Chapter 148 Embarrassment
Sophia was totally floored. If Summer was Aurora's kid, then Loren had to be too.
She used to chat with Aurora about the kids' parents, and Aurora had put in so much effort trying to find them. Who would've thought they were right under her nose the whole time?
Aurora said, "Now's not the time to explain. I'll fill you in later. Where's Jane?"
"I locked her in the bathroom," Sophia said, a bit on edge. "But she won't stay there for long."
Aurora chuckled, "Thanks, Sophia."
"Don't mention it," Sophia replied. "Aurora, what's the plan now? You said there'd be some drama tonight. I love a good show, but not if it's your drama."
Aurora thought for a moment. "This is tricky. Jane might have a backup plan. We'll just have to play it by ear."
Aurora didn't have a better idea and decided to roll with the punches. She had a gut feeling tonight was going to be wild.
"Sophia, go return the bag first."
"Okay." Sophia didn't have any better ideas and decided to follow Aurora's lead.
Jane was still stuck in the stall, pushing the door with all her might but getting nowhere. Sophia left the bag and walked away.
"Who's out there?"
Jane heard footsteps. "Is it you who locked me in? You better hope I don't find out who you are, or you'll regret it."
The only response Jane got was silence.
Jane was fuming and yelled, "Is anyone there?"
A cleaning lady passed by, heard the commotion, and curiously walked in, removing the stick that was blocking the door.
When Jane saw the door open and the cleaning lady standing there, she was livid. "Are you all deaf? I've been shouting for hours, and no one came. Do you know who I am? I'm carrying the first great-grandchild of the Lewis Family. If anything happens to me, can you take responsibility?"
Jane unleashed all her anger on the cleaning lady, who, too intimidated to speak up, kept her head down.
Seeing her bag on the sink, Jane quickly grabbed it and muttered, "Luckily, the bag wasn't lost. This bag costs tens of thousands of dollars."
Even though it was just a bag worth a few thousand dollars, Jane treasured it immensely.
She suddenly realized, who was playing a prank on her? What was the purpose of locking her in the stall?
Jane quickly opened her bag and, as expected, the paternity test report was gone.
"It was Aurora, it must have been her. Fine, you think stealing it will stop me from exposing you."
Thinking about how she was just hoodwinked, Jane angrily grabbed her bag and stormed out, looking for Aurora to settle the score.
More guests had arrived in the banquet hall, which could accommodate tens of thousands of people, and it wasn't crowded.
Jane searched for Aurora in the crowd.
Where was she? Why couldn't she find her?
At this moment, Summer and Loren suddenly appeared behind Jane. Loren adorably called out, "Jane, you're carrying a baby. Standing must be tiring. Please sit down."
Loren looked shy, smiling.
Jane turned around and saw the two kids. Thinking that they were Aurora's, she didn't show a good face. "Don't think I'll appreciate this. You two little brats, I'll deal with you after handling Aurora."
Summer's eyes turned cold, wanting to deal with Jane right then and there.
Loren was also very angry, but the angrier they got, the more innocent their smiles became.
Loren obediently said, "Jane, don't be angry. It's not good for the baby."
Summer pulled over a chair. "Jane, please sit down. Don't tire yourself out. Helen told us to take good care of you."
Hearing that Helen had instructed them and seeing how well-behaved the two kids were, Jane arrogantly said, "At least you know what's good for you. I'll reluctantly sit down."
Summer and Loren exchanged a glance, a sly glint flashing in their eyes.
Jane plopped down on the chair, not sensing anything off at first. She crossed her legs and said haughtily, "Pour me a glass of water, I'm thirsty."
"Okay, right away." Loren sweetly smiled and quickly ran to the food area to pour Jane a glass of juice with some added ingredients.
Loren gave an evil smile, thinking, 'You witch, dare to bully Aurora, I'll make you pay.'
Loren added a lot of salt and even spat into the juice before bringing it over.
"Jane, please have some juice." Loren smiled adorably.
Jane really thought of herself as a queen, enjoying the service of the two kids.
"At least you're obedient." Jane reached out to take the juice and brought it to her mouth.
Summer and Loren took a few steps back in unison. The two brothers were very protective. Since Jane had targeted Aurora just now, there was no way they would just walk away.
That wasn't their style.
Loren was mischievous and had many tricks up his sleeve. Back in the orphanage, the teachers and the director were almost driven crazy by Loren's pranks.
Even Leo had been so scared by Loren's pranks that he didn't dare to sleep for several days, fearing that animals like frogs would appear in his bed.
The brothers' style was that Loren caused trouble, and Summer cleaned up the mess.
Jane took a sip of the juice and immediately spat it out. "Why is it so salty?"
Jane instinctively tried to get up but couldn't. Her skirt was stuck to the chair. "You little brats, you set me up."
Jane realized what had happened and became furious. She threw the cup at Loren, but Summer, being agile, kicked the cup away.
"Dare to hurt Loren? You're done."
The cup hit the table and shattered, juice splashing all over Jane.
"My skirt!" Jane hurriedly tried to get up, but with a forceful tug, a loud ripping sound echoed through the room. A piece of her skirt was still stuck to the chair, exposing her entire backside.
"Ah!!!" Jane screamed in frustration, frantically looking for something to cover herself but finding nothing, looking like a clown spinning in circles.
Her screams attracted the attention of many guests. Her underwear was clearly visible, and people started whispering and laughing, making Jane extremely embarrassed.
Loren and Summer made faces together. "That's what you get for insulting us."
The two kids were smart enough not to say they were standing up for Aurora, avoiding any unnecessary negative comments about her.
They had left the hall just now to find some super glue and smeared it on the chair.
Seeing this scene, Todd couldn't help but laugh. He had wondered what the kids were doing with the glue, and now he knew.
Helen walked over, and Jane was almost in tears. "Mom, these little brats set me up."
Helen was immediately displeased. She cherished these two kids so much, how could she tolerate her calling them brats?
Even though the test results weren't out yet, Helen already treated the two kids as her own grandsons and doted on them immensely.
"Go change your clothes quickly, don't embarrass yourself." Helen threw a shawl at Jane.
Jane's face turned red with shame and anger. She gritted her teeth, took the shawl, tied it around her waist to cover her backside, and ran off with her head down.
