Chapter 303: Lift Him Up Like a Princess
A strong wind blew, causing the leaves above their heads to fall into the dishes. Lori and Allan exchanged a glance.
Raindrops started to fall, hitting their faces and the plates.
In just a moment, half of the dishes were filled with rainwater.
Lori looked up and suggested, "Mr. Jennings, should we leave?"
Allan nodded and asked, "Are you full?"
"Yes, I'm full." Lori's throat was burning from the spiciness; she didn't dare to eat anymore.
"Alright, I'll go pay the bill." Allan was straightforward and efficient.
The two quickly took shelter inside the restaurant as the rain poured down.
Lori looked up to the second floor and saw Todd peering through binoculars.
Lori made a gesture to Todd, challenging him to come down and fight.
Todd was so startled he almost dropped the binoculars.
"Lori, I'll drive you home," Allan spoke, still very gentlemanly. Even though the date didn't go well, he still wanted to make sure she got home safely.
"No need, Mr. Jennings, you go ahead. I'm waiting for someone." Lori rolled up her sleeves, eager to confront Todd.
"Alright, I'm heading out. Remember to come to work on time tomorrow; there's a task." Allan instructed before leaving.
Allan thought Lori liked Todd, Todd thought Lori liked Allan, and Lori thought Todd and Allan were a couple.
Isn't this the classic love triangle? And an unbreakable one at that.
As soon as Allan left, Lori went straight to the entrance to block Todd.
When Todd realized he had been spotted, he tried to slip away quickly. Just as he stepped out the door, a hand grabbed his shoulder.
"Trying to run?" Lori grabbed Todd and uttered, "Todd, you're so sneaky, making Mr. Jennings take me to eat Mexican food. Look at my lips, they're all swollen from the spiciness."
From a distance, Todd hadn't seen clearly. When he saw Lori's swollen lips, he couldn't help but laugh.
"Haha, your lips are so ugly."
Lori was furious, "You're still laughing, Todd, this is all your fault."
"You chose to eat it yourself; I didn't force you. If you can't handle spicy food, don't try to show off. Who's to blame?" Todd laughed every time he looked at Lori's lips. "You can't help but get stuck when you see a handsome guy."
"Todd, I knew it, you're worried I'll steal your man." Lori rolled up her sleeves. "I said I wouldn't. Do you think everyone is as petty and untrustworthy as you?"
Her boss invited her to dinner, and she had just started the job, so she couldn't refuse.
Aurora had previously advised her on workplace etiquette, emphasizing not to offend the boss, or there would be trouble.
Todd stared at Lori's face, lost in thought as she ranted.
Lori was still angry and wanted to hit him, but when she raised her hand, Todd didn't move. She didn't want to win unfairly, so she just pushed him instead. "What are you looking at? Do I have something on my face?"
Todd snapped out of it. "Nothing, but you do have a few pimples."
"Pimples?" Lori quickly touched her face and found a few pimples.
She was getting overheated.
"Todd, I'm not done with you." Lori went berserk and swung her fist at him.
Todd dodged quickly, avoiding the blow.
As long as Todd wanted to dodge, Lori couldn't hurt him.
It was raining outside, and Lori chased Todd from the front yard of the restaurant to the backyard, and then to the parking lot.
The heavy rain came quickly and stopped just as fast.
Lori stood with her hands on her hips, panting, glaring at Todd not far away. "Damn it, Todd, don't let me catch you, or I'll skin you alive."
Lori's stomach started to feel uncomfortable, probably from the Mexican food earlier.
Todd continued to taunt, "Shrew, come chase me. If you catch me, you can do whatever you want."
"I don't have time to play tag with you. I need to use the bathroom." With that, Lori headed to the restroom.
"Don't go." Todd spoke, stepping closer.
Suddenly, Lori turned around to grabbed Todd with one hand, laughing triumphantly. "Gotcha!"
Todd was exasperated and said helplessly, "Do whatever you want."
Having known Lori for so many years, Todd knew her personality well.
She wouldn't give up easily.
If he really didn't want Lori to catch him, she wouldn't have had a chance.
Lori stretched her limbs and didn't hold back, grabbing Todd and punching and kicking him, tossing him around like a sandbag.
Todd regretted it so much!
Indeed, he shouldn't have gone easy on her.
Lori was too violent.
With one final punch, Lori sent Todd flying 10 feet away.
Todd landed on the ground, clutching his chest, unable to catch his breath for a while. His face was bruised and swollen, looking very pitiful.
Lori clapped her hands, full of swagger. "If you mess with me again, I'll beat you so bad your parents won't recognize you."
"No need for next time. If I go home like this, my parents might not recognize me now." Todd looked up, his eyes swollen into slits, his face puffy, and blood dripping from his nose.
Lori couldn't help but laugh, "Haha, so ugly."
"You really went all out." Todd conplained.
She didn't know how to be gentle. If he had known, he would have dodged.
"You said I could do whatever I wanted. Can't handle it?" Lori asked.
"Why are you so stubborn? I said you could do whatever you wanted, but couldn't you choose a different way?"
Todd realized he was talking to a brick wall.
"If I can solve it with my fists, I never use my brain." Lori felt much better. "I'm really going to the bathroom now. You rest here."
"I can't move." Todd sat on the ground, not daring to move. He felt like his bones were falling apart. "Take me to Meadowbrook Villa to see Gary. If I'm paralyzed, I'll hold you responsible for the rest of my life."
"I can't afford to take care of you. Really can't move?" Lori walked over and poked Todd's foot with her finger.
Todd winced in pain, his face contorting. "Are you trying to murder me?"
"You wait here for a bit. My stomach hurts; I'll go to the bathroom first and then come back to take you." After saying, Lori went to the bathroom.
A cold wind blew, and Todd shivered.
Todd was utterly helpless.
Todd waited for almost half an hour before Lori came out.
"Let's go." Lori, being a tomboy, was rough in her actions. She grabbed Todd's arm, pulling him up.
His hand got dislocated.
Todd winced in pain, "Shrew, do we have a grudge from a past life?"
"Sorry, my mistake." Lori realized she was wrong this time and quickly let go.
Another crack.
The bone completely broke.
They looked at each other, and the air suddenly became quiet.
Todd looked at his hand, then at Lori. He was so angry he didn't want to say anything.
Lori was so wild.
"Sorry!" Lori wanted to help Todd but didn't know how to do. "Do you still want me to take you?"
Todd had no hope for Lori, but now, only Lori could take him.
Todd hesitated for a moment and nodded.
Lori also hesitated, not sure how to help. She gestured a bit, but holding his arm wasn't working, and Todd couldn't walk. After thinking for a moment, she just bent down and picked Todd up without a word.
Todd was shocked, his eyes wide open.
"Oh my God, put me down." Todd shouted.
Did he have no dignity left?
Did he still want to be a man?
Being carried like a princess by a woman.
