Chapter 370 Any Secret Will Be Leaked
Aurora quickly understood John's intention.
Now her suspicion had not been cleared, and in the eyes of everyone, she was still a murderer.
Allan was just giving John a favor, temporarily letting her come back, but she had to go to the station to give a statement early tomorrow morning.
There were still police watching outside the Lewis family home to prevent her from running away.
At dawn, she would have to go with them.
John held Aurora's shoulders and spoke, "Aurora, I will protect you."
"I believe you."
Aurora nestled in John's arms. With Wade, she was always on edge, not daring to let her guard down. Now, with him by her side, she could finally relax completely and rely on this strong support.
Just as they were having a tender moment, John's phone rang.
It was Alexander calling.
John glanced at Aurora, "It's your dad, he must know you're back."
"Let me take it." Aurora answered the phone, "Alexander."
She had never called Alexander "Dad."
Hearing Aurora's voice, Alexander was moved to tears, "You're back? Are you hurt? Is Jax okay?"
With such a big commotion at night, Alexander naturally knew.
"Everything's fine," Aurora reassured him, "Sorry to make you worry."
"It's not just me who's worried, your mom is too. She wants to talk to you..."
"I'm a bit tired today, Alexander. Let's talk another day if there's anything." Aurora interrupted Alexander. She wasn't avoiding talking to Wendy, she just instinctively didn't know what to say. Talking over the phone like this, she didn't know what to say even more.
Aurora paused and added, "Tell her I'm fine, no need to worry."
After saying that, Aurora hung up the phone.
On the other end, Wendy naturally heard Aurora's words. Her daughter didn't want to talk to her, and as a mother, Wendy was certainly upset.
"Wendy, don't take it to heart. Our daughter, don't we know her well? She's stubborn but soft-hearted, just like you."
Alexander tried to comfort her, but his words only added fuel to the fire.
Wendy's face darkened, "Alexander, are you mocking me?"
"No, I mean, Aurora is stubborn, just like you were back then, but inside she's..." soft.
Before he could finish, Wendy stormed off in anger.
Wendy got up and walked to her room, leaving Alexander staring at her back, stunned.
This was a presidential suite with three bedrooms, one for Wendy, one for Alexander, and one for Samuel.
Samuel came out and happened to see Wendy entering her room with a cold face.
The door closed.
Samuel looked at the closed door, then at Alexander in the living room. He walked over, "What did you do to upset her this time?"
"I don't know. We were just talking fine." Alexander took a sip of tea, "Wendy's temper is getting weirder, it's hard to understand."
"I haven't seen Wendy get angry in over ten years." Samuel glanced at Alexander, "Since she met you, she's been angry every day."
"What do you mean?" Alexander clearly annoyed, "Is she only displeased with me? I once had a wizard tell me that we were incompatible. Seems like he was right."
Samuel shook his head. Not to mention Wendy getting angry, even his mild temper was about to snap.
How could Alexander not understand the meaning behind the words?
A woman only gets angry at one man, why?
It means she cares.
"I'm going to sleep." Samuel didn't want to talk to Alexander anymore.
"Samuel, wait." Alexander grabbed Samuel's hand and pulled him back, "Tell me, you and Wendy these past ten years, you two, Wendy she..."
Alexander stammered.
Samuel naturally understood what Alexander was trying to say and deliberately spoke, "Wendy and I have been living together."
This hit Alexander hard.
"L-living together all this time!" Alexander forced a smile, which looked worse than crying, "You're gentle, understand women, thoughtful and meticulous, unlike me, uneducated, unromantic. It's no surprise Wendy chose you."
Samuel was surprised that Alexander would say such things.
Twenty years ago, Alexander would have started a fight.
Today, it was strange, so generous?
Samuel's intention was to provoke Alexander, but it seemed he had gone too far.
"I and Wendy..."
Before Samuel could finish, Alexander stood up, patted his shoulder, "I'm going to sleep."
The next day.
Aurora went to the police station early to give a statement. Lori also went, as she was more familiar with the events of that night.
She had pretended to be Aurora to deal with those people at the bar.
Aurora didn't kill Helen, so she naturally wouldn't admit it, and Wade also insisted that it was Sandra who hired someone to kill Helen, and it had nothing to do with him.
Aurora's suspicion was partially cleared. As long as they caught Sandra, she would be completely exonerated, and the case could be closed.
With John as a guarantor, Aurora was released after giving her statement. No one dared to detain her.
Aurora came out first and waited in the car for Lori.
John was on the phone not far away. Lori came out and got in the car. Aurora asked, "Lori, how did you get away that night? Are you really okay?"
The drink Sandra gave Lori had a problem.
Later, Lori turned off her earpiece, so Aurora didn't know what happened to Lori afterward.
"It's nothing, just a little drink, no big deal." Lori didn't dare tell the truth. If she told about what happened with Todd, how could she face anyone?
Aurora believed her and didn't suspect anything.
But any secret will eventually come out. In less than half a day, everyone in Nightfall and the Lewis family knew that Lori had slept with Todd.
When Aurora found out, she was shocked, "Did they get the wrong script?"
John was also surprised, "Todd was the bottom?"
Gary laughed when he found out, "I knew those two had something going on."
Ava was the most difficult to accept this fact. She pulled Lori into a room and asked, "Did you really lose your virginity? You slept with... Todd?"
Lori couldn't even look Ava in the eye, feeling guilty, "I was tricked by Sandra and drank the spiked drink, I couldn't control myself."
"How is that possible? You've tried all kinds of strong drugs and never lost control, unless you..."
"Lori, Lori."
Todd's voice came from downstairs.
Lori immediately covered Ava's mouth, "I'll explain later, I need to go deal with Todd first."
This matter suddenly blew up, and Lori was sure it was Todd's doing.
Lori stormed downstairs, but before she could accuse him, Todd struck first, "Shrew, did you spread the word? Now my reputation is ruined, I can't face anyone. My parents know I was, was..."
Todd looked heartbroken and couldn't bring himself to say it, pounding his chest in pain, "I've been kicked out, they say I've disgraced the family, lost my purity. Shrew, tell me, when are you going to marry me? If you dare abandon me, I'll, I'll... hang myself."
Lori was speechless.
Lori heard noise upstairs, someone was coming, she pulled Todd, "Let's talk outside."
Lori and Todd's matter was like a tornado, coming fast and furious.
The two were gone for a long time.
In the evening, Aurora was at home with the kids, and John was preparing for the wedding.
A servant suddenly reported, "Mrs. Lewis, there's someone outside claiming to be your brother."
