Chapter 273 Four Sons Bankrupted the Lewis Group
John let out a heavy sigh, "Alexander is probably short on money right now. Sandra, running the Shadow of Darkness and teaming up with Richard on this massive scheme, must be burning through cash."
Aurora frowned, "Did Alexander give his money to Sandra?"
John replied, his tone gentle but firm, "You didn't take it, so who else would he give it to besides Sandra?"
Aurora's shoulders slumped, "If I had known, I would've taken the money. Then Sandra wouldn't have the funds to go up against the Lewis family."
John shrugged, "When someone's dead set on something, they'll find a hundred ways to make it happen. Hundreds of billions are just the tip of the iceberg. The Lewis Group lost nearly a trillion dollars this time. Sandra and Richard burned through almost a trillion."
In any case, they were now both badly hurt. The so-called net worth was just an estimated market value, like a bubble that burst with a poke.
Aurora cupped her face in her hands, looked at John, and slowly asked, "Honey, you're so calm in the face of bankruptcy. Is there anything that can make you nervous or anxious?"
John actually thought for a few seconds before replying, "Well, unless my wife runs off with someone else, there's not much that gets to me."

John chuckled softly and reached out to pinch her nose affectionately. "Four sons, bankrupt, and five marriages. What woman would dare marry into this mess? You gave birth to two sons and secured the position of Mrs. Lewis. No one else would dare take over. You can sleep soundly."
Aurora laughed through her tears and playfully swatted his hand away. "Having sons was traditionally considered to be influenced by the man, not the woman."
John grinned and pulled her close, kissing her forehead. "Alright darling. Now, get some sleep and rest up. You might have surgery tomorrow afternoon."
If the bleeding continued, Aurora would have to perform a C-section soon.
"Stay with me; I'm afraid of being alone," Aurora said softly. She had become very clingy. Every two hours, the doctor would come to check the fetal heart rate. If John wasn't there, she would be genuinely panic.
John assured, "Okay, I'll stay here."
Anyway, the bankruptcy couldn't be reversed, so he might as well stay with Aurora for the birth.
John never broke his promises to Aurora. He stayed in the hospital, not leaving her side.

Outside the operating room, John paced nervously, surrounded by friends and family, while more people kept showing up to check on Aurora.
Chris rolled in on his wheelchair, and even Daniel showed up unexpectedly.
Lucas dropped everything and rushed to the hospital. Lori and Ava hurried back from Aetheria. When they arrived, the surgery was still going on, and the hospital corridor was packed with people.
While they waited, Lloyd asked John, "John, with the Lewis Group going bankrupt, what's the plan for Aurora and the kids? When are you going to announce the bankruptcy officially?"
John said, "Don't worry, everything's sorted. After Aurora gives birth, you and Mom should leave Silvercrest City for a bit."
"Alright!" Lloyd nodded, trusting John's plan completely.
Lloyd didn't ask why the company went under. From the moment he handed it over to John, he decided to stay out of it, success or failure.
Just then, the operating room door swung open, and the doctor came out holding two newborns. He grinned and said, "Mr. Lewis, congrats! Two boys—one's 5.6 pounds, the other's 6.1 pounds. Both are healthy."
John stepped forward, his eyes lighting up as he looked at the babies. They were adorable, not wrinkled at all.
John's first thought was how tiny they were. Their hands and feet were so small. He hadn't realized how small and fragile babies could be until he saw these two.
The babies' eyes wandered around, and their tiny hands waved. Such simple movements could melt anyone's heart.
Helen and Lloyd were over the moon. The Lewis family had new members.
Summer and Loren were practically bouncing with excitement, clamoring to see the newborns. They eagerly demanded, "I want to see the babies!"
When Lori heard they were two boys, she immediately realized she had been tricked again. Aurora and John were too cunning. She was determined to watch John perform a striptease.
Helen and Lloyd held the two babies. John asked the doctor, "What about my wife? How is she?"
The doctor replied, "Mrs. Lewis is still getting stitched up. It'll take a while."
John breathed a sigh of relief, looked at his two newborn sons, then at Summer and Loren. Four sons.
John pulled out his phone and made a call. "My wife just gave birth to two more sons. Announce the bankruptcy."
Having four childs would indeed be a significant financial burden for an average family.
Lori had heard about the Lewis Group's situation, but from the way John said it, it almost sounded like the company went bankrupt because of the four sons.
