Chapter 374 Be Careful with the Baby in Your Belly
Allan drank several glasses of wine in a row.
He was indeed feeling unwilling, but more than that, he was frustrated.
He had failed twice in confessing his feelings, and was even misunderstood as liking men. This time, he hadn't even gotten the chance to start his confession before it all fell apart.
Suddenly, Allan had an epiphany and glanced at Todd, "Lori thought I like men, was this your doing?"
Allan remembered once taking Lori to a crime scene, and it was then that Todd had been overly familiar, pulling at him and getting too close. Later, Lori often said things he didn't understand at the time, but now it all made sense.
After that, Todd always brought him food and care at the police station.
Two grown men, it's no wonder people misunderstood.
Todd scratched his nose awkwardly, "Allan, I swear I didn't mean to frame you. Lori is just stubborn and wouldn't believe the explanation."
With a cold expression, Allan downed a few more glasses, "When you two get married, I want an invitation."
"No problem."
Todd smiled, looking like an old-school gentleman from a classic film, and poured Allan another drink: "Allan, I'll toast to you first."
After downing his glass, Allan asked, "I could tell before that you weren't interested in Lori. When did that change?"
"When?" Todd murmured the word, recalling how they had spent almost every moment since they met in playful fights, and he was always the one getting hurt.
When Willie and his men ambushed them, Lori had a chance to leave but didn't.
Probably, it was then that he fell for her.
"She is like a blazing sun, dazzling wherever she goes, making life feel vibrant."
After saying that, Todd left, and the conversation they had tonight would remain a secret between them, with no one else knowing.
Todd returned to the car and found Lori missing, with only a pair of handcuffs left.
A pair of handcuffs couldn't hold Lori.
Todd wasn't surprised, put away the handcuffs, and smiled slightly.
He went home to sleep.
The Lewis Villa.
Lori sneaked into the room, not through the front door, but by climbing through the window.
As soon as her feet touched the ground, she heard the sound of a switch, and the room was suddenly flooded with light.
Ava, in her pajamas, drinking tea, sat on the sofa: "Finally decided to come back, huh?"
She looked like a parent catching their kid sneaking in after curfew.
"Ava." Lori smiled ingratiatingly, "You're still up."
"I was worried you couldn't handle two guys on your own, so I waited here." Ava asked, "So, how did the date go?"
"I didn't even see Mr. Jennings, Todd intercepted me. I'm beat, I'm going to sleep."
Saying that, Lori got into bed and really fell asleep.
Ava's voice came through the covers. "Don't you usually hate guys like Todd?"
Lori lifted the covers and met Ava's gaze: "Todd is indeed annoying. I was supposed to have dinner with Mr. Jennings, and he handcuffed me. He's getting bold. I need to figure out how to handle him properly. Otherwise, how can I be in charge of this house in the future? He dared to treat me like this."
This house?
Lori had subconsciously included Todd as one of her own.
This contrast was really hard for Ava to adapt to. They used to be at each other's throats, and now they were on the same side.
The leap between these two relationships didn't even have a transition, it just happened.
Ava put down her tea and said, "By the way, Lori, I want to move out of The Lewis Villa. I found a place today and have already rented it."
"Okay, we'll move tomorrow."
Lori didn't ask why they were moving. They had that kind of understanding. Living in The Lewis Villa wasn't ideal.
When they said they would move, they moved.
The next morning, after breakfast, they explained the move to Aurora, who understood and didn't stop them.
Lori and Ava moved out, and Jack was willing to live in The White Villa instead of The Lewis Villa. Aurora felt a bit disappointed.
Aurora and John's wedding preparations were almost complete, and the news had spread.
John and Allan had devised several plans to catch the culprits at the wedding.
Only a few knew the wedding was fake: Lori, Ava, Todd, and Jack.
Time flew by.
Before they knew it, it was the night before the wedding.
In a small villa in a neighboring city, Sandra angrily smashed things.
"They're actually getting married. Everything I've done was in vain."
"Ms. Johnson, please calm down. Think of the baby."
