Chapter 290 Lori can adapt well wherever she goes.

Todd sat in Allan's office, waving and smiling at Lori. "Ms. Hernandez, good morning!"

That smile looked a bit sly no matter how Lori saw it.

Lori forced a smile. "It was good until I saw you."

Todd grinned mischievously. "Ms. Hernandez, we've known each other for years. If it weren't for your basketball hitting me back then, we wouldn't have this connection."

Lori's eyes widened and asked, "Mr. Jennings told you that?"

She had made that up back then.

"I didn't expect Ms. Hernandez to be so clever to make a flawless lie." Todd leaned closer to Lori, looking her up and down. "By the way, where did you hide it back then?"

This was something Todd could never figure out. He had checked Lori thoroughly, except...

Todd's gaze fell on Lori's chest. "You really know how to hide things."

Lori knew Todd had figured it out and said smugly, "So what if you know now? By the way, what are you doing here so early?"

Lori glanced at the breakfast on the table, suddenly understanding, and laughed, "Bringing breakfast for Mr. Jennings? Afraid I'll steal your man?"

Ava, who had been sitting and drinking water while watching them bicker, almost choked on Lori's words.

Ava looked up and asked, "When did you two become rivals in love?"

The breakfast was indeed something Todd brought along the way.

Just then, Allan walked in, saw Lori and Ava were already there, and said, "You two are punctual. Now, come with me to see the chief and go through the process."

Lori complained, "Being a cop is such a hassle."

Allan had gotten to know Lori's temperament over the past few days and didn't mind.

Todd spoke up, "Allan, I brought you breakfast!"

"Thanks!" Allan took the breakfast and ate as he walked.

To Lori, this scene looked very affectionate.

Allan walked ahead, with Lori and Ava following behind him. Todd approached Lori, and the two slowed their steps.

Todd lowered his voice and said, "Remember the three things you promised me? Now, the first thing I want you to do is keep your distance from Allan and don't make a move on him."

These two would be working together often in the future, and Todd wasn't comfortable. He decided to use his leverage to keep Lori in check.

Lori rolled her eyes at Todd. "You're really petty. Got it. Even if I wanted to make a move on him, it wouldn't work as he is gay. Don't worry, I keep my promises. By the way, what about the other two things?"

Lori was actually very trustworthy. She only broke her word if others were unreasonable first.

For Allan, Todd used one of his opportunities; it seemed they were truly in love. She would never genuinely make a move on Allan.

But there were plenty of handsome guys in the precinct. If she didn't go after Allan, she had a whole bunch of other guys to flirt with. It was simply too blissful.

Those who could work in the precinct had high IQs, EQs, and physical fitness; they were all top-notch. Any one of them would make a great boyfriend.

Todd had no idea what Lori was thinking and said, "I haven't thought of the other two things yet. Just handle this one properly for now."

"No problem." Lori agreed readily.

At that moment, several male colleagues returned from their morning workout, all shirtless and sweaty.

Each one had an amazing physique, with perfect muscle lines.

Lori greeted them enthusiastically, "Manuel, Hugo, Miguel, you're all back. Out for a morning workout so early?"

During the assessment, Lori had already gotten to know most of the people in the precinct and was very familiar with them.

Lori possessed a wonderful personality, striking beauty, and remarkable abilities, earning her the admiration of everyone.

It was quite rare to see women in this police station. Now, with the arrival of two such beautiful and formidable women, everyone was naturally delighted.

"Lori, good morning, Mr. Jennings, good morning."

Everyone greeted Lori and Allan warmly.

"Haha, nice bodies," Lori laughed, patting their arms and playfully punching their chests.

Each one let her pat them.

Lori smiled shyly, almost drooling over the muscles, and kept saying, "It feels great."

Todd looked helpless. Wasn't she just taking advantage?

He guarded against Allan, but now there was a whole group. He was really helpless now.

Lori was carefree and straightforward; soon, she had become friends with everyone. These actions were just friendly greetings.

Ava pulled Lori back, continuing to follow Allan.

Ava teased, "Lori, I think you're not here to work. You're here for these men."

Lori threw a flirtatious glance, smiled, and pretended to be shy, "Don't expose me, or how will I get by here?"

Ava walked faster, putting some distance between them. "Don't say I know you."

Lori laughed even more heartily, greeting everyone she met.

Later, Lori had been thriving within the bureau, exuding relentless energy. She had been diligently accompanying Allan everywhere, fully engrossed in their work.

One day, Todd, bored out of his mind, barged into John's office and asked, "Mr. Lewis, I'm so bored. Why don't you give me something to do?"

The Smith Group's film division didn't need his attention, and Lori was too busy to bother him. He had gone to the precinct several times but never found her; she was always out.

Todd used to crave peace and quiet, but now that Lori wasn't bothering him, he found it dull.

John was teaching Summer how to handle some business matters now. Next Monday, the Lewis Group would reintroduce itself in a new form.

Even the name was changed. It would no longer be called the Lewis Group but the AJ Group. The name took a letter from both Aurora and John's names.

When Todd first heard the name, he bluntly said it was tacky. It was clearly a blatant display of their affection; it was too much.

Summer clicked the mouse, exited the backend page, and looked at Todd. "Todd, I heard you've been going to the precinct a lot lately? How's Lori doing there? Is she adjusting well?"

Summer was setting a trap for Todd.

Todd was unguarded and said disdainfully, "With her personality, she adapts well anywhere. I think she can't wait to stay in the precinct every day, mingling with those cops. I seriously suspect she's not there to work but to flirt with men.She possessed not an ounce of reserve and was remarkably fierce.

As Todd complained about Lori, he went on and on.

John and Summer just listened. When Todd finally got tired and paused to drink water, Summer said, "Daddy, I think Todd is jealous."

John said calmly, "Hmm, someone is jealous and doesn't even know it."

Todd scoffed and quickly denied, "Who's jealous? That's impossible! I just can't stand her personality, flirting with everyone."

John looked at Todd and asked, "You're not her anything. Who she flirts with has nothing to do with you."

Todd was at a loss for words. Yeah, what did it have to do with him?

He should be glad Lori stayed far away from him and never bothered him again.
