Chapter 145 Beaten to a Pulp

Starlight Hotel.

Aurora pulled off a flawless drift to park her car, and as a stunning beauty driving a luxury car with such skillful and impressive maneuvers, she left the security guard at the entrance utterly astonished.

Aurora swung open the car door, her long legs hitting the ground. With her hair flowing and sunglasses on, she had this cool, chic vibe going on.

The security guard walked over with a grin. "Miss, are you staying at the hotel?"

"Yeah." Aurora pushed her sunglasses up with her middle finger, checked the time, and said, "Hey, could you do me a favor? If things get dicey later, make sure to call the cops for me."

The guard, totally smitten by Aurora, nodded eagerly. "Don't worry, Miss. With me, Peter Hammer, here, no one's gonna mess with you. I used to be quite the local hero before I took this job."

Aurora's lips parted slightly, "Peter, my company sent me to collect a debt today, and I'm worried about the danger. After all, I'm just a delicate woman and can't possibly fend off those men."

"No problem, I'll go with you and bring some of my buddies." Peter, eager to impress the beautiful woman, showed his chivalrous side.

"Peter, you're so kind." Aurora smiled shyly, further enchanting Peter. "Room 1550. I'm not familiar with this hotel, so I'll need you to lead the way."

"No problem at all." Peter asked, "How many people are there?"

"I'm not sure, maybe several."

"Then I'll call a few more buddies." Peter was quite smart.

"Thank you, Peter."

Peter led the way, and Aurora followed him to the elevator to the fifteenth floor.

From the moment Aurora saw that letter, she knew it wasn't John who had invited her. Today wasLloyd's seventieth birthday, so John couldn't possibly have asked her to come to the hotel.

The handwriting was a good imitation, but Aurora wasn't foolish enough to fall for such a basic trick. She had called Sophia on the way, but it seemed Sophia would be delayed, so she had to find someone else to help.

Aurora was curious to see what kind of trap Jane had set for her.

In the Lewis Family, only Jane harbored jealousy towards Aurora. When Aurora left the Lewis Mansion, she had asked the security guard, and no delivery person had entered. So, it had to be someone inside the mansion who placed the letter. Obviously, it was Jane.

Room 1550.

Daniel had been watching the time, spraying a lot of perfume in the room and arranging heart-shaped red roses on the bed, creating a romantic atmosphere.

The doorbell rang. Daniel smiled, and turned off all the lights before opening the door, "Darling..."

Before Daniel could finish his sentence, everything went black as a cloth bag was thrown over his head. Before he could react, he heard someone shout.

"Beat him up! Teach him a lesson first."

"Who?" Daniel roared in anger, "Who is it?"

Peter and two other security guards started punching and kicking Daniel.

Aurora said, "Drag him inside. Don't disturb the other guests."

Being dragged inside the room and head covered, Daniel completely had no idea about who was hitting him. The room was filled with his screams and angry shouts.

Daniel felt like his ribs were about to break. He curled up on the ground, protecting his vital parts.

Aurora leisurely turned on the lights, and sat in a chair watching Daniel get beaten up.

At this moment, she actually didn't know it was Daniel, thinking it was a man Jane had hired to frame her.

When the beating seemed sufficient and Daniel stopped moving, Aurora spoke, "Stop. Take off the hood."

"Trying to avoid paying your debt, making the room all dark, you must have had some bad intentions towards Ms. White." Peter kicked him again before removing the hood.

When Daniel realized it was the hotel security guards beating him, he was livid. "Are you out of your minds? Do you know who I am? I'm Daniel Taylor. How dare you lay a finger on me? Do you have a death wish?"

Aurora, who had been sipping her coffee, couldn't help but spit it out when she heard it was Daniel. "Daniel? What the hell are you doing here?"

Daniel, looking like a swollen mess, was almost comical, making Aurora laugh.

Daniel turned his head and saw the stunning Aurora sitting in the chair. He paused for a moment but quickly regained his composure, his face darkening. "Aurora, did you call them here?"

Aurora couldn't believe it was Daniel. Wasn't the letter a trap set by Jane?

No, if it wasn't Jane, the letter couldn't have been delivered to the Lewis Mansion.

Aurora questioned, "When did you and Jane meet?"

It was the only possibility—Daniel and Jane were in cahoots.

Exposed, Daniel wasted no time in concealing the truth. "I instructed Jane to arrange the rendezvous with you."

Aurora sneered, glancing at the roses on the bed, understanding Daniel's intentions. "Mr. Taylor, you're quite bold. Even after being warned by John, you still dare to mess with me. Aren't you afraid of ending up like Emily?"

Daniel, enduring the pain, sat down. He gritted his teeth yet still tried to maintain his composure in front of Aurora.

Daniel sneered, "If John survives tonight, he can come find me."

"What do you mean?" Aurora frowned.

"Aurora, I've divorced Emily. I'm a free man now. If you're smart, we could get back together and make a great story." Daniel said confidently, "If you insist on choosing John, you'll regret it. A wise person knows when to adapt."

Aurora's eyes turned cold. "It seems the beating wasn't hard enough."

Aurora signaled to Peter with her eyes, "Peter, thank you. I'll take responsibility for everything that happens today."

"Ms. White, you're too kind. Serving a beautiful woman is what we should do." Peter stood menacingly in front of Daniel. "Mr. Taylor, right? We've never heard of you. If you don't cooperate with Ms. White, we might as well quit this job and use our fists to serve you properly."

Daniel gritted his teeth, glaring at Aurora. "You're ruthless."

"You brought this on yourself." Aurora said coldly, "You'd better tell the truth. Why did you say John wouldn't survive tonight? What are you and Jane planning? What do you intend to do to John?"

"You really care about him." Daniel mocked, "Aurora, the Lewis Family's internal strife is well-known. I heard John got shot a few days ago, and today is Mr. Lewis's birthday. Do you think those people will let John attend the banquet alive? He is doomed today. I got this information from Jane. I don't know the rest. But today's banquet is a trap."

"Oh, I see." Aurora remained calm, showing no sign of worry.

Daniel was puzzled. "Aren't you very concerned about him? Why are you so calm?"

If John couldn't handle this crisis, he wouldn't be the leader of Nightfall.

Aurora stood up. "You should worry about yourself, Peter." She turned to Peter and said, "This man owes me a lot of money. Please help him remember, it'll be best in a way he'll never forget."

"Don't worry, I'm an expert at this." Peter said.

Aurora gave Daniel a cold look and left. Facing the burly security guards, Daniel was a bit scared. "What are you going to do? I'll report you."

The room echoed with the sounds of punches, kicks, and Daniel's screams.

At that moment, Sophia arrived with some people. She rushed to Aurora, panting. "Aurora, where are they?"

"It's already done." Aurora wrapped her arm around Sophia's shoulder. "Let's go to the banquet. There's going to be a drama tonight."
