Chapter 70 Loren Defeats Leo

Randy gave a wry smile and said, "Summer, I'm just trying to reunite you with your brother. It's not safe for him to be out there alone. Bringing him to the island means you'll have company too."

Summer's clear eyes stared at Randy, looking very serious and stern. "Randy, don't get any ideas about my brother. I don't want him coming to the island."

Now knowing that Summer knew his true intentions, Randy laughed awkwardly. "It was just a suggestion. If you don't want me to go looking forhim, I won't. I'm just worried, you know. It's pitiful for someone so young to be wandering outside."

Summer replied, "Anyone who runs into my brother is the one to be pitied."

"What do you mean?" Randy asked.

Summer didn't say anything more. He took a sip of water, and continued practicing.

Growing up together, Summer naturally understood his brother, who was clever and full of tricks. Surviving wouldn't be difficult for him.

That's why, despite Summer's anxiety over him, he hadn't gone looking for him.

Right now, Summer was still too weak. Only when he became stronger, surpassing Mr. Lewis, could he go find his brother.

Randy pouted dejectedly, snorted, and put his hands behind his back.

"Randy, who pissed you off? Where's Summer?" Gary said as he walked in after spending some time outdoors..

"Figure that out yourself," Randy said, petulantly. He was throwing a tantrum.

Gary saw through it immediately and asked, "Did Summer upset you again?"

It was better not to mention it, but since Gary had brought up the subject, Randy stopped in his tracks like a wronged child and complained, "Gary, I was just trying to do Summer a favor by offering to look for his brother, but he didn't appreciate it. Do you think it's easy for me to worry about things like that at my age?"

"Summer has a brother?" Gary was surprised; he really didn't know about this.

The only person who knew that Summer had a brother wasRandy.

"I only found out recently. The two brothers got separated just before I met Summer. We don't know where the other kid is now." Randy felt very regretful for not finding both kids.

Gary said quietly, "Are you sure you're trying to find Summer's brother purely out of the kindness? Or are you trying to lure him to the island?"

"How can it be called luring when I'm doing this to bring talent to Nightfall? Look at how much potential Summer has shown since he came here. From what Summer said, his brother is equally as skilled as he is." Randy rubbed his hands with glee.

Gary nodded. "So you do want to lure him here."

Randy fell silent.

Anyway, that was Randy's intention. Now that it was exposed, he didn't bother hiding it anymore.

"You've seen Summer's talent. Don't you want to take on another apprentice?" Randy said, trying to persuade Gary to agree.

Everyone desires talent.

Among the new batch of kids on the island, only Summer showed talent in medicine, and he was an all-rounder in terms of his skills.

Other kids excelled in shooting, information technology, close combat, or long-range command.

But none of them had the potential to rise as a successor for Nightfall. They could be soldiers, but not leaders.

Gary was also tempted and pondered for a while. "If Summer won't allow it, we'll have to look for him in secret."

"I was thinking the same," Randy said, glad to have finally found someone on his side. "I can't leave the island, so Gary, the task of finding him falls on you."

Gary looked at Randy. "I can't leave the island either."

The island's rules stated that without special reasons, no one could leave. Gary usually didn't like going out anyway, preferring to stay in the lab to conduct research.

Asking him to find someone was a futile endeavor.

The two exchanged a glance and said in unison, "Tyler."

Tyler was the best at finding people. Entrusting this task to him was a sure bet.

Tyler was also often out on missions, which would facilitate his search.

Randy and Gary went to find Tyler. Hearing that they needed help finding someone, Tyler patted his chest and said, "No problem."

Aurora was discharged from the hospital two days later, and Ashley insisted that she go to the Robinson family home to recuperate.

Aurora couldn't refuse Ashley's request and temporarily stayed at the Robinson family home with Loren.

Aurora chose to stay there to avoid trouble.

Since Aurora had been hospitalized, Nicole and Dean visited every day. Daniel sent a bouquet of flowers daily.

While staying with the Robinsons, she didn't have to worry about dealing with these people, at least for a little while.

Loren, being smart and adorable, filled Ashley with joy. Ashley liked Loren very much and pampered him, even building a small playground for Loren to play in.

With Loren, the Robinson family home was no longer lifeless. In fact, it became much livelier and was filled with laughter every day.

Kevin, returning from social engagements daily, would hear his wife and Loren's laughter at the door, which greatly improved his mood.

Loren was a ball of sunshine, and everyone liked him.

But not everyone was happy.

Previously, Leo was the most favored in the family. Now, with Aurora and Loren moving in, Leo felt neglected.

That made him very upset, but he couldn't compete with Loren.

One day, Leo was playing games in the game room. Just as he was really getting into it,the power suddenly went out.

"Loren!" Leo gritted his teeth and shouted, holding the game controller.

"Grandma, uncle is being mean to me again," Loren said, looking scared.

Ashley immediately rushed to the scene. "Leo, if you're ever mean to Loren again, I'll deduct another hundred thousand dollars from your allowance this month."

Leo felt truly helpless.

That night, to get back at Loren, Leo caught a frog and put it in Loren's bed before happily going back to his own room.

Leo waited all night but didn't hear Loren's frightened scream. He fell asleep while waiting.

The next morning, Leo woke up feeling groggy and suddenly felt something moving in his bed.

Leo lifted the blanket and screamed, jumping up in fright.

Dozens of frogs were hopping around the bed, with several jumping onto Leo, whose face was twisted in fear.

Loren stood at the door, laughing heartily at the sight.

"Loren, I'm not done with you!" Leo howled.

Loren complained, "Grandma, uncle is being mean to me again."

Ashley arrived in three seconds and said, "Leo, that's another hundred thousand dollars off your allowance this month. If you're mean to Loren again, you'll have to move out."

Leo was on the verge of tears.

"Mom, do you even still want me as your son?"

"You're in your twenties, still doing nothing all day. You really don't resemble either your father or me in any way. Maybe we should ask the hospital if there was a mix-up when you were born." Ashley held Loren's hand, her tone changing immediately. "Loren, I'll get you something delicious to eat, and then we'll go out to play."

Leo felt helpless and betrayed by his own biological mother.

"Okay," Loren said obediently, making a face at Leo when Ashley wasn't looking.

"What a brat." Leo gritted his teeth in anger, but there was nothing he could do.

Leo kept losing but continued to fight, showing great resilience.

After dozens of rounds, Leo's allowance had dwindled down to nothing. He surrendered and snuck into Loren's room at midnight. "I give up. Stop messing with me. Let's call a truce and live in peace."

Loren sat cross-legged on the bed, looking triumphant. Blinking his big eyes, he held his chubby face in his hands. "Uncle, you're a lousy opponent. You give up so easily."
