Chapter 453 Could She Be Pregnant Again?
Lori kicked the guy next to her, taking down another opponent. She glanced towards the staircase where Jack stood.
"When I was running the streets, you were still nowhere to be found. I grew up in the Wolfpack. Even if you managed to consolidate the Wolfpack, you really think I don't have anyone loyal to me in there?"
Lori's voice was full of authority. "I have the strength to kick you off your throne and take over as the leader myself."
Jack looked at the people lying on the ground, realizing Lori wasn't bluffing.
Richard had warned him several times before his death: if he couldn't recruit Lori, it was best not to provoke her.
Jack composed himself, walked down the stairs, and smiled. "Lori, no need to be so angry. We're family. Whether you lead or I lead, it's all the same."
"Cut the crap and give me the medicine," Lori's eyes were cold. "Jack, you better not piss me off. I'm not Aurora; I don't have her soft heart. To me, you're just a relative by blood. Considering you tried to bury me alive, I wouldn't mind ripping your head off."
Upstairs, Oren saw Lori and Jack clashing and quietly slipped out through another exit.
"Lori, this is all a misunderstanding..." Jack suddenly clutched his head in pain, convulsing on the ground like he was having a seizure.
Lori watched him with a blank expression.
Jack returned to normal, his eyes clear. He got up and looked around the hall, confused. "Where am I? What's going on? Lori, why are you here?"
He patted his head, frustrated. "I was at the White Villa, wasn't I? Where is this?"
Lori smirked. "Oh? Another personality switch? Need me to help you remember?"
"Is it that other person inside me again? Aurora said I was sick, something about split personalities, with a dangerous other self inside me. Oh, I remember now. Lori, you need to leave; he wants to hurt you."
"With your condition, how could I leave? It's fine if you don't remember what you did. I'll help you recall."
With that, Lori kicked Jack in the chest, sending him flying.
Jack winced in pain. "Lori, what are you doing?"
Lori didn't waste words, grabbing Jack's collar and punching him hard.
Lori knew the human body's pressure points well, targeting the most painful spots without causing fatal harm.
Jack screamed in agony, begging for mercy. "Lori, stop! Stop! I'm your brother!"
"Our parents are gone, so it's up to me, your sister, to teach you a lesson."
Lori's blows were heavy, and Jack's expression gradually changed. Suddenly, a surge of power erupted from within him, and he pushed Lori away with one hand.
Jack stood up immediately, his eyes fierce as he glared at Lori. "I'm your brother, and you're trying to kill me."
Lori sneered, flipping her hair with authority. "Done pretending? You think I'm easy to bully? You tried to kill me, and you expect me to be polite?"
From the start, Jack hadn't returned to normal. It was the other personality all along, and his earlier weakness was an act.
Lori saw through it instantly and didn't hesitate to attack.
Jack cracked his neck, making a popping sound, his expression dark and bloodthirsty. "Lori, I told you, if you team up with me to avenge our father, I'll give you the medicine."
"What if I refuse?"
Jack's smile was sinister. "Then I'll have to send you to hell to join our father."
"Damn it." Lori grabbed Jack's throat. "Say it again. Are you giving me the medicine or not?"
Jack looked smug, not resisting as Lori choked him, laughing arrogantly. "Lori, I know you're not afraid of death. You've lived on the edge, always at risk of getting shot. But even if you're not afraid, someone else is. You wouldn't let that fool die, would you?"
He was threatening Lori with Todd.
Lori scoffed. "Threatening me with a fool? You think I care? He's already a fool. If you get rid of that problem for me, I'd be grateful."
"Women always say one thing and mean another." Jack's smile was infuriating. "Lori, if I really hurt that fool, you'd skin me alive."
Suddenly, Jack shouted, "Bring the fool in!"
Lori instinctively looked behind her, and Jack took the chance to break free and run out the back door.
Realizing she was tricked, Lori was about to chase him when Jack's men attacked her, holding her back.
By the time Lori dealt with them, Jack was long gone.
Lori cursed angrily. "Damn it."
Letting Jack escape meant finding him again would be much harder.
...
At the Lewis Villa.
Aurora was at home with her sons. No matter how many worries she had, seeing Trey and Jax's smiles made them all disappear.
"My babies, you're getting cuter by the day. How did I get so lucky to have such handsome sons?"
Aurora couldn't help but smile as she admired them.
Just then, Aurora's phone rang. It was a video call from Summer.
She hadn't seen Summer and Loren in a while and missed them terribly. She quickly answered.
As soon as the call connected, two shiny heads appeared on the screen.
"Wow, look at those bright heads."
Summer and Loren had shaved their heads, their bald heads squeezed into the video frame, making Aurora laugh.
Loren, who loved his looks, had refused to let her touch his hair before. But on the island, he had to follow the rules; no special treatment for being John's son.
Loren touched his bald head. "Mommy, Summer, and I miss you and our little brothers. Mommy, we want to see our brothers."
Aurora turned the camera to Trey and Jax, and Summer and Loren excitedly greeted their brothers.
Suddenly, Aurora felt a tightness in her chest, like there was something greasy inside her, making her uncomfortable.
"Talk to your brothers for a bit. I need to open a window."
Aurora thought the tightness was from not having the window open.
She went to open the window and glanced at the calendar marking her menstrual cycle.
Today was the third.
Her period was a week late.
Could she be pregnant again?
Aurora remembered getting pregnant after being intimate with John and, feeling uneasy, grabbed a pregnancy test and went to the bathroom.
Just as she entered, John came home. Trey and Jax were in the playpen, video chatting with Summer and Loren.
Summer saw John through the video and called out, "Daddy!"
Loren also shouted, "Daddy, Randy praised me today, said I have a natural talent."
John received daily reports on Loren and Summer's activities on the island.
Loren indeed had a knack for pranks. No one on the island could escape his tricks.
He had even managed to make Randy lose the last tuft of hair on his head by adding hair removal solution to Randy's shampoo from Gary's lab.
Randy was so furious, he didn't leave his room for three days.
John looked around the room, not seeing Aurora. "Where's your mommy?"
Trey and Jax simultaneously looked towards the bathroom.
They were starting to recognize and find people now.
John walked to the bathroom and knocked on the door. "Honey?"
John's call startled Aurora, causing her to drop the pregnancy test.
John pushed the door open and saw Aurora sitting on the toilet, the pregnancy test on the floor.
