Chapter 164 Honey, Calm Down

Aurora pulled up to the hospital, where John and Todd were already hanging out.

They were deep in conversation with Gary when Summer spotted Aurora first. He got all excited and jumped up, "Mom... Aurora."

He was so used to calling her Aurora that switching it up felt weird, and he got a bit embarrassed.

That one word, "Mom," hit Aurora right in the feels. She wasn't usually the emotional type, but hearing Summer call her Mom made her heart swell with all that pent-up motherly love.

Seeing Summer awkwardly switch back to Aurora made her feel a bit guilty.

"Call me Mommy!" Aurora said, ruffling Summer's hair and clearing her throat. "From now on, kiddo, I'm your Mommy. It's my first time being a Mommy, and your first time being my son, so let's figure this out together."

Summer grinned, "Mommy, you're hilarious. I think being your son is gonna be awesome."

Aurora laughed too and gave him a playful tap on the back of his head. "I think it's pretty great too. I feel like a rockstar, having two sons who got my amazing genes. When Mommy takes you two out, we'll be the coolest."

Summer touched the back of his head and smiled like a little gentleman.

Seeing Summer's smile made Aurora's heart soar. "Summer, I just thought of a way to make some cash. You and your brother are so good-looking, you could totally outshine those international child stars. Walk around the streets, get discovered by a talent scout, and then you can make money to support the family, and I can just chill."

Summer laughed too, "Mommy, we'll take good care of you."

Aurora put on a mock sad face. "You grow up and stop listening to me, huh."

She knew Summer had chosen to join the Nightfall organization and couldn't easily change his mind. She worried he might get hurt but respected his choice.

After John and the others wrapped up their chat, they walked over to Aurora. John immediately noticed a thin scar on Aurora's neck, his eyes going all intense, and asked nervously, "How did you get hurt?"

One look and John could tell it was a knife wound.

Aurora touched her neck. It was from the fight with Fox from the Shadow of Darkness organization last night, where she got nicked by a military knife.

She had let her hair down to cover the wound, but John's sharp eyes still caught it.

Aurora shrugged and didn't hide it. "Ran into a tough chick last night and got this during the fight."

Even if she didn't say it, John would have pushed for details.

"Who?" John said angrily, "I'll take people to kill her right now."

Aurora smiled with a hint of sarcasm at John and asked, "Would you really be willing to kill her?"

"Of course, anyone who dares to hurt my woman is asking for it." John said, "Tell me, who is she?"

Aurora smirked and said sarcastically, "You should ask yourself, Mr. Lewis, how many romantic messes you owe. Now someone has come to threaten me to stay away from you."

Hearing this, John immediately explained, "Aurora, this must be a misunderstanding. I've never had any other woman besides you."

"Men's mouths are full of lies." Aurora snorted, not buying it at all, and looked at Todd, "Mr. Smith, tell me, how many girlfriends has John had before me?"

Todd just wanted to enjoy the drama and didn't expect to get dragged into it.

"Huh?" Todd pretended to be clueless, his eyes darting around. John shot him a deadly look, like he'd be in big trouble if he said the wrong thing.

Todd shivered and quickly said, "Ms. White is the first."

John had only ever acknowledged Aurora as his girlfriend, so technically, he wasn't lying.

John was pleased with Todd's answer and gave a slight smile.

Aurora then asked softly, "What about Jennifer?"

John had admitted before that Jennifer counted too.

John suddenly regretted it, wishing he hadn't mentioned Jennifer in front of Aurora.

Todd's eyes darted between Aurora and John, and he exaggeratedly took two steps back. Better not get caught in the crossfire.

Hearing Jennifer's name, John quickly clarified, "I just saw her as my sister, and we almost became a couple, but now there's only you, and there will only be you. My heart can't hold any other woman."

Aurora didn't want to keep bringing up exes. Every time John talked about Jennifer, he wavered, indicating she was very close to him—a friend, a sister, and a benefactor.

John had never said such cheesy words before.

Todd wanted to laugh but didn't dare, his shoulders shaking until he couldn't hold it in and laughed out loud. "Sorry, I couldn't help it," Todd said, covering his mouth. "Ms. White, don't make it hard for Boss. Before he met you, he was really dull. You're really the first girlfriend he truly acknowledged."

This made Aurora feel much better. She glanced at John and let it go, saying, "The person who came to me last night was from the Shadow of Darkness organization. John, maybe you unknowingly owe a romantic debt. I'm warning you, I won't pursue it this time, but if another pretty woman comes claiming to be your lover, I won't let you off."

Aurora wouldn't blame the women who came to trouble her. After all, the root of the problem was with John. As long as she kept John in line, there would be no rivals.

"The Shadow of Darkness organization?" John and Todd were both shocked.

Gary, who had been silent, said, "Our Nightfall and the Shadow of Darkness organization have always been arch-enemies."

Aurora frowned, finding it strange.

Todd, wanting to see more drama, asked, "Ms. White, the Shadow of Darkness organization has hundreds of female assassins. Do you know the name of the woman?"

"Fox."

Todd snapped his fingers and looked at John, "Boss, you're really lucky. It's rumored that Fox is the most beautiful female assassin in the organization."

Gary added, "Boss, next time we deal with them, you might have to sacrifice a bit and use your charm."

Todd said, "That's a good idea. With the boss's looks, all he needs to do is just stand there, and those female assassins would drool, so we could save some firepower."

John felt a bit embarrassed. What kind of friends were they?

John quickly stood next to Aurora and raised his hand to swear, "Aurora, I swear, I don't know this Fox."

John felt wronged. The battles between Nightfall and the Shadow of Darkness organization had been intense, and although things had calmed down a bit in the past two years, as the leader of Nightfall, he didn't need to deal with the Shadow of Darkness organization's assassins. The Shadow of Darkness organization had sent several assassins to kill him, but they hadn't even touched him. His secret guards had taken care of those assassins.

Aurora could tell which words were jokes and which were serious.

"No one can covet my man," she said dominantly. "From now on, wear a mask when you go out and stop attracting unwanted attention."

"I'll do whatever you say," John said, holding her hand. "Honey, calm down. I'll send someone to deal with it right away."

Both Todd and Gary were speechless.

Summer whistled. "Mommy, you're awesome."
