Chapter 283 Someone at the Door in the Middle of the Night

Allan and Todd were completely different types: one was very masculine, the other was charming and dashing. However, Todd couldn't fight. Lori always admired strength. In comparison, Todd really had no advantage, especially since Todd previously sent Lori to the detention center.

"Ms. Hernandez, Summer, Loren." Lucas saw them coming out of the police station and quickly approached. "Is everything alright? Let me take you home."

Lucas felt very guilty for not even looking after these two children properly. He had to personally give Aurora an explanation.

"Lucas, don't blame yourself. Today's incident was purely an accident," Loren could see Lucas's thoughts and comforted him.

Lucas felt even more guilty.

After they all got into the car together, Summer asked, "Lori, why are you here?"

"Your mommy had a premonition that you were in danger and sent me over. The car broke down halfway, so I hitched a ride." Lori said, "There really is a mother-child telepathy. Your mommy was indeed right."

"It seems that things on Daddy's side are not looking good, otherwise Sandra wouldn't have come over here." Summer said worriedly.

"Don't worry. Your daddy is strong. You all underestimate him. I remember once Mr. Lee brought dozens of people to surround him..." Lori realized she had said too much and awkwardly changed the subject, "We're almost there."

There had been many conflicts between Wolfpack and Nightfall before, and they had clashed quite a bit. Richard had even secretly led people to kill John.

But these things were not suitable to bring up, as they would only increase mutual hatred.

Before long, the car arrived at the Robinson family's villa.

Aurora was waiting in the living room. Seeing the two children return safely, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Sweethearts, let Mommy hug you." Aurora had been worried sick.

"Mommy, we're fine." Loren jumped into Aurora's arms, comforting her, "Luckily, Lori arrived in time. By the way, Mommy, Lori is amazing. She knocked them all into the water with one punch each."

Aurora hugged the two children, making sure they were not hurt, and then asked, "Lori, where's Sandra?"

"She ran away as I was too busy fighting with other people." Lori said, "Aurora, it's okay. The police have already issued a warrant, and there are so many villagers as witnesses."

Lucas stepped forward. "Aurora, I'm sorry. It was my mistake, and I almost let Loren and Summer get hurt."

"As long as they're back, it's fine." Aurora didn't blame him. After all, Sandra was targeting her.

Lucas felt quite bad. He wished Aurora would scold him a bit so he could feel better.

Lucas said, "Aurora, I've canceled Summer and Loren's participation in tomorrow's competition. They were frightened, and entering the entertainment industry might not be a good idea. It was my oversight."

Hearing that they couldn't participate in the competition, Loren was unhappy. "Lucas, we can't just let it go like this."

Loren really wanted to continue participating in the reality show. With such popularity, they might soon be able to pay off Daddy's debts.

Whatever Loren wanted to do, Summer always indulged him. So Summer promised, "Lucas, this was just an accident. Loren and I will be careful."

Lucas looked at Aurora. Before Aurora could utter a word of refusal, Summer quickly interjected, "Mommy, backing down in the face of adversity isn't the Lewis family's way. If you're worried, Gideon can escort us daily."

Lori volunteered, "Me too, Aurora. I can be their manager. I heard there are many handsome guys in the entertainment industry. Maybe I can find a boyfriend."

Aurora looked at Lori in surprise. This was the first time she had heard Lori say she wanted a boyfriend.

Lori's words also caught Lucas's attention, and his ears turned slightly red.

With Summer and Loren's pleading and Lori's close protection, Aurora finally agreed.

"Safety first. Just have fun. Daddy and Mommy don't expect you to really make money. After this reality show, you two can't mess around anymore."

"Okay, we'll listen to Mommy." Loren jumped up happily.

Lucas stayed at the Robinson family villa for a while and he left when the show crew called.

Loren started telling Aurora about today's events. Aurora was surprised to learn that the captain of the criminal investigation team had invited Lori to join.

Aurora instinctively said, "Are you kidding about becoming a police officer?"

Lori also felt embarrassed and said, "I didn't expect to be invited to be a police officer either."

Aurora asked, "Lori, what are you thinking about this?"

Lori thought for a moment and giggled. "That Allan quite fits my taste. He is quite handsome and muscular."

Aurora blinked. "Lori, I didn't expect you to have such a strong preference."

This was Lori's private affair, and Aurora was not in a position to offer advice. Actually, since Lori and Ava couldn't return to Wolfpack, working for the police wasn't a bad idea; at least they would have backing.

Sandra in Silvercrest City was always a threat.

Aurora called Alexander to ask if Sandra had contacted him.

Alexander replied he knew nothing about it. He was now focused on guarding the cemetery and had never left, nor did he care about The Shadow of Darkness organization.

Alexander didn't want to see the two sisters fighting and sent Aurora a ring.

This ring was a symbol of Mr. Lewis's identity in The Shadow of Darkness organization. With it, the organization's people would listen to Aurora.

When Aurora received the ring, she couldn't help but call Alexander to complain, "Alexander, why didn't you give me this earlier?"

Alexander said, "You never asked."

"Anyway, thanks." Aurora asked, "Aren't you coming to see your grandson?"

After the children were born, Alexander never came to visit.

"What's there to see? Just send more photos. I need to chat with your mom. That's it, bye."

Aurora immediately sent the ring to John in Aetheria. She thought John needed it more.

In the following days, Summer and Loren continued to partake in the reality show, their popularity soaring with each passing day. Lori thoroughly enjoyed her role as their manager. Whenever someone approached Summer and Loren for commercials, magazine shoots, or exclusive interviews, Lori took great pleasure in negotiating fees.

Aurora was reluctant for the two children to pursue careers in the entertainment industry, and Lori respected her wishes. Lori didn't agree to let Summer and Loren participate in advertisements or similar projects; she merely relished the process of bargaining.

After Sandra showed up once, she didn't appear again.

Nearly half a month after John left, one night, Aurora's eyelids kept twitching, and she vaguely heard the sound of a baby crying.

Aurora got out of bed and went to the nursery next door. When she opened the door and saw the person standing there, she was frozen.
