Chapter 21 Coward

Dean dragged Nicole outside, unable to bear the humiliation.

"I'm not leaving. I'm not going back." Nicole's struggle was futile.

Aurora watched with a smile as Nicole was taken away by Dean, feeling a sense of relief.

Knowing Dean, Nicole was in for a tough time once they got back.

With Nicole and Percy's affair exposed, Percy would lose interest in Nicole and even avoid her.

The affair was thrilling, but if it blew up, it would be a big problem.

Percy was a prominent figure who valued his reputation above all.

Making Nicole lose Percy as her support and fall out of favor with Dean was a double win.

This was Aurora's goal.

Strike at the snake's head.

With the matter settled, Aurora was about to leave. Just as she reached the corner, someone grabbed her wrist and pulled her into a nearby private room before she could see who it was.

"Aurora, you're playing with fire."

A man's cold voice sounded in her ear.

Aurora's heart tightened. Seeing who it was, she was very surprised. "Daniel, let go of me."

Aurora shook off Daniel angrily. "My business is none of your concern and has nothing to do with you."

"Do you know what you're doing, Aurora? You're not just offending Nicole, but also Percy."

"So what?" Aurora wasn't unafraid, but what good would fear do?

She hadn't provoked Percy and had tolerated Nicole many times, but they still wanted her dead.

If it weren't for John saving her last time, she would be a corpse by now.

"Aurora, you've changed." Daniel frowned, looking very disappointed. "Do you think you can take on the Harris family? They could crush you like an ant. I'm worried about you."

Aurora sneered. "Daniel, don't disgust me with your words, okay? You're just worried that if Percy and Nicole's affair is exposed, Nicole will fall out of favor, and Emily will lose her value, leaving no one to help you fight for the Taylor family inheritance. But you really do have some nerve, getting into this restaurant despite being blacklisted. Aren't you afraid of losing face when they throw you out?"

From Daniel's reaction, it was clear he already knew about Percy and Nicole's affair, and it must have been Emily who told him.

With a little thought, Aurora could understand why Daniel was so sure Emily could help him.

If Percy intervened, Daniel's position in the inheritance would be secure.

"The Taylor family isn't without power in Silvercrest City. I came with Terry Campbell; who would dare throw me out?" Daniel's face turned grim as he was exposed. "Aurora, you're indeed smart. I've told you, everything I do is for us, to give you a better life. Stop opposing Nicole and Emily because of me. Just bear with it a little longer, okay?"

Aurora laughed coldly. "Daniel, are you still dreaming? We have nothing to do with each other anymore. Why should I oppose them for you? You're not worth it."

Aurora didn't give Daniel any face and turned to open the door to leave.

"Aurora, stop right there." Daniel lost his patience and shouted sternly.

Aurora did stop, but not because of Daniel's words. She saw someone.

What a small world. Aurora didn't expect to run into Leo Robinson here.

Last time, to take Sophia away, Aurora had kicked him.

Seeing Aurora stop, Daniel thought she still had feelings for him and was just throwing a tantrum. He softened his tone. "Aurora, I know you still love me."

"Shut up." Aurora shot Daniel a cold look, trying to slip away before Leo noticed.

But it was too late.

Leo had already seen Aurora and stormed over angrily. "Aurora, stop right there."

Last time, he got kicked, hit a table, and ended up with a head injury and a mild concussion.

Leo had spent a week in the hospital and was then confined at home by his family. For some reason, they forbade him from seeking revenge on Aurora or provoking her, warning him to stay away from her.

He was only released today.

What a small world. Before he could find her, Aurora had come to him.

Leo had no idea that the Robinson family had already been warned by John.

After John encountered Aurora in the bar's back alley, he had Sam investigate what happened that night and had already cleaned up the mess for Aurora.

Otherwise, Aurora wouldn't be free today; the Robinson family would have come for her long ago. But Aurora didn't know this.

Leo, with his vengeful nature, had long forgotten his family's warnings.

"Let's see where you run this time." Leo stepped forward to grab Aurora.

Aurora reacted quickly, easily dodging. "What, want to get kicked again?"

Aurora glanced at Leo's lower body. Remembering the previous incident, Leo instinctively covered his vital parts, his face turning red with anger.

"You shameless woman, you better drink with me today and make me happy. Maybe then I'll let you go. Otherwise, I'll kill you." Leo, spoiled by his family, was arrogant and unruly.

He was also someone who always sought revenge.

Seeing that Aurora had a grudge with Leo, Daniel tried to play the hero in front of Aurora. "Mr. Robinson, I don't know how Aurora offended you, but for my sake, let it go. I'll drink with you and apologize on her behalf."

"Who do you think you are?" Leo dismissed Daniel entirely, not taking him seriously at all. "Oh, I remember now, you're that bastard of the Taylor family. A bastard wants to drink with me? Do you even deserve it?"

Hearing this, Aurora found it amusing and stayed silent, enjoying the show.

