Chapter 95 Working Out Together
Gossip in the company spread like wildfire.
Wade had just praised her in the meeting, and immediately afterwards, people were saying he had a crush on her.
Aurora instinctively glanced at John's face, but with his mask on, she couldn't read his expression.
The voices outside continued.
"It's possible. Aurora is Mr. Robinson's goddaughter, and she's gorgeous. Maybe Vice President Lewis does like her."
"She's got some serious luck with guys. Someone has been sending her flowers every day recently, and now she's supposedly involved with Vice President Lewis. Tsk tsk."
"She's got skills, and that's for sure. How can a guy who sends flowers compare to our Vice President Lewis?"
"That's nothing, but you know what? Aurora had a boyfriend before. After joining the headquarters, she dumped him."
"No way. Really?"
"I have a friend in the subsidiary company who told me. Don't be fooled by Aurora's innocent appearance; she's actually quite two-faced."
A few people laughed. "No wonder she's so skilled. If she really gets together with Vice President Lewis, then other men don't stand a chance."
"Whoever makes a pretty face, men are suckers for it. Several guys in our department like her."
The more they talked, the more outrageous it got. Aurora had always thought she had a good relationship with her colleagues, but now she realized that beauty could be a curse.
The voices outside stopped, and the footsteps gradually faded away. Only then did Aurora realize she was still in John's arms.
"John."
Aurora looked up and met John's deep eyes, swallowing the rest of her words.
"Am I not more charming than Wade?" John snorted, raising his hand to touch Aurora's waist. "Aurora, I want to hide you away."
Aurora felt a tingling sensation on her waist and couldn't help but let out a moan. "Stop it."
Was John upset that he wasn't the protagonist in the rumors?
Of course, someone as smart as John could easily see through Wade's tricks.
In the narrow stall, Aurora felt a bit stifled, her cheeks flushed. She didn't know if it was from shyness or a fever.
Aurora felt alternately cold and hot, her body burning up. John didn't tease her any further, holding her as they took the elevator down to the underground parking lot and brought her back to the Meadow Brook villa.
Aurora took the fever medicine Gary gave her. However, even curled up in the quilt, she still felt cold and couldn't stop shivering.
John took off his clothes, lifted the blanket, and got in, holding Aurora in his arms. "Just sleep, then you'll be fine."
Aurora looked at John's solid, broad chest, blinking as she asked, "Are you sure you want me to sleep well like this?"
John's body had no excess fat, and every muscle was perfectly toned and powerful. Aurora was a normal woman with needs; if she didn't have a bit of dirty thoughts, it would be a waste of John's physique.
John smiled indulgently, kissed her on the forehead, and said in a husky voice, "We'll make love after your fever is gone."
Maybe it was because of the illness, but Aurora's psychological defenses had loosened, making her more feminine. She placed her hand on John's chest, stroking it purposefully with her eyes closed. "Feeling so good."
Aurora's hand became restless. Despite her body being weak from the fever and her head feeling heavy from the medicine, she just wanted to tease John.
John suddenly grabbed her handsy hand, kissed it in his palm, and said in a seductive voice, "If you can't sleep, we can do some exercises together."
John was already holding back a lot. This woman was restless and needed to be taught a lesson.
Aurora opened her eyes, and her lips were already locked in a passionate kiss...
They said alcohol gives courage, but so did a fever.
Usually cold and aloof, Aurora was now charming and shy like a little girl.
What man could resist that?
After a long time, Aurora finally fell into a deep sleep, exhausted. John kissed her on the cheek and then went to fetch water to personally clean her up.
After sweating from their "exercise," it was important to clean up to avoid worsening her cold.
After changing Aurora into dry clothes, John made a phone call. "Fire everyone in the secretary department."
After giving the order, John returned to bed, holding Aurora as they rested.
Helen, thinking she hadn't seen her son in a while, decided to visit.
The Meadow Brook villa was quiet. Gary was tending to herbs in the yard, with Tyler helping out.
Helen asked, "Tyler, where's John?"
"Mr. Lewis is sleeping." Tyler was about to add that he was sleeping with Aurora, but Helen had already rushed in.
"Sleeping in the daytime?"
"Ma'am, Mr. Lewis..." Tyler tried to warn her.
"Take these herbs to dry." Gary handed a bag of herbs to Tyler.
"Mr. Collins, what about the boss?"
"You can't help even if you go in." Gary, looking serious, seemed to be thinking of Tyler's benefit, but in reality, he wanted to see John in a tricky situation for some amusement. Otherwise, the Meadow Brook villa was too quiet.
Hearing this, Tyler didn't dare to go, gratefully saying, "Thank you, Mr. Collins, for the reminder."
Gary asked, "I told you to find a person, have you found them?"
"A bit. Summer left from Angel Baby Orphanage, so his brother must be there too. But the orphanage has been demolished, and Summer's brother also ran away, making it hard to find."
Tyler was frustrated. Finding someone without a name or photo was like walking blind.
Upstairs.
Helen burst into the room. "John, you're sleeping in the daytime..."
Before she could finish, she saw another person in the bed.
Helen was stunned. There was a woman in her son's bed.
Aurora's face was turned away from Helen, so she couldn't tell it was Aurora.
John gave her a look, and Helen quickly said, "John, you continue sleeping," then swiftly closed the door.
Standing at the door, Helen looked back and then smiled.
It seemed she was close to having a grandchild.
Helen was overjoyed and immediately called her brother, her voice low but unable to hide her excitement. "John has made progress. I'll soon have a grandchild."
Helen didn't stay to disturb them, leaving as quickly as she came.
Before leaving, she instructed Tyler, "Take good care of my son."
"Yes, ma'am."
Aurora slept until it was dark. Maybe it was the medicine, but she felt much better, her body no longer burning and not as uncomfortable.
Aurora opened her eyes, John's face close to hers. She was stunned for a moment, then memories from a few hours ago flooded her mind.
"Oh my, what have I done?" Aurora hid under the quilt in embarrassment.
Above her, John chuckled triumphantly. "This time, you were the one who initiated it. You have to take responsibility."
Aurora knew she had initiated it.
It was all because of his handsome appearance.
Aurora peeked out from the quilt, glaring at John. "It doesn't count. You took advantage of me."
John casually played with Aurora's hair. "So, Aurora means we should do it again? Huh?"
As he spoke, he prepared to take action.
