Chapter 96 Let Me Be A Part of Your Life

Aurora was scared.

Given John's skills in the bed, if they did it again, she couldn't handle it.

Aurora glared at John.

One had a leg injury, and the other had a cold, yet both were restless.

That was crazy.

Aurora ran her hand over John's chest. "If you had less muscle and more fat, I might manage."

"Oh? So, you like my looks?" John's smile grew wider, and he was thinking he should show off more.

Aurora didn't argue. Her body was honest even if her mouth said no. She couldn't keep being hypocritical.

Thinking about those two kids made Aurora sad.

"John, come on, you've seen women before. Ever thought about finding another woman?"

Aurora had thought about it. If John had another woman, she could end things cleanly.

However, John was set on her.

John paused, seeing through Aurora's thoughts. "Don't ask that again. If the answer changes, I'll let you know."

In other words, he only chose Aurora for now.

Aurora said, "I want to nap a bit longer."

"Okay." John tucked her in and left.

He sounded disappointed.

Aurora listened to his footsteps, her heart pounding with each step...

"John," Aurora sat up and called out. She quickly got out of bed, ran over, and jumped to hook her arms around John's neck.

John caught her legs, his deep eyes staring, unsure of her intentions.

"John." Aurora clung to him like a koala. "I have news about those two kids from back then. Even if they weren't born out of my will, I brought them into this world. I have to find and take care of them. Can you accept me, a woman with two kids?"

Aurora didn't want to keep bickering; she wanted to be straightforward.

John stayed silent, just staring at her.

Aurora grew more panicked. "I know that a noble and traditional family like The Lewis Family wouldn't accept a woman with two kids. John, I'm not sure if we have a future. If you still like me now, I'll stay with you until you don't. I won't ask for anything or any title."

"Aurora, marry me."

John interrupted her.

Aurora felt like she was hearing things. "What did you say?"

"Marry me." John smiled, his gaze tender and doting. "Before you even mentioned it, I already knew about you looking for those kids. You women are just so contradictory."

"You knew ?" Aurora was stunned, quickly realizing. "Did Sophia tell you?"

John's nose touched hers, his voice deep. "I am your spring."

Aurora smiled, moved.

Indeed, Sophia told him.

"John, you really don't mind those two kids?"

John chuckled. "Do you want the truth or a lie?"

Aurora replied, "The truth."

"I mind," John said honestly, "But no amount of minding can outweigh my desire to be with you, Aurora. Life is only a hundred years long. I've already lived a third of it. For the remaining two-thirds, I hope you will be with me."

In a hundred-year life, many people never find someone to spend it with.

Aurora smiled and gently pecked John's lips. "Mr. Lewis, I am willing to spend the rest of my life with you."

Once the load was off, Aurora felt much more at ease, almost like she was back in the passionate days of her relationship with John.

When two people were together, it was not about family background but shared values and souls.

After dinner, Aurora left the Meadow Brook villa and went back to The Robinson family.

Ashley was in the hall writing a guest list for invitations, with Loren helping out.

"Ashley, what's this for?"

"Aurora, you're back. I'm planning a charity gala to raise funds for kids in the mountains," Ashley said. "Seeing those kids suffer breaks my heart."

Loren added, "Aurora, those kids are really pitiful. Some, like me, don't have parents."

Aurora patted Loren's head. "I'll help you find them."

Then she asked Ashley, "Ashley, when's the charity gala?"

"This weekend," Ashley said. "Aurora, you should come too."

Aurora replied, "Okay."

She saw The Taylor family's name on the guest list. "Ashley, you invited The Taylor family?"

"We invite them every year. Aurora, any thoughts on this?"

"No, just asking."

Aurora thought of Emily. To be fair, Emily hadn't caused any trouble since the last incident.

Aurora took some medicine and still felt weak. After playing with Loren for a while, she went to rest.

The next day at work, she found out all the secretaries had been replaced by men, and she was promoted to John's assistant.

Aurora found it amusing. John was really jealous.

The company was buzzing about Aurora being close to Wade. John directly transferred her to his side, making things even more lively.

Everyone speculated it was a case of two guys vying for the same girl.

Rex found Wade. "Wade, what's with the rumors? Are you really interested in Aurora?"

Wade laughed. "Dad, Aurora is Kevin's goddaughter. Kevin promised shares in Robinson Group as her dowry when she gets married. Plus, Aurora is pretty and capable. With her, we'd be even stronger."

"That's true, but John clearly likes her, too. Five years ago, you hid Jennifer..." Rex stopped abruptly. "Wade, don't touch John's sore spot. He doesn't have much time left. If we're patient, we'll get through this."

"Dad, after John taught you a lesson, you've become timid," Wade said disdainfully. "Five years ago, I could seriously hurt him. Five years later, I can do the same. Leave it to me. I know what I'm doing."

Aurora's role as an assistant was just a title without real work.

Whenever she wanted to do something, John wouldn't let her, just telling her to eat, drink, and watch shows.

The reason was that Aurora was a patient.

Aurora retorted, "My cold is long gone."

"Even so, you need to rest for a week." John carried the restless Aurora back to the break room, placed her on the bed, and covered her with a blanket. "Sleep."

Aurora couldn't help but laugh. "John, I'm going to become useless."

"Then let Elena take you shopping and to the spa."

Aurora sighed, "Forget it. I'll just sleep."

For the next few days, Aurora slept, watched shows, played games, and occasionally handed John a glass of water.

She was supposed to be at work, but it turned into accompanying John at work.

Time flew by, and soon it was the day of the charity gala.

Ashley took Loren to the gala venue early, while Aurora went with Sophia.

But today was unlucky. Just as they arrived at the hotel entrance, they ran into Emily and Daniel.

If Aurora had known what was going to happen next, she would have turned around and left. But there were no ifs.
