori, "Are you staying over tonight?"

"No problem." Lori agreed readily. She and Ava had stayed over before.

It was getting late, and everyone went to their rooms to rest. Summer and Loren helped John back to his room, and Aurora went to Lori's room.

Lori asked, "Aurora, is something wrong?"

Aurora asking her to stay over was a hint.

Ava grabbed a towel and left, "I'll go freshen up. You two talk."

She was deliberately avoiding them.

Aurora stopped her, "No need, Ava."

Lori uttered, "Aurora, just say it if something's up."

"I saw Jack," Aurora spoke. "Just giving you a heads-up. Jack is back in Silvercrest City. If you see him next time, make sure to bring him to me."

If Jack appeared, Richard was likely nearby.

That was what Aurora meant.

Richard was a fugitive, and Lori was a cop. Catching Richard was her responsibility.

"Aurora, I get it. I know what to do."

"Alright, you guys rest early." Aurora didn't say much more.

Aurora returned to the bedroom. After Summer and Loren helped John back, they went to their own rooms. John was taking his medicine.

John asked,"Aurora, did something happen?"

"On the way here, I saw Jack." Aurora glanced at John's leg injury. "How does it feel? Will you still act tough next time?"

"It's just a minor injury." John pulled Aurora into his arms, making her sit on his lap. In a seductive voice, he spoke, "Even with some intense lovemaking, I can still manage. Want to try?"

Aurora was speechless.

Despite his injury, his mind was still full of nonsense.

Aurora rolled her eyes at him and naturally didn't follow his lead. She changed the subject, "By the way, I wanted to ask you something. What's the relationship between Todd and Mr. Jennings? I heard Lori say that Todd and Allan seem to be a couple?"
