Chapter 133 Discovering the Birthmark
The chopped-off finger hit the ground, blood splattering everywhere.
Emily grabbed her hand, shaking from the pain. Blood was pouring out between her fingers, making a mess on the floor.
Emily's swearing made Daniel's face go dark. He just stood there, not lifting a finger to help.
Percy gritted his teeth. "Mr. Lewis, can I take her now?"
Emily was pregnant, so John didn't push it too far. He waved his hand. "Next time, it won't just be a finger."
Emily looked at John, terror filling her eyes.
Chris had only bluffed her before, but John was serious. When he said he'd cut off her finger, he meant it.
"Don't worry, Mr. Lewis. There won't be a next time." Percy stepped up to support Emily, shooting Daniel a cold glare.
Daniel avoided Percy's eyes, too scared to look at him.
Percy took Emily away. Daniel glanced at Aurora and said to John, "Mr. Lewis, if there's nothing else, I'll go."
"Alright," John said casually, "Take the finger with you."
Daniel's face went pale. He swallowed his disgust and fear, picking up Emily's severed finger.
Outside the Meadow Brook Villa, Daniel tossed the finger into a trash can, wiping his hands over and over with a tissue.
He looked back at the fancy mansion. Now that Aurora was with John, she probably didn't have any room for him in her heart.
Everyone wanted to be on top. One day, he too would reach John's level and not be as subservient as he was today.
John had called Daniel over, not to take Emily, but to crush him with his power, warning him that Aurora was off-limits.
Aurora didn't mind how John dealt with Nicole and Emily, but Nicole's suicide still shocked her.
After handling everything, John went back to The Lewis Mansion, leaving with Todd, not Aurora.
Aurora sensed something was off with John. Was it because of what Nicole said?
Even if he said he didn't care, being mocked and ridiculed would still sting.
"Aurora, where's John?" Loren came downstairs. John had saved him and punished the bad guys, making him a hero in Loren's eyes.
Loren admired John a lot.
"He had something to do," Aurora said, still shaken by the sea incident. She hugged Loren, his soft, smooth skin comforting.
Aurora said, "Loren, I'm sorry I came late."
She felt genuinely sorry. Because she had offended Nicole and Emily, Loren had been dragged into it.
Loren said generously, "It's okay. Oh, by the way, I found my brother. Summer, come here!"
"I'm coming," Summer replied, hands in his pockets, coming downstairs. The brothers reunited, and Loren was super happy. He ran over and hugged Summer, almost knocking him over.
Summer complained, "Loren, you need to lose weight. Look at you, you're as round as a ball now."
Loren pinched his flesh and pouted. "I'm not losing weight. I worked hard to gain this. Aurora said I am the cutest."
Summer said, "If you get any fatter, don't say you're my brother when we go out."
"No matter how fat I get, I'm still your brother." Loren clung to Summer's arm. "Summer, you can't get rid of me. Wherever you go, I'll go."
"Clingy little guy," Summer said this, but his face was filled with affection for his brother, clearly enjoying Loren's clinginess.
Aurora watched the brothers bicker and tease each other, their bond tight. Her heart warmed at the sight.
"Summer, come here," Loren pulled Summer towards Aurora, his little face all serious. "Summer, this is my future wife. Isn't she beautiful? When I grow up, I'm gonna marry her."
Summer had heard this before. Competing with John for a woman? Bold move, kid.
Summer gave Loren an admiring look. Such guts.
He politely said to Aurora, "Thanks, Aurora, for looking after Loren."
Aurora smiled. "You're welcome. Loren is super cute, and I like him a lot. I also like you. You two are awesome."
Loren got jealous. "Aurora, do you like me more or Summer more?"
Aurora laughed. "Of course, I like our cute, smart, and clever Loren the most."
Loren beamed. Summer teased, "Childish."
Aurora laughed. Summer was more mature, even though they were both five. When apart, they missed each other; when together, they teased each other.
Loren followed Summer everywhere.
Aurora stayed at the Meadow Brook Villa with the brothers all day, occasionally glancing at her phone. No messages. She felt a bit bummed.
In the afternoon, Summer went to the training room to practice, and Loren insisted on going too. Watching Summer hit the target with every shot, Loren was full of admiration. "Summer, you're amazing."
Sam coaxed, "Loren, do you want to be as amazing as Summer?"
"Yes, yes," Loren replied. If he became skilled, he wouldn't fear bad people.
"Sam." Summer shot a sharp look, warning in his eyes.
Summer didn't want Loren to go to the island. It was enough for him to protect Loren.
Sam laughed awkwardly. "Summer, don't be so tense. I was just saying."
While the brothers were in the training room, Aurora went to the study upstairs to handle some work.
She hadn't quit the Lewis Group, and Linda Simmons still gave her tasks.
All the servants knew Aurora was John's woman, the mansion's mistress. She could go anywhere freely.
Aurora turned on the computer, which seemed unused for a long time, the keyboard covered in dust.
She pressed the power button. The screen lit up, showing a beautiful woman in a blue sleeveless dress, sitting on a rock and gazing at the sea. The scene was tranquil.
Aurora thought, 'John really is a ladies' man, even using a beautiful woman as his wallpaper.'
She didn't think much of it. Men love beautiful women, and women love handsome men; it was normal.
Aurora spent the afternoon in the study handling work. By the time she finished, the sun was setting.
Summer and Loren came out of the training room, both sweating, and went to shower.
Aurora saw a servant bringing two sets of clean clothes. "I'll take them in. You go make something to eat; these two kids must be starving."
"Yes, Ms. White," the servant replied and left.
Aurora took the clothes into the room, hearing the brothers' laughter from the bathroom as they played with water.
"Don't stay in too long, the water will get cold," Aurora said.
Seeing Summer's neck covered in soap bubbles, she walked over. "Let me help you."
"Thank you, Aurora," Summer said, a bit shy.
Aurora chuckled and used a towel to wash Summer's neck. "Summer, you..."
Her gaze suddenly fell behind Summer's ear, and she was stunned.
