Chapter 327: We Can't Let John's Leg Heal Too Quickly

Aurora had just supported John's arm when he began to feign weakness, leaning his body towards Aurora and resting his arm on her shoulder.

"Aurora, my leg is killing me. Only you care about me."

Aurora was speechless.

Fortunately, she knew what kind of person John was, so she wasn't surprised.

"Serves you right for showing off." Aurora secretly pinched John lightly as a punishment.

John's smile deepened, and it looked like the two were flirting.

Seeing this, Daniel's face turned sour.

Even though he had been with Aurora before, he had never seen this genuine side of her.

Aurora helped John sit down. Originally, it was Daniel who had invited Aurora, but now Daniel seemed redundant.

John seemed to notice Daniel just then and remarked, "Mr. Taylor is here too."

Daniel thought to himself, 'I've been sitting here for a long time, don't act like I'm invisible.'

Daniel forced a smile, "Hello, Mr. Lewis."

Ex-boyfriend and current husband, see how harmonious they are.

John sipped his tea, "Mr. Taylor, weren't you looking for my wife? Feel free to chat, don't mind me. I'll just drink tea and eat a bit."

Was he really here just to eat?

Aurora stifled a laugh and gave Daniel a composed look, "Mr. Taylor, didn't you say you had something important to discuss?"

"Uh, yeah, something very important." Daniel laughed awkwardly. In reality, he didn't really have anything important; he had just tricked Aurora into coming out, secretly hired a reporter, and planned to take some suggestive photos to create a scandal.

With John's unexpected presence, how could he even consider such a devious plan?

Daniel drank some tea to calm his nerves. Seeing both Aurora and John staring at him, he laughed awkwardly again, "Well, I can't seem to remember what it was. How about we eat first? The food at this restaurant is excellent."

Suddenly, John placed his teacup heavily on the table, the sound startling Daniel, who looked at John nervously.

John slowly adjusted his sleeves and voiced in a calm tone, "The chef here is from my own house, so the food is naturally good."

"Your own chef?" Daniel stuttered, "This restaurant is owned by Mr. Lewis?"

"It wasn't before, but now it is."

In other words, John had bought the restaurant.

This restaurant was in a prime location in Silvercrest City, and buying it must have cost a fortune.

Oh right, John wasn't short of money.

Daniel felt a bead of sweat forming on his forehead. He wasn't stupid; he knew John disliked him.

Nervously chuckling, Daniel hurried to refill John's tea as he noticed the cup nearing empty.

The atmosphere was incredibly awkward.

Aurora held back her laughter and calmly ate her food.

At this moment, Daniel's phone rang. Seeing that it was Amelia calling, he felt like he had seen a savior and quickly answered. Before the other person could speak, he hurriedly interjected, "Honey, I'm having dinner with Mr. Lewis. What? You're not feeling well and are at the hospital? Okay, I'll be right there. Which hospital? Alright, wait for me!"

On the other end of the line, Amelia was completely confused. She wasn't feeling unwell, nor was she at the hospital. She had no idea what Daniel was talking about.

After his little performance, Daniel spoke, "Sorry, Mr. Lewis, my wife is unwell and at the hospital. I need to go check on her."

John didn't respond, leisurely drinking and eating. Without John's permission, Daniel didn't dare to leave.

After intentionally ignoring Daniel for a few minutes, John finally remarked, "OK, go ahead."

Daniel felt like he had been given a pass and quickly made his exit.

Watching Daniel's panicked departure, Aurora couldn't help but laugh, "John, could your reaction time be any slower?"

He was really a jealous person.

John pinched Aurora's nose affectionately, "You just take advantage of the fact that I like you."

She even dared to have dinner with an ex.

Aurora laughed, "Then why don't you have the guts to not follow me?"

John rolled his eyes at Aurora, "I suspect you set me up back then."

"Hey, John, don't slander me. I suffered the most back then. After we had sex, you left, and I went through a lot."

John handed Aurora some salmon, "Honey, have some salmon to replenish your protein."

Aurora didn't hesitate and took a bite, asking, "Is your leg better yet?"

"Almost." John replied.

It would take at least a month to heal, and it had only been a little over half a month. John was just using this as an excuse to make love with Aurora.

Aurora glanced at John's thigh and muttered softly, "Looks like I need to talk to Gary and make sure he doesn't use the best medicine, just the regular stuff."

John, with his keen hearing, looked shocked.

Maia and Selene, along with a group of people, came out of the private room after their meal, all looking a bit unhappy. Most of them had been bragging too much earlier, and when it came time to pay, they ended up going Dutch.

This class reunion left everyone feeling uncomfortable, though they tried to keep up appearances.

Maia, with her sharp eyes, saw Aurora dining at the Garden Restaurant and voiced, "Aurora is eating over there. The man next to her must be her husband."

Hearing this, everyone looked over and indeed saw Aurora.

So Aurora wasn't lying when she said she had something to do.

She was on a date with her husband.

However, they could only see John's back, not his face. But even from the back, they could tell he was an extraordinary man.

Selene, unwilling to let it go, urged everyone, "Do you all want to see what Aurora's husband looks like? The CEO of AJ Group, the head of the Lewis family. I'm curious to see if it's really him."

Selene's words echoed everyone's thoughts. Nemesis had just been shown up for flaunting wealth, so maybe Aurora's story was fake too.

No one wanted to see Aurora living better than them.

Maia advised, "Selene, don't stir up trouble. We're all classmates; don't make a scene."

"Who's causing trouble? We're just going over to say hello."

With that, Selene swayed her way over, and the others followed.

"Aurora," Selene greeted with a smile, "Is this your husband? Let's all get acquainted with him."

Aurora's mood soured the moment she saw Selene and the group.

John turned around at this moment, and when Selene and the others saw his face, they were all stunned.

It really was John.

They had all seen him on TV.

Oh my God, Aurora really married a top-tier billionaire.

Everyone was filled with envy and jealousy.

John glanced at the group indifferently and asked Aurora in a gentle tone, "Honey, are these your friends?"

That "honey" was a blow to everyone's hearts.
