Chapter 23 Arrogant Cleverness to Severing Ties
Ashley also said, "It's just the White family, a powerless family. How dare they bully my son? They've got a death wish. Kevin, I don't care. If you won't seek justice for our son, then I will."
At that moment, Kevin's secretary walked over. "Mr. Robinson, Mr. Lewis' secretary is here."
Hearing this, Kevin turned bewildered, immediately thinking of the incident where Leo was beaten.
'Could it be that they've offended the Lewis family again?'
Kevin had a bad feeling and immediately said, "Where is she? Take me there quickly."
"In the lobby."
Kevin hurried to the lobby. When he saw the beautiful woman sitting in the hospital lobby, he had a rough idea of what was going on.
"Ms. Elena."
This person was John's secretary, Elena.
Even though Kevin held a significant position in the social circle, he still showed some respect in front of Elena.
Of course, this respect was for John.
Elena, dressed in professional attire, had been with John for a long time and handled matters with a bit of John's demeanor. She said expressionlessly, "Mr. Kevin Robinson, Mr. Lewis sent me to check on Mr. Leo Robinson. How is Mr. Leo Robinson's injury?"
This made Kevin's heart skip a beat. "Ms. Elena, could it be that the one who beat my son is..."
"Mr. Kevin Robinson, you are a respected figure in the business world, but unfortunately, you have a foolish son," Elena said coldly, "Mr. Lewis asked me to tell you that breaking two ribs this time is a warning. If it happens again, the Robinson family might have no heirs left."
When Kevin heard this, his face turned pale, and he almost collapsed to the ground.
The Robinson family was large and wealthy, but in front of the Lewis family, it was nothing.
The Lewis family could crush the Robinson family in an instant.
Kevin immediately said, "Ms. Elena, it's my fault for not teaching my son properly. Please convey to Mr. Lewis that it won't happen again. I will personally apologize to Mr. Lewis another day."
"Mr. Kevin Robinson, you're indeed a smart man," Elena sneered. "Then you should know who to apologize to."
Kevin was stunned for a moment, then quickly understood. "I understand. I will personally go to the White family to apologize tomorrow."
"Miss White was frightened. Mr. Kevin Robinson, you know what to do."
Elena delivered the message and left.
Kevin wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and sat down on a nearby chair.
Ashley came over angrily. "Why are you still sitting here? Go get justice for our son. Our son broke two ribs. I want that bitch from the White family to break both her legs, and find that man who beat my son and break his legs, too."
"What's the point of looking? They've already come to us," Kevin said with a bitter face. "Look at the son you raised. Why did he have to go and provoke The White family?"
"Kevin, what do you mean? Our son was beaten, and so what if it's the White family? Why should we fear the White family?" Ashley was displeased. When she thought of her precious son being beaten, her anger flared up. "Aurora is just an unloved girl. Our son took a liking to her, which is her good fortune. The White family is a small family. The Robinson family doesn't even care about them."
"The White family is nothing, but we can't afford to offend the Lewis family," Kevin, frustrated and losing his patience, said with a stern face, "Discipline your son properly, or we'll end up burying him, and the Robinson family will have no descendants."
"The Lewis family?" Ashley was confused. "What does this have to do with the Lewis family?"
"Aurora has probably caught Mr. Lewis' eye," Kevin wasn't stupid. Thinking about the two times Leo was beaten and the Lewis family's warnings, all for Aurora, he figured it out.
Ashley still didn't get it. "That dying Mr. John Lewis? Didn't we hear that the Lewis family broke off the engagement with the White family? How is this related to the Lewis family again?"
"Idiot, I really married the wrong woman." Kevin warned. "Watch your mouth. Words can cause trouble. Do you really think Mr. John Lewis is dying? The Lewis family is a large family with hundreds of people, and power struggles are fierce. Who knows if he's really dying or not? The Lewis family is still under John's control. Just remember that."
Ashley couldn't think that far.
"So our son got beaten for nothing?"
"Breaking two ribs is light. If you want to bury him and to collect his body, then go ahead and mess with Aurora. Otherwise, keep your son in check and don't provoke that woman again. If not, the Robinson family will be finished. Do you even think we have the right to compete with Mr. Lewis for a woman? If this continues, the Robinson family will be ruined by this foolish son."
Ashley didn't realize the severity of the situation and muttered in defense of her son, "Who knew Mr. Lewis would take a liking to Aurora again? They had already broken off the engagement. Besides, if Aurora hadn't seduced our son, he wouldn't have gone after her."
Kevin was furious. "You and I both know what kind of person Leo is. Keep your son in check. I still have to go to the White family. If Aurora doesn't forgive us, this matter won't be over."
The news of Aurora offending the Robinson family quickly reached Dean's ears.