Leo's words made Daniel's face turn red with embarrassment. Being called a bastard was his biggest sore spot.

Daniel didn't expect Leo to give him no face at all and instead humiliate him.

The commotion attracted quite a few onlookers. Those who could enter here were all prominent figures, and Daniel felt like he had been slapped in the face, burning with shame.

His dignity was completely shattered.

Furious and humiliated, Daniel pointed at Leo. "You arrogant brat, acting all high and mighty because of your family's power. Say that again."

"So what?" Leo looked at Daniel with disdain. "I called you a bastard, so what? If you have the guts, hit me."

Leo provocatively leaned his face closer, smirking, each word meant to provoke Daniel.

"Leo." Daniel, enraged, grabbed Leo by the collar and raised his fist.

Before he could throw a punch, Leo started yelling, "Oh, the bastard of the Taylor family is hitting me! Everyone, look, the bastard is hitting me! Help me bear witness. I'll take this to Mr. Taylor."

Aurora found it hilarious, especially seeing Daniel's frustrated expression, angry but unable to act. Hearing Mr. Taylor's name, he didn't dare to hit Leo.

"Coward." Leo, having gained the upper hand, pushed Daniel away and sneered. "No skills, yet trying to play the hero."

Daniel was furious, his fists clenched, veins bulging on the back of his hand, his jaw tight. Despite Leo's provocation, he didn't dare say a word.

Daniel's position in the Taylor family was unstable, like walking on thin ice. If he offended Leo today, his days in the Taylor family would be even harder.

Aurora couldn't help but admire Daniel's expression of restraint.

There are people in this world, the more they can endure, the more dangerous and terrifying they are.

Leo sneered and stopped wasting words with Daniel. His target was Aurora.

"Beauty, come with me. Serve me well, and I might just marry you." Although Leo was furious about being kicked last time, he couldn't bear to really harm Aurora. Her face alone made him feel a bit tender.

"Marry me? I'm afraid you can't handle a few more kicks from me." Aurora smiled, unafraid of Leo. She had nothing to lose, unlike Daniel, who had many concerns.

"You shameless woman, refusing the easy way out and choosing the hard way instead." Leo said, reaching out to grab Aurora.

Aurora was ready to kick again when suddenly, Leo's shoulder was grabbed from behind.

It was none other than John.

Aurora was very surprised, forgetting to kick.

'Why is John here?' she wondered.

Leo turned around and saw a stranger. Not recognizing him, he treated him as an irrelevant person.

Leo laughed, "Oh, another busybody playing the hero. If you know what's good for you, get lost and don't interfere with my business."

Before he could finish, John kicked Leo several feet away.

The onlookers were stunned.

The air suddenly became quiet.

Daniel was also very shocked. He didn't dare to make a move, yet this man dared to hit Leo?

Seeing him act so boldly, Daniel couldn't help but feel a bit envious. Seeing Leo get hit, his anger subsided a bit, but thinking that this man was Aurora's boyfriend made him uncomfortable, a sense of hostility rising in his heart.

'He must be a bumpkin, probably unaware of Leo's identity, which is why he dared to act.'

Thinking this, Daniel felt balanced.

He wanted to see how this bumpkin would handle it when he offended the Robinson family.

Aurora was also dumbfounded. Although John's kick had her previous style, the opponent was Leo, the most pampered son and the only heir of the Robinson family. He was cherished by the family. This had fueled Leo's arrogance.

Now that John had hit Leo, he was bound to get into trouble.

Aurora wasn't afraid of trouble, but John couldn't afford it. She couldn't ruin John.

John was just an ordinary delivery guy; how could he possibly contend with the Robinson family?

Facing the Robinson family's retaliation, the consequences would be unimaginable.

"Why are you here? Leave quickly." Aurora, worried, tugged at John, trying to get him to leave.

"An old customer invited me for dinner. I heard the commotion and came to check." John remained calm, and Aurora didn't doubt him.

John wasn't entirely lying; it was half-true. He was indeed here for dinner and came over when he heard the noise.

Although the people here were prominent, they weren't at the top tier. John had always been elusive, and few had seen his true face, especially after he claimed to be "disfigured." Even before that, not many had direct contact with him.

Leo, a spoiled brat, had only heard of John's name but had never seen him in person.

Leo, enduring the pain, got up, his face twisted in agony, furious. "Where did this bumpkin come from? Do you know who I am? You're tired of living; I'll kill you."

John stood protectively in front of Aurora, his aura fully unleashed, his expression cold. "If you don't want to be castrated, get lost."

Leo, always arrogant, was intimidated for the first time. John's cold gaze made his arrogance wane, and even he found it unbelievable.

Realizing he had shown weakness to a bumpkin, Leo, furious, said, "This is the woman I fancy."

"Hmm?" John's eyebrows furrowed coldly, and he kicked Leo again, sending Leo even further this time.

Leo spat out a mouthful of blood.
