Chapter 153 I Believe You Will Come back

Seeing Lloyd suddenly give in, Rex and Wade froze for a second.

When Aurora heard Lloyd was getting bullied, even though she knew he was mostly faking it, her sense of justice kicked in. She called out, "Lloyd, come over here."

"Alright." He quickly moved behind Aurora, puffing on his cigar. His eyes narrowed, looking like a sly fox.

He even winked at Wade and Rex, as if to say, "You guys have a lot to learn."

Wade's frustration boiled over, and his face darkened. "Grandpa, John's already in trouble. Are you just gonna watch the Lewis Group fall apart?"

Rex was also ticked off by Lloyd's favoritism. "Dad, they're all your grandkids. Wade grew up under your watch too. How is he any worse than John?"

"Too greedy," Lloyd said, holding his cigar. "In business, integrity and thinking of others are key for long-term success, not just quick wins. Wade, Rex, you're both too aggressive, even willing to hurt your own family. If the Lewis Family ends up in your hands, it'll collapse."

Wade lost it. "What nonsense, Grandpa. Wasn't John ruthless too? When I was ten, he pushed me into the pool, and I almost died. Did you say anything to him? You're just biased."

"Ah," Lloyd sighed. "If John really wanted to hurt you, you wouldn't be alive today."

If Lloyd hadn't been persuading John last time, given the father and son's previous plot to cause a car accident that nearly killed John, they would have been shark food long ago.

"John's already dead, so talking about this is pointless," Wade snapped. "Grandpa, sign the papers, or you're not leaving this room."

"Can't reason with us so you want to use force?" Aurora glanced at the share transfer documents. "Why don't you just have Lloyd give you the entire Lewis Family? You're really shameless. Instead of working hard, you just thought about the shares from the Lewis Group. You even tried to force Lloyd to sign the share transfer contract. You were truly despicable."

Aurora's casual remark labeled Wade and Rex as freeloaders, which was indeed embarrassing.

Their faces turned red with anger.

Rex was furious. "You're just an outsider. What right do you have to meddle here?"

"So what if I'm an outsider? Can't I speak the truth?" Aurora shot back. "Look at you, fifty years old and still leeching off your family. They say if the son is unworthy, it's the father's fault. I guess Wade is just following your example. Have you ever reflected on yourself?"

"I'm not leeching off my family. The Lewis Family's assets are partly mine."

"What's yours? John is the one who truly holds power in the Lewis family. The clothes you wear and the food you eat are bought with the dividends John earned. You take from the Lewis Family without any shame. Do you even have any dignity?"

Aurora was in a heated argument with Rex and Wade.

"You've lived half your life and still don't get it. What a waste."

Aurora then pointed at Wade and said, "And you, stop pretending to be a good guy. Saying you're unwilling and that Grandpa is biased. You're just jealous of John. What a lunatic. You're not as good as John in any way. You've always seen John as an imaginary enemy, living in his shadow. Aren't you tired? John never even considered you a threat. Stop being so dark."

"You've been scheming for ages, haven't you? If you're so smart, why not use it for something good? All you do is fight your own family. Are you even part of the Lewis Family? Truly, as the beam above is crooked, so is the beam below," she added.

Rex and Wade turned beet red with anger and shame.

Aurora turned to Lloyd and said, "Sorry, Lloyd, I hope you're not mad at what I said."

Lloyd smiled kindly. "It's fine. These two are indeed out of line. Granddaughter-in-law, you give them a lesson for me."

He then sternly said to Wade and Rex, "You two better listen up. If you don't learn your lesson, I can't help you."

Wade was so angry at Aurora that he felt extremely depressed. "Ms. White, John is already in trouble. Do you think you can still hold your position as the designated head of the Lewis Family? What right do you have..."

"Mr. Wade Lewis, something's wrong. Mr. John Lewis is back." Before Wade could finish, a servant rushed in, trembling as he said, "You should go see. Mr. John Lewis walked in, and he's not limping."

Hearing this, Wade was shocked and exchanged a fearful glance with Rex.

Hearing that John was back, Aurora happily headed outside, while Lloyd also went down with his cane.

In the banquet hall, the entire room fell silent at John's return, and everyone was unable to hide their shock.

As John walked in, he exuded a restrained nobility. His black shirt and well-tailored trousers made him look tall and elegant. His shirt sleeves were rolled up, and there was a wound on his forehead with dried blood.

His clothes also had bloodstains, his hair was a bit messy and his bangs fell down, giving him a wild charm amidst his disheveled appearance.

His clean, chiseled face exuded a cold handsomeness, his deep eyes gleaming with a cold light, a mix of unruliness and wildness.

The women in the room almost screamed for John.

The head of the Lewis Family not only wasn't crippled, but his face was also perfect. That was really a face that could outshine all male stars in Hollywood.

Emily's gaze was also drawn to him. That face, she knew it well. Wasn't that Aurora's ex-boyfriend, the poor loser?

Emily was shocked. So that was John, the head of the Lewis Family.

She had been deceived.

Everyone in SilverCrest City had been deceived.

John had played a very big game.

Emily was filled with regret. If she had known John was so handsome, why would she have married Daniel?

John held the real power in the Lewis Family. If she had married John, she would have been the head lady of the Lewis Family.

The Lewis Family's extended members also had varied expressions. They also had been thoroughly deceived by him.

Sam and Tyler followed behind John, both also injured to varying degrees.

The three of them looked like they had returned from hell, and wherever they went, the guests were silent and fearful, making way for them.

Aurora's eyes reddened as she watched John return safely. She looked at him, while John walked towards her step by step.

Among the thousands of guests, John's gaze was fixed on Aurora.

When he reached Aurora, John's cold expression softened instantly, his eyes filled with endless tenderness. His voice low and profound, he said, "Aurora, I'm back."

Aurora was so cheerful that she jumped into John's arms. John hugged her, a smile appearing on his face.

Aurora cupped his face, looking at him intently. She wiped the blood from his forehead. "I knew you would come back. I believed you would come back."
