Chapter 204 John Overthought

Aurora was ready to roll. She hollered outside, "Uncle Bobcat, bring it in."

Right after she said that, Hank walked in with a few folks, each lugging two boxes. They set the boxes on the table, and everyone was dying to know what was inside.

Aurora popped one open, revealing stacks of cash. She dumped the money out, box after box, until it was a mountain of green on the table.

The dealers and clients were so stunned they jumped up, their faces showing pure shock. Aurora actually had a hundred million dollars.

"Is this enough?" Aurora shot a glance at Virgil. "If not, I can get more. Just so you know, I'm never short on cash." If they brought up money again, she'd drown them in it.

John looked at Aurora, all bossy and confident, and he couldn't help but feel a wave of affection. He loved seeing her like this.

Lori, on the other hand, felt a pang of heartbreak; this was all her money. Sure, she had hundreds of millions in the bank, but seeing a hundred million in cash right in front of her was something else.

Aurora blew her bangs out of her face and said, "Spending a hundred million to pick the right partners? Totally worth it. And remember, Wolfpack is stronger than you. Losing a few clients won't hurt me, but losing Wolfpack would be a huge blow for you."

In business, it was all about mutual benefit; that was called symbiosis.

Aurora had done her homework and knew these dealers and clients didn't have any top-notch partners. Their biggest profits came from working with Wolfpack.

She also knew they didn't really want to end the contract. Robert and Christopher had just stirred things up to get more out of it.

Seeing Aurora was serious, everyone started to freak out.

Virgil quickly said, "Ms. White, don't be so hasty. We've had a great relationship with Wolfpack for years. We can't just end it like that."

Aurora sneered, "If I remember right, Mr. Newman said he only recognized Robert. Whatever deals you had with him have nothing to do with me or Wolfpack."

Virgil smiled. "Ms. White, what kind of deal could I have with Robert? I was tricked by him before; it doesn't count."

Attitudes changed faster than the weather in spring. That was the power of money.

Others chimed in, "Ms. White, you invited us here so warmly. You don't really want to make things awkward, right? Wolfpack still has several batches of goods held up. You won't find buyers quickly."

"Ms. White, you can throw around a hundred million like it's nothing, but if Wolfpack keeps losing money, even you might not handle it. And we don't necessarily need Wolfpack." Some were still on the fence.

Aurora nodded. "I know, some of you have already been talking to The Shadow of Darkness. Since the contract is off, who you work with is your business. But a word of advice, think about The Shadow of Darkness's style before jumping in."

Everyone was shocked again.

Many had secretly reached out to The Shadow of Darkness, planning to switch sides. If it weren't for Robert and Christopher's tempting offers, they wouldn't be so hesitant.

But how did Aurora know? This new leader wasn't easy to mess with.

Tonight, they had planned to test Aurora to see if she could offer better terms, but they miscalculated.

Aurora didn't offer any terms; she just cut off all cooperation. Her words this time really made them panic. They couldn't control Aurora; she controlled them.

Aurora had the strength. Since taking over Wolfpack, she'd been sorting out all their dealings. She also figured out why these clients were hesitant and had Hank personally investigate.

These materials were freshly dug up through some serious investigation. Aurora was all set for this meeting.

Everyone exchanged glances, totally clueless about what to do next. They were all seasoned pros, but today, they were being outplayed by a girl in her twenties.

Aurora sat down and said, "Uncle Bobcat, get the termination contracts ready. Oh, and also the contracts for working with Nightfall. We're signing those tonight."

"Nightfall?" Everyone was floored.

"Ms. White, you want to team up with Nightfall? Haven't Wolfpack and Nightfall been at each other's throats for years?"

"Yeah, we never heard anything about working with Nightfall before."

Aurora's words shocked not just the dealers and clients, but also Hank and Lori. When did they plan to work with Nightfall? Wouldn't it be awkward if the deal was a bluff?

"There are no eternal enemies, only eternal interests," Aurora said, her face expressionless. "I forgot to introduce the guy next to me. He's from Nightfall..."

Aurora glanced at John and continued, "This is Mr. Lewis, Nightfall's rep for our new partnership."

Everyone turned to John in unison.

John adjusted his glasses, subtly showing off a ring that marked his Nightfall affiliation. With a faint smile, he said, "Nightfall is honored to work with Wolfpack."

All eyes were on the ring, and they were stunned. He really was from Nightfall. More importantly, he had the ring. Even if he wasn't the top dog, he was a big deal in Nightfall.

When they first came in, they hadn't paid much attention to John. He hadn't spoken, was dressed casually, and looked pretty mild-mannered. They thought he was just some low-level staffer at Wolfpack, so they ignored him. Now, hearing he was from Nightfall, they were floored.

When John spoke, his whole vibe changed, radiating an invisible pressure.

Rumors had it that Wolfpack and Nightfall were enemies, but seeing them together now, those rumors were squashed.

John was from Nightfall? Lori and Ava exchanged glances, deep in thought.

Hank's expression shifted, and he gave John a few more looks.

Aurora's move to bring in Nightfall, combined with the termination money, made a strong statement. The distributors and clients quickly fell in line, not only keeping their contracts but also offering a two-percent concession to smooth things over.

After dinner, Aurora and John left together in a car, making sure everyone saw them. This was to prove the authenticity of the alliance between Nightfall and Wolfpack.

Lori, Ava, and Hank took separate cars.

John was driving, but he didn't head towards Lori's place. Instead, he turned at an intersection.

Aurora noticed the route was off and got annoyed. "John, where are you taking me?"

"Aurora, how about we grab a bite? I noticed you didn't eat much earlier."

Aurora was about to say it wasn't necessary, but seeing John unconsciously rub his knee, she softened.

"I want pasta."

"Okay." John immediately took her to a nearby restaurant, ordered pasta for both of them.

Bringing out John today was a spur-of-the-moment decision. Aurora said, "It was just a temporary move. The cooperation doesn't have to count."

"The contracts are signed; how can it not count?" John smiled. "Aurora, I know you suggested working with Nightfall to smooth things over between them. And you were thinking of me. Richard was right to trust you with Wolfpack."

John had planned to help, but in the situation just now, he didn't need to step in at all. Moreover, he saw a wise, calm, and impressive side of Aurora anew.

At the start, Aurora used psychological tactics to break the distributors' defenses, turning a passive situation into an active one. Even a man might not have pulled off what Aurora did.

Aurora rolled her eyes at John, saying insincerely, "Who was thinking of you? I was just scaring them."
