Chapter 165 Jane was Kicked out
The Shadow of Darkness sent an assassin after Aurora, and this was no joke.
John immediately told the secret guards to hunt down the assassin and assigned two guards to protect Aurora.
John was worried that the Shadow of Darkness knew Aurora was his weak spot and would target her again.
Helen was still out cold, showing no signs of waking up.
After visiting Helen, Aurora went back to the Lewis Mansion with John.
Summer tagged along with Todd to Nightfall’s branch in SilverCrest City.
As soon as they walked into the hall, Aurora heard Jane’s voice coming from upstairs.
Lenora walked over and said, “Ms. White, Mr. Lewis, Ms. Torres has been shouting all morning.”
She really was full of energy.
Aurora looked at John, raising an eyebrow. “Your woman, you deal with her.”
John corrected her. “She has nothing to do with me.”
In other words, she didn't count as his woman.
Jane was still shouting upstairs, and Aurora couldn't take it anymore. “Too noisy.”
John immediately ordered, “Throw her out.”
“Yes, Mr. Lewis.” Two servants went upstairs and soon dragged Jane down.
Jane cursed, “What are you doing? How dare you lowly people touch me? I am the future mistress of Lewis Family. When Mr. Lewis comes back…”
Upon seeing Aurora and John in the living room, Jane swallowed the rest of her words.
Last night, Jane was taken away before the banquet ended, so she didn’t know what happened afterward.
Suddenly seeing a handsome man sitting in the living room, she was stunned.
When Jane married John, he wore a scarred mask, making him look terrifying. She had never seen John’s true face.
So, Jane didn’t recognize John.
Aurora lazily lay on the sofa with her head on John’s lap like a cat, and John dotingly fed Aurora fruit. Their posture was too intimate.
This scene deeply provoked Jane. She shook off her reverie and returned to her senses, angrily pointing at Aurora. “You slut, is this the father of those two bastards? Aurora, you’re shameless, openly bringing a man into the Lewis Mansion. What do you take Lewis Family for?”
Aurora raised an eyebrow and couldn’t help but laugh. She reached over and pinched John’s face, openly admitting, “Yep, this is my man.”
John paused for a moment, instantly pleased, and in a good mood, fed Aurora another piece of orange, “Baby, have another bite.”
“That’s a bit sour, I want an apple.” Aurora said.
“Okay, I’ll peel one for you right away.”
The two showed affection as if no one else was around.
Jane was extremely furious. She glanced at the servants standing aside and harshly said, “Are you all blind? Aurora brought a man here, and you can’t see it? Where is Mr. Lewis?”
Jane had already imagined how to tell John about Aurora’s misdeeds, finding a man and cheating on John. This was solid evidence.
Unexpectedly, Lenora said, “That is Mr. Lewis.”
Jane was utterly shocked.
Lenora happily said, “Mr. Lewis’s illness is cured, thanks to Dr. Collins.”
“Mr. Lewis?” Jane looked at John, stammering and feeling surreal, and almost fainted.
This incredibly handsome man in front of her was actually the ugly Mr. Lewis?
“Throw her out.” John didn’t even lift his eyelids.
Jane didn’t want to admit it, but John’s aura hadn’t changed, making her believe the person in front of her was John.
Suddenly, Jane broke free from the servants and ran towards John. “John, listen to me. I faked my pregnancy because I love you so much. I wanted to come back to you but was afraid you’d be unhappy.”
Jane watched John’s face closely and kept going, “By the way, Aurora’s been lying to you. Summer and Loren, those two kids, they’re hers. I’ve got proof, but Aurora had someone steal it. If you don’t believe me, you can do a test.”
Jane knew John hated being lied to. Now that her fake pregnancy was out in the open, John wouldn’t let her off easy. But no matter what he did to her, she was determined to take Aurora down with her.
Aurora looked at Jane, expressionless. Honestly, she couldn’t figure Jane out at all.
On one hand, she teamed up with Wade, and on the other, she claimed to love John.
John’s eyes narrowed, looking coldly at Jane, “Get out. Don’t let me see you in SilverCrest City again, or you know the consequences.”
Hearing this, Jane trembled with fear.
John didn’t want to waste words on someone like Jane and had her thrown out directly. The way she was thrown out was the same as Rex and Wade.
Finally, the world quieted down.
Aurora yawned. “I’m a bit sleepy.”
“Okay.” John lifted Aurora in his arms and carried her upstairs.
Rolling on the soft bed, Aurora happily sprawled out, while John started opening the wardrobe to get clothes and took off his coat.
“What are you doing?” Seeing this, Aurora suddenly sat up from the bed, “It’s broad daylight, I just want to take a nap, don’t mess around.”
John was amused by Aurora’s reaction.
“Aurora.” John propped his hands on the edge of the bed, leaning over, and with a seductive voice, said, “I just want to take a shower. What are you thinking?”
“I wasn’t thinking anything.” Aurora blushed, silently turning her face away. Although John was fully dressed, she couldn’t help but imagine his physique, those muscles, making her heart race and hormones surge.
John raised his lips, lightly scraping Aurora’s nose. “Not teasing you, I’m going to shower.”
After saying that, John really went to the bathroom.
Aurora was left feeling a bit at a loss.
Aurora, originally feeling a bit drowsy, now found herself unable to sleep. Listening to the sound of water in the bathroom, her mind was even more restless. Suddenly, there was a loud sound from the bathroom.
“John, what happened?” Aurora’s heart skipped a beat. She immediately jumped off the bed and ran to the bathroom door.
It was quiet inside.
Aurora was worried that John might have fainted inside.
Concern clouded her judgment. Aurora turned the doorknob and went in. In the large bathroom, John was lying still in the bathtub.
“John.” Seeing that, Aurora immediately became anxious.
Aurora reached out to pull John, but suddenly, John grabbed her hand and pulled her into the bathtub.
John kissed Aurora’s lips, and they both sank into the water, their bodies overlapping.
After the kiss ended, they sat up from the water, Aurora’s clothes completely soaked.
“John, you tricked me again, you bastard.”
Aurora cursed angrily, feeling foolish for worrying just now.
“Aurora.” John cupped Aurora’s face, gazing into her eyes with a desire to merge her into his very being.
John’s passionate voice made Aurora laugh, and she lightly punched John’s chest. “Be serious, don’t do these things to seduce me. Your wound got wet, get up quickly, I’ll re-bandage it.”
John sighed in frustration, “I can’t do anything particularly intimate with you, so this is all I can do.”
Aurora couldn’t help but laugh, and the phone rang in the bedroom—it was John’s phone.
“Aurora, can you answer it for me?”
“Okay.” Aurora wrapped herself in a dry towel and went out. She and John had no secrets now, so answering a phone call was no big deal.
It was an unfamiliar number. Aurora picked up the phone, and a clear woman’s voice came through, “John, it’s Jennifer. I’m back.”
