Chapter 235 Summer and Loren Take You to Understand the True Meaning of Life
Aurora and her two kids made their way back to The White Villa. Dean was all cozy with his young girlfriend in his room, but as soon as he heard they were back, he sent her packing. "Bella, I'll catch you later. You should head home now."
Bella Grant, his girlfriend, wasn't too happy about it. She clung to Dean. "Dean, I can't sleep without you at night."
"Come on, please understand. My grandkids and daughter are here." Dean gently pried her hand off and called for the driver. "Milton, take Ms. Grant home."
Dean had really grown attached to Summer and Loren. He couldn't be all lovey-dovey with his young girlfriend in front of them, as it might set a bad example for the kids.
Milton, the driver, came in. "Ms. Grant, I'll take you home."
"Fine," Bella said reluctantly, blowing a kiss to Dean as she left, making him feel a bit flustered.
But as soon as Bella turned around, she threw a flirtatious wink at Milton, which Summer happened to catch.
Once Bella was gone, Dean turned to Aurora with a smile. "Hungry? I'll have Nurse whip up something right away."
Dean quickly had the servants prepare a meal with all the dishes Aurora and her kids liked.
Aurora spoke up, "Dad, you should really stop dating such young girlfriends. The age gap is just too much."
Dean had gone through several young girlfriends, each one young and beautiful. Bella was the latest, and she was a somewhat famous internet influencer.
At the mention of Bella, Dean's expression softened, as if his heart was already with her. "They're the ones chasing after me. Bella is gentle and kind. I've watched her for a long time; she's pure. Aurora, I want to marry her."
Aurora shot back, "You said the same thing about your last girlfriend."
Men really were consistent; they always liked young and pretty girls.
Dean chuckled awkwardly, "This time is different. This time it's serious."
"Okay. I'm going upstairs to take a nap. Call me when the food's ready." Aurora changed the subject.
Dean showed a bit of a fatherly side. "Alright, you go rest. I'll call you when it's ready."
Dean's attitude made Aurora feel a bit uncomfortable. She wanted to persuade him, but then she remembered she wasn't Dean's biological daughter, so she decided to drop it.
Dean had known from the beginning that she wasn't his biological daughter, so there was no need to say anything more.
Aurora went upstairs to rest while Loren noticed a lipstick mark on Dean's neck and teased, "Grandpa, still going strong?"
Dean's face turned red instantly, and he coughed awkwardly. "Loren, I got this while playing hide and seek with the young lady. Don't say nonsense."
Summer chimed in, "Grandpa, we're not three-year-olds."
Loren added, "We're five."
Hearing their words, Dean paused for a moment. Suddenly, he had an idea as he squatted between Summer and Loren. "Summer, Loren, how about I marry that young lady and make her your new grandma?"
Dean wanted to get married. Bella fit his criteria perfectly, but Aurora's attitude was clearly disapproving, so he turned to his grandkids.
Summer, in a mature and steady tone, advised, "Grandpa, marriage is a big deal. Think it over carefully."
Dean was momentarily speechless, being lectured by his five-year-old grandson.
"Loren," Dean then looked at Loren. "You wouldn't want to see your grandpa, at such an old age, without someone to take care of him, right?"
Loren let out a heavy sigh and exchanged a glance with Summer. "Summer, maybe we should be a bit cruel."
Summer nodded. "Grandpa, take us to your girlfriend's place now. After tonight, we won't help anymore."
"Now?" Dean was puzzled. "What for?"
Loren smiled. "To propose, of course."
Summer added, "Hurry up."
With that, the two headed out. Dean followed, thinking it wasn't necessary to rush, but Loren and Summer were already in the car, waving at him. "Grandpa, hurry up."
Dean got in the car. "Are we really going?"
Loren cupped his cute face while saying, "That young lady was so pretty. It would be a shame not to marry her."
Summer nodded. "Grandpa, drive. If you don't go, we'll change our minds."
Thinking of Bella's kiss before she left, Dean felt a surge of youthful passion. "Alright, let's give Bella a surprise. I've even got the ring ready. I'll be romantic for once."
Dean was quite generous with Bella and had even rented her an apartment in the city.
When they arrived at the apartment, Dean noticed his driver's car. "Looks like Bella just got back."
Immersed in the excitement of proposing, Dean didn't even think about why the driver's car was still parked there.
To surprise Bella, Dean didn't knock and directly used his key to open the door.
Summer and Loren stood outside. "Grandpa, you go in first. We'll wait here."
Dean remembered Bella's habit of wearing very little at home, which wasn't appropriate for the kids to see, so he went in alone.
As soon as Dean went in, Loren and Summer exchanged a glance while Loren started counting, "One, two, three."
Just as he reached three, Dean's furious voice came from inside. "What are you doing? You cheat."
"Dean, you misunderstood. My back was itchy, and Milton was just scratching it for me." Bella quickly made an excuse. She never expected Dean to come at this time.
Driver Milton also pleaded, "Mr. White, I was just helping Ms. Grant with an itch. Nothing else."
"You think I'm a fool? I'll deal with both of you!"
"Stop hitting me, Dean. I'm sorry." Bella's screams came from inside.
Meanwhile, Driver Milton ran out holding his clothes, and Summer and Loren stepped aside.
A few minutes later, Dean came out angrily. Summer asked, "Grandpa, still want to marry her?"
Looking at Summer and Loren, Dean suddenly realized that these two kids had known about the affair and had brought him here on purpose.
"How did you know they were having an affair?" Dean was puzzled. He hadn't noticed anything.
Summer tapped his head and said, "Using this, Grandpa. You were blinded by love and lost your judgment."
Loren, like a philosopher, said, "People in love are like blind men. You can't see me, I can't see you. And they say, 'Darling, don't leave. Without you, how can I live? You are my heart, you are my soul.'"
Seeing his performance, Summer and Dean were speechless.
Loren smiled sheepishly and returned to normal. "Sorry, I might have overacted a bit."
"Let's go home." Dean's face was dark, his mood gloomy. He felt his whole life had been filled with betrayal.
Nicole betrayed him. Bella betrayed him. As for Aurora's mother—he had raised her and another man's child, and in the end, he hadn't even touched a finger of her. Who was more miserable than him?
Loren thoughtfully said, "Grandpa, how about I introduce someone to you?"
Dean waved his hand. "No more marriage. From today on, I'll be a playboy." He couldn't take any more heartbreak.
