Chapter 372: Eradicate the Threat Completely
Aurora nodded, "Yes, next Saturday, Jack..."
Before she could finish, a wailing voice came from outside.
"Dad, please save Wade, he's your own grandson!"
It was Rex.
Aurora frowned and said to Jack, "Jack, you go upstairs and rest for a while, we'll talk later."
"Okay." Jack followed Aurora's suggestion and went upstairs.
As he reached the staircase, he looked back at the hall, his gaze inscrutable.
Wade was detained, awaiting judgment. Rex couldn't sit still and had to come to the Lewis Villa, swallowing his pride.
Rex cried bitterly, and as soon as he entered the hall, he knelt in front of Lloyd, "Dad, please save Wade, he's my only son, and he carries the Lewis family blood."
Using family ties right off the bat, how could Lloyd resist?
Aurora sneered and said, "It's really strange, every descendant of the Lewis family is supposed to be upright, but how did such a ruthless and cold-hearted person come from you? This doesn't seem like the Lewis family style at all."
The implication was that Wade wasn't a Lewis family member.
Rex was furious at these words, but he didn't dare to do anything to Aurora.
Rex knelt in front of Lloyd, holding Lloyd's hand with a look of guilt and remorse, "Dad, it's all my fault for not teaching him well. Wade grew up under your watch. He did compete with John, but it was always healthy competition for the good of the family. Since last time, Wade has realized his mistake. This time, it must be that Angela who instigated him."
What a smooth talker, healthy competition?
Someone died, and he still had the nerve to say this?
Aurora was furious and showed no mercy, her tone even harsher, "You indeed failed to teach him well. Helen was kind-hearted, but she lost her life because of the so-called healthy competition you mentioned. She just passed away, and you say this, it's really impressive."
Aurora mentioned Helen's death, and Lloyd sobered up a bit, saying, "Rex, no one can save Wade this time. From now on, Wade's name will be removed from the family tree. The Lewis family has nothing to do with him, whether he goes to jail to atone or faces the death penalty."
"Dad, you can't do this, Wade is your own grandson. You were the first to hold him when he was born." Rex said urgently, "Dad, I've spent nearly thirty years raising him. No father in this world would spend so much effort to raise a murderer. He made a mistake..."
"Rex, it's not a mistake, it's a crime." Aurora interrupted Rex,, "Since ancient times, a life for a life."
"Aurora." Rex could no longer control his emotions and roared, "You vicious woman, do you really want Wade's life to be satisfied? How can you be so cruel?"
"As long as I can get justice for Helen, so what if I'm cruel?" Aurora retorted coldly, "If Wade didn't do it, the law will clear his name. There's no need for you to cry here and make it difficult for Grandpa."
The police had already interrogated Wade, and he insisted that it was Sandra who hired someone to kill Helen, and it had nothing to do with him.
But such a big scheme, it couldn't have been planned overnight. Who would believe Wade wasn't involved?
Angela was also detained. Jax was missing, and Angela saw the person who stole the child but used it as leverage to try to become John's woman.
Initially, Aurora and John thought Angela and Wade were in cahoots, but now it seemed Angela was probably just a pawn of Wade's game.
Wade was proud and ambitious, how could he date such an ordinary teacher? Thinking about it now, it was clear Wade had ulterior motives.
Angela was Summer's teacher. At first, Wade must have targeted Summer.
Aurora mercilessly exposed Rex's intentions.
Rex specifically came to Lloyd when John wasn't around to plead, but he forgot about Aurora. Aurora's words were even sharper than John's.
Lloyd might be swayed by Rex's words and soften, but with Aurora there, Rex couldn't fool Lloyd.
A strong hatred flashed in Rex's eyes. He truly hated Aurora to the core.
"Aurora, every word you say is meant to cut off my lineage. You are too heartless and cold-blooded."
Aurora saw the hatred in Rex's eyes and replied, "If you don't eliminate the threat completely, you'll suffer sooner or later. Last time, we were too merciful to you."
"Aurora." Rex's hatred deepened as he pointed angrily at her, "You just want to cut off my lineage. Aurora, you act so righteous now, but one day, I want to see if you can really uphold justice when your own family breaks the law."
"Equal treatment."
Aurora retorted with one sentence.
Rex couldn't say another word. As he left, he looked at Lloyd and said, "Dad, you are the one who forced my lineage to death."
After saying this, Rex left, and no one saw him again after that.
Aurora looked at Lloyd. So much had happened recently, Lloyd's spirit was poor, and his health was failing. Gary was taking care of Lloyd.
Lloyd stared blankly in the direction Rex left, gripping his cane tightly. The age spots on his face had multiplied, making him look much older.
"Grandpa, let me help you back to your room to rest!"
Lloyd shook his head and said, "Aurora, go take care of the children, don't worry about me. I'll just sit here."
"Grandpa..."
At this moment, Aurora suddenly heard the children crying and hurried upstairs to check.
In the nursery.
Summer took Jax from Jack's hands, "Uncle, I'll take care of my brother."
He said she took Jax, but it was more like snatching him away.
Jack frowned, "Summer, I was just looking at Jax."
"What's wrong?" Aurora came in, and Jax stopped crying as soon as he was in Summer's arms.
Jack explained, "Aurora, I just held Jax for a moment, and he suddenly started crying."
"Let me see if he needs a diaper change or if he's hungry."
Aurora checked the diaper, it was clean, and spoke, "He must be hungry. Summer, go make some formula for Jax."
Summer replied, "Mommy, it's not Jax's feeding time yet. I'll take him out to play first."
Actually, Jax stopped crying as soon as he was in Summer's arms. Aurora knew the child wasn't hungry, he probably just didn't like being held by Jack, but she couldn't say that, so she made an excuse.
And she noticed that Summer seemed to have some hostility towards Jack.
