Chapter 306: Relatives Everywhere
Spending the wedding night in the hallway, that's a bit cruel.
With those words, Aurora left, signaling for Summer to come along.
"Summer, come back with me. If your daddy is so capable, let him stay here by himself." Aurora uttered coldly.
John was abandoned.
Summer placed the medicine on John's bedside table: "Daddy, you're on your own now. This is as much as I can do for you."
"You little rascal, I'm not dead yet." John replied.
"How dare you yell at my son?" Aurora defended.
John immediately softened: "Honey, I wasn't yelling. Summer, go back with your mommy."
As he spoke, John gave Summer a look, hoping he would say something nice about him in front of Aurora.
"Summer, let's go." Aurora took Summer and really left.
Gary watched from the window, giving John a sympathetic look: "Your wife really left."
"With her gone, I feel less pressure. If she were here, I'd be more uncomfortable." John was being completely honest.
He didn't even dare to look at her.
If Aurora were here, he would have to acknowledge his mistakes.
After all, he had kept his injury from Aurora.
Gary looked at John: "I suddenly think being single is pretty good."
John lit a cigarette and took a puff: "That's a narrow view. This is just some fun between a married couple. You wouldn't understand as a single guy."
"Looking at you and then at Todd, I think it's better that I don't understand." Gary continuing, "By the way, your leg injury might not heal in three months. For your wedding night, I think it's safer to sleep in the hallway."
In the following days, Aurora really didn't visit John, leaving him to fend for himself at the Meadowbrook villa.
Todd also moved to the Meadowbrook villa to recover, so the two had each other for company.
Lori was extremely busy, leaving early and coming back late, completely forgetting about Todd.
One day, Summer asked, "Mommy, are you really not going to see Daddy?"
Aurora was feeding Trey formula: "No."
Loren rested his chin on his hands: "Mommy, Daddy is all alone at the Meadowbrook villa. It's really pitiful."
"There are so many people taking care of him at the Meadowbrook villa. What's so pitiful about that?" Helen came in holding Jax. She knew about John's self-harm and was siding with Aurora this time.
Couples should discuss everything, especially something this serious.
What if something went wrong?
John's married with four sons and still acts so immaturely. He deserves a lesson.
Summer and Loren couldn't plead for John anymore.
Aurora's phone suddenly rang. She handed the bottle to Summer: "Summer, you feed Trey. Mommy needs to take a call."
The call was from Alexander. Aurora took the phone to the yard to answer.
"Alexander, what prompted you to call me out of the blue today?"
Since faking his death, Alexander rarely reached out.
"Aurora, how about we have dinner tonight? It's been ages since we last shared a meal."
"Dinner is fine, but let me be clear: if it's about Sandra, don't even bother." Aurora replied seriously.
Aurora's words immediately blocked Alexander's intentions.
With Sandra in jail, it was highly likely Alexander was calling about her.
"It's just a simple dinner between us. By the way, I invited Dean. He raised you, and I want to thank him properly." Alexander was trying to divert attention.
"Alright! Let's meet at Villa Kitchen. I'll book the table, and you two just show up." Aurora agreed.
After hanging up, Aurora walked into the hall and said to Helen, "Mom, I'm going out tonight. Please take care of the kids."
Helen smiled: "It's no trouble. Go out and have fun. And buy yourself some new clothes."
"Okay."
Aurora didn't explain what she was going out for. As she left, she told Summer and Loren, "If you want to see your daddy, have Lachlan take you."
Since Aurora wasn't going, Summer and Loren didn't dare to go either.
Loren asked, "Mommy, why don't you come with us?"
"I'm not going. If your daddy sees me, it might hinder his recovery."
That's why they're a couple; Aurora knows John too well.
With Aurora's permission, the brothers immediately had Lachlan take them.
In fact, Aurora's all tough talk but with a soft heart. By letting the kids go, it was as if she was visiting herself.
Night fell.