Dean turned pale with fear. His legs went weak, and he collapsed onto the sofa.
He kept muttering, "We're finished. We're finished."
The White family's company was already struggling with financial issues, and now they offended the Robinson family, which was undoubtedly adding insult to injury.
Nicole, whose face was swollen from being beaten, laughed smugly. "Dean, look at the mess your eldest daughter has caused. Now just wait for the White family to be finished. Anyone who offends the Robinson family won't end well. I heard that Leo holds grudges, and Ashley is fiercely protective. The Robinson family only has one heir, so the White family is definitely doomed this time."
Nicole had been beaten by Dean after being brought back, leaving her bruised and swollen.
The two had already torn each other apart. Hearing that Aurora had caused trouble and that the White family was doomed, Nicole feltvery pleased.
Nicole's words were like adding fuel to the fire. Dean, enraged, kicked Nicole again. "You unfaithful woman! I'll beat you to death."
"Go ahead, and then offend the Harris family, too. Let's see what happens to you then," Nicole retorted fearlessly, her neck stiff with defiance. "Dean, you're a coward. Beating me proves nothing. Why didn't you storm in earlier? You're afraid of Percy; you can't afford to offend him."
"Shut up!" Dean, humiliated and furious, slapped Nicole, knocking her to the ground.
"Mom!" Emily rushed in after receiving a distress call from Nicole, only to see Nicole being beaten.
"Dad, what are you doing?"
Emily helped Nicole up and was shocked to see her battered face.
Emily was asking the obvious.
She knew the scandal had been exposed.
Nicole's affair had been caught, but Emily didn't expect it to be this severe. Dean, who usually listened to Nicole, had beaten her this badly.
Family scandals shouldn't be aired, but behind closed doors, who would know?
Seeing Emily, Nicole clung to her and cried, "Emily, I can't live anymore. Aurora set me up, and your dad wants to kill me."
"Mom, don't cry," Emily comforted Nicole and then looked at Dean. "Dad, I heard about what happened tonight. It must be Aurora framing Mom. You have to listen to Mom's explanation. Mom told me before that the company was in trouble, and she went to Uncle Harris to seek investment. You misunderstood."
Things hadn't reached the final stage yet, and Emily wasn't foolish enough to completely sever ties with the White family. She didn't care about being the White family's heiress; she wanted to be the Harris family's daughter.
But since she hadn't returned to the Harris family yet, she couldn't completely burn bridges with the White family.
Emily gave Nicole a look. On the way here, Emily had already found out what had happened tonight.
Nicole softened her tone and agreed, "Dean, Emily is right. Percy and I are innocent. I saw you were stressed about money, so I asked Percy out for dinner, hoping he would invest in the company."
"Dad, you've been with Mom for so many years. Don't you trust her?" Emily and Nicole played off each other. "Mom is devoted to you. How could she do anything to betray you?"
"Yes, Dean, we've been married for over ten years," Nicole said tearfully, looking very aggrieved. "I've always been dedicated to this family, and you still doubt me. Now, not only have we offended Percy, but your eldest daughter has also offended the Robinson family. Just wait for them to come for us."
Nicole deliberately shifted the blame to Aurora.
As expected, hearing Aurora's name, Dean turned furious. "That ungrateful girl."
Compared to Nicole's unfaithfulness, the immediate concern was how to deal with the Robinson family.
Emily and Nicole exchanged a glance, seeing that they had diverted Dean's attention. Emily, looking worried but actually adding fuel to the fire, said, "Dad, Leo holds grudges and will definitely come looking for revenge. Even if Aurora doesn't live with us anymore, she still carries the White name and is part of the White family. The Robinson family will hold the White family accountable, and then the White family will be finished."
Dean looked troubled, and his face was very grim.
Nicole added, "Aurora caused this mess, so she should be the one to fix it. Every debt has its debtor. Dean, if you want the Robinson family to leave us alone, there's only one way."
"What way?" Dean asked instinctively, showing his fear of the Robinson family.
A gleam of satisfaction flashed in Nicole's eyes. "Sever ties with Aurora. As long as she's not part of the White family, the Robinson family won't have a reason to trouble us."
Emily's heart leaped with joy, and she urged, "That's right, Dad. I think it's a good idea. Don't hesitate any longer. If the Robinson family comes by morning, it'll be too late."
Dean frowned. "But after all, Aurora is my daughter."
No matter how much he disliked Aurora, Dean had never thought of severing ties with her.
"Dad, if the White family is finished, there will be no place for the White family in Silvercrest City," Emily said bitterly, "You've worked hard all your life, and it will all be for nothing. Severing ties with Aurora will solve the Robinson family issue. As for Uncle Harris, I'll take Daniel to have coffee with him another day. For the sake of the Taylor family, today's matter will be over."
