Chapter 90 Flirting with Aurora in Front of John
Aurora wasn't about to let Emily off the hook this time. The lawyer said Emily would get at least three years, and Mark would get five.
The court had approved the case and was waiting for trial. But then, at the worst possible moment, Emily got pregnant.
According to the law, pregnant and nursing inmates could be released on bail.
No matter how determined Aurora was, she couldn't let Emily go to prison while pregnant.
Adults might be guilty, but kids were innocent.
Aurora headed straight to the police department, with John by her side.
When they arrived, Emily was in the lobby, with Nicole handling the bail paperwork nearby.
To their surprise, Daniel, who had called her not long ago, was also there, sitting across from Emily, smoking with his head down.
Emily looked blissfully happy, her belly still flat, constantly caressing it as if afraid others wouldn't know she was pregnant.
Officer Philip saw Aurora and called out, "Ms. White."
He also noticed John beside Aurora. Even in a wheelchair, John's commanding presence was hard to ignore.
Wheelchair, mask—Officer Philip quickly guessed his identity and put down what he was doing, speaking with a hint of reverence, "Mr. Lewis."
"Yes," John responded coolly, "Are the procedures done?"
Officer Philip answered honestly, "There's one last seal to go."
John's voice turned cold. "Then let's wait a bit longer. I'll have a doctor check again to see if Mrs. Taylor is really pregnant."
Hearing this, Aurora glanced at John. She had also suspected that Emily might be faking it.
John's words made the experssions of Daniel, Emily, and Nicole all change.
Daniel was surprised that Aurora was with John. Hadn't she run away from the Lewis Family's marriage? Why were they still entangled?
John's presence made Emily and Nicole a bit panicked. Who would dare to go against the Lewis Family?
With just one word from John, Emily would have to stay inside.
Emily stood up, caressing her belly with a pitiful look, and looked at Aurora. "Sis, I am truly pregnant. For the sake of your future nephew, can you forgive me? I'll even kneel down for you."
Saying this, Emily really knelt before Aurora, the sound of her knees hitting the floor crisp and clear.
Aurora's heart trembled; Emily could really do anything.
Nicole reached out to help but didn't, lowering her stance and said to Aurora, "Aurora, Emily is your sister after all. She knew she was wrong. Please forgive her this time. She really won't dare anymore."
With both his wife and mother-in-law pleading, Daniel remained indifferent, just watching Aurora.
Emily's pregnancy had disrupted all of Daniel's plans. How could he be happy, let alone plead for Emily?
Aurora glanced coldly at Emily and Nicole. "Aunt Clark, you must be joking. My parents only have one daughter, and it's me. I don't have a sister or nephew."
Aurora's words made the two feel very ashamed.
Everyone knew Emily was Percy's illegitimate daughter. Trying to claim a relationship with Aurora was indeed shameless.
"Sis!" Emily knelt on the ground, looking pitiful, tears streaming down, "I know I was wrong in the past. I really realize my mistakes now."
Aurora said expressionlessly, "Then we should let the doctor check. If you are really pregnant. The law is lenient to pregnant women. I naturally have no reason to pursue it further."
Emily gritted her teeth secretly and looked at Daniel for help.
Daniel finally spoke up, "Then let the doctor check again."
Emily felt defeated, hating it inside but showing a gentle face, "Alright, let the doctor check again."
With one call from John, Gary arrived in half an hour. Gary had a lot of experience in medicine, and diagnosing pregnancy was a simple matter of taking a pulse.
Gary took Emily's pulse, and after a few seconds, nodded to John, "It's a pregnancy pulse."
Emily was indeed pregnant.
Daniel felt no joy, only a bit of disappointment, his brows furrowed tightly.
He had only slept with Emily once while drunk, but he didn't expect her to actually be pregnant. Pregnant at this time meant he couldn't get rid of Emily.
Emily's face lit up with a smile, exuding maternal love, and she asked Gary, "Is it a boy or a girl? I heard taking a pulse can diagnose that."
"You'll know when it's born," Gary naturally wouldn't tell the truth.
Aurora's gaze fixed on Emily's belly, and she didn't stop them, agreeing to the bail.
"Emily, bail is just a delay in the trial. This time, for the child's sake, I will give you a chance. If you still don't realize your mistakes, don't blame me."
"Thank you, Aurora," Emily said gratefully, "Aurora, I just want to take good care of the baby and give birth to this child. I will be a mother in the future, and I will not do the stupid things I used to do again."
Aurora didn't want to stay any longer, pushing John's wheelchair, ready to leave. Daniel suddenly spoke, "Aurora, my promise to you is always valid."
What a scumbag, flirting with someone else in front of his pregnant wife.
John shot a sharp look at him and sneered, "Mr. Taylor, you are indeed amorous. Go home and discipline your wife. If she causes any more trouble, I won't be lenient next time."
Daniel's face turned grim, and he felt embarrassed and even more surprised.
Why would John stand up for Aurora?
Aurora didn't even glance at Daniel, pushing John away directly.
Daniel stood there watching, and Emily walked over, speaking gently, "Daniel, let's go back."
"Go back by yourself. I have something to deal with," Daniel said curtly, without a pleasant expression.
Nicole, seeing Daniel give Emily the attitude, was unhappy, "Daniel, what do you mean? Emily is carrying your child, and you treat her like this? How can you be a husband? Do you believe I'll take Emily away, and you won't even get to see the child?"
Daniel sneered, "That would be a relief. But where would you go, Nicole? The White Family or The Harris Family?"
Nicole was so furious, "Daniel, how can you talk to your elders like that? I'm still your mother-in-law."
Nicole's face turned pale with anger. She couldn't go back to the White Family, and as a lover, she couldn't return to The Harris Family either.
These days, Nicole had been staying in a hotel.
"Mom, Daniel, stop arguing," Emily gently persuaded, "Mom, you go back. I can manage on my own. Daniel, if you're busy, go ahead. I'll take a cab home."
"Emily," Nicole felt heartbroken seeing her daughter wronged herself like this.
"Mom, I'm Daniel's wifeand I'm carrying the Taylor family's child. Naturally, I should go back to the Taylor family," Emily winked at Nicole.
She finally had a child as a shield and had to use it to turn the unfavorable situation around.
The humiliation Aurora gave her, she would get back sooner or later.
At Meadow Brook Villa.
Aurora followed them back. As soon as they entered the hall, Sam walked over to John and said, "Boss, Summer called."