When Aurora arrived at Villa Kitchen, Dean and Alexander were already drinking. The scene was quite surreal.
Having a few drinks, Dean started loosening up, grabbing Alexander and saying, "Alexander, seeing you, I finally understand. I used to wonder what kind of man could make Wendy never forget him. We were married for eight years, and she never let me into her room. It was maddening. The woman I married wouldn't even let me in the door."
"If you had gotten in, we wouldn't be drinking together now." Alexander sipped his drink, knowing that Wendy had always been his woman. He felt both happy and proud, but also infinitely guilty.
Wendy had only ever slept with him. But what about him? He had two daughters with other women.
Thinking about it, Alexander hated himself.
In the end, Wendy loved him more deeply.
Aurora walked in and put down her bag: "How much have you two had to drink? The smell is so strong."
"Aurora, you're here." Dean voiced happily, "Your real dad and I really hit it off. We felt like old friends at first sight, so we had a few more drinks."
Alexander looked at Aurora: "Aurora, you've lost weight."
She had just given birth not long ago, and Aurora had lost a few more pounds. When she walked in just now, she really looked a lot like Wendy.
Seeing the two getting along well, Aurora felt relieved: "A few years ago, I wouldn't have believed that the three of us would be sitting down to dinner together."
Life is indeed full of surprises.
Alexander patted Dean on the shoulder: "Dean, thank you for raising Aurora and educating her so well."
Dean felt ashamed: "It was her mother who taught her well. To be honest, after Wendy passed away, I didn't take good care of Aurora."
Not only did he not care for her, but he also allowed Nicole and Emily to bully Aurora.
"It's all in the past. No need to bring it up." Aurora couldn't drink, so she poured a glass of warm water: "I'll use water instead of wine to toast you both."
"Cheers!" Alexander was in a good mood today.
The three of them drank, and Dean asked, "Aurora, where's Jack?"
Since Jack's release, Dean hadn't seen him for a long time.
Mentioning Jack made Aurora feel a bit heavy-hearted.
Sandra had stirred up trouble in Silvercrest City, and after Richard took Jack away, there had been no news.
"I'm not really sure," Aurora replied honestly. "He left with Richard."
"Richard? The guy who stabbed me last time?" Dean was shocked. "Aurora, we should call the police. That man is dangerous. If Jack is with him, that's really bad."
Saying this, Dean got up to call the police.
"Sit down," Aurora explained. "That man is Jack's biological father. He won't harm him."
"Richard has a son?" Alexander was also shocked. "Who is Jack?"
Alexander had never met Jack.
Alexander had been fighting with people like Richard for years, and he didn't know Richard had a son?
"It's a long story," Aurora suddenly remembered something and asked, "Alexander, you used to be in the Wolfpack. Do you know someone with the last name Foster?"
"Foster?" Alexander immediately thought of someone: "Samuel Foster. He, your mom, and I co-founded the Wolfpack. But Samuel was a doctor and didn't contribute much at the time. He wasn't interested in fame or fortune, so he didn't hold a position in the Wolfpack. After I left, I lost contact with him."
Alexander sighed as he reminisced about the past, "Back then, Jessica, your mom, Richard, and Samuel, we were all ambitious and wanted to achieve great things. But now, your mom, Jessica, and Samuel are all gone."
Aurora didn't know much about their past, but just listening, she could imagine the deep and complex relationships, surely filled with unforgettable entanglements.
Alexander took a sip of his drink and sighed: "You should have an aunt. But due to my negligence, I lost her. Aurora, if I could find your aunt in my lifetime, I would have no regrets."
"What's her name? Do you have a photo?" Aurora asked casually while holding her water glass. "I'll ask John to help look for her."
Hearing that Aurora was serious about helping, Alexander spoke, "Your aunt's name is Nicole. I only have a photo of her as a child. I'll give it to you later."
Upon hearing this, both Aurora and Dean spat out their drinks.
Nicole?
Isn't that too ridiculous?
Or is it just a coincidence?
