Chapter 45 Abandoning Husband and Child

Mommy?

These words were like a bomb, a sudden thunderclap, and the entire banquet hall fell silent.

Aurora looked down at the little boy hugging her legs. He was as delicate as a doll, truly beautiful.

The word "Mommy" brought back memories for Aurora, reminding her of the child who had died at birth without her ever seeing him.

It was Dean who had told her the child was dead.

Later, Nicole said the child wasn't dead.

Could this child really be her son?

Aurora stood there stiffly, and the little boy looked up and called out again, "Mommy, don't you want me and Daddy anymore? Why don't you want me? I miss you so much, Mommy."

As he spoke, the little boy began to cry, looking very heartbroken.

It was said that children couldn't lie, and what the child said seemed so real that everyone was stunned.

Aurora was the first to react, forcing a smile, and said, "Little boy, you've got the wrong person. I'm not your mommy."

"You are my mommy. Mommy, you don't want me anymore. Is it because I'm not good?" The little boy clung to Aurora's dress, refusing to let go. "I'll be good. Please don't leave me and Daddy."

Aurora was bewildered, but she knew this couldn't be simple.

Who exactly was this little boy?

And how did he get here?

Emily spoke up, "Aurora, it's come to this point. Even if Mom and I wanted to keep it from you, we can't anymore. This child is so pitiful. Can you really pretend not to know him?"

Nicole, realizing what was happening, chimed in, wiping her tears with a look of pity. "It's such a sin, Aurora. The child is innocent."

With Nicole and Emily working together, the entire banquet hall erupted in discussion.

"Where did this child come from? Why is he calling Miss White 'Mommy'?"

"Yeah, I never heard that Miss White got married."

"From what Mrs. White said, it sounds like Miss White had a chaotic personal life. Could it be she really has an illegitimate child?"

"No way, you can't tell. If that's true, the Robinson family wouldn't accept someone with such a scandalous past as their adopted daughter."

"Maybe Mrs. Robinson doesn't know either? The child looks about four or five years old. Who knows what she was like back then?"

Aurora felt a chill run through her. This trap set by Nicole and Emily was far more vicious than before.

If she handled this poorly, it could be disastrous.

When facing the previous incidents with the bracelet and the photos, Aurora had no fear because she knew those weren't true.

But this matter was real.

Five years ago, she had indeed lost her virginity.

And she had indeed given birth to a child.

Ashley whispered, "Aurora, what's going on?"

Ashley didn't know how to handle the situation either.

The commotion in the hall also caught the attention of John upstairs.

John's expression was cold, and Todd was trembling beside him. "Boss, this is definitely slander. There's no way Miss White could have had a child. That kid doesn't look like her at all."

John said nothing, his sharp gaze fixed on Aurora in the hall, taking in her tension and guilt.

No matter how well Aurora hid it, she couldn't escape John's eyes.

Kevin also said, "I'll have someone take the child away and find out what's going on."

"Wait," John raised his hand and said.

At this moment, a limping man hobbled into the banquet hall and walked straight towards Aurora.

"Aurora, you can be heartless to me, but you can't abandon our son. He's always wanted to find you," the man, who looked quite honest, called out to the little boy, "Come to Daddy, baby."

"No, I want Mommy," the little boy cried out loudly.

The man's appearance confirmed to Aurora that these two were definitely brought by Emily and Nicole.

Even though Aurora had no memory of the man's face from back then, his build was clearly wrong.

The man back then was much taller and more muscular.

Aurora quickly composed herself, a cold smile on her face. "Who sent you to slander me? I don't know you at all."

"Aurora, how can you say you don't know me? I'm Henry Perry. Five years ago, we were together and had a child. If it weren't for the fact that our child misses you so much and I don't have long to live, I wouldn't have brought him to find you and burden you."

Henry spoke with such conviction, not at all like he was lying, and coughed a few times emotionally. "I know I'm not worthy of you. I just hope that after I die, you can take care of our child."

Henry's words were deeply emotional, painting a picture of a great father and showing his humble side in front of Aurora, making it seem like he loved her deeply and didn't want to burden her.

If it weren't absolutely necessary, he wouldn't have come to find Aurora.

This also indirectly told everyone how heartless Aurora was, even to her own child.

The hall was abuzz with discussion, but Aurora remained calm.

She knew Emily and Nicole were just waiting to see her make a fool of herself.

Aurora sneered. "Just because someone randomly shows up claiming to be my child, that makes him my son? I, Aurora, am not married. Where would a child come from? Henry, right? Do you know how many years you can get for slander?"

"What do you mean, Aurora? Are you really going to be so ruthless and send me to jail?" Henry coughed emotionally. "How can you be so heartless? He is our son. We were together five years ago. This is the proof."

Henry suddenly took out a stack of photos and held them up for everyone to see. "I never lie. I just want Aurora to take care of our child. I don't have much time left. Would a dying man's words be false?"

The photos showed two people in bed together.

The man was Henry, and the woman looked like Aurora.

John's eyes narrowed upstairs.

These photos caused another uproar in the hall, but Aurora remained expressionless.

Aurora didn't know this man. How could there be photos of them together?

The little boy cried, sensibly supporting Henry. "Mommy, please don't send Daddy to jail. I'll be good. I won't look for you anymore."

With the photos as evidence and the little boy's pitiful appearance, the discussions grew louder.

"Who would've thought Miss White was like this? Look at how pitiful that man is, and the child, so endearing."

"Yeah, Miss White must have just come of age five years ago. Who knew she was already having kids?"

"Mrs. White said Miss White was willful in the White family. It seems to be true."

"Being a stepmother is hard. Poor Mrs. White."

Public opinion shifted quickly, and Nicole took the opportunity to act aggrieved. "Aurora, your father and I have covered for you for so long. Now that the child has come looking for you, we can't let you continue making mistakes."

Nicole dragged Dean into it, and everyone turned to him for confirmation.

Dean sighed, his face looking grim, and said nothing. He wasn't sure if this child was the one he had abandoned back then, but it was true that Aurora had given birth out of wedlock.

Dean's reaction made everyone more convinced that it was true.

Daniel found it hard to accept. When he was with Aurora, he hadn't even touched her finger, yet she had already had a child with someone else.

The anger of betrayal and deceit made Daniel's face look very grim.

Emily glanced at Daniel's expression, very satisfied, and smiled.

Seeing Aurora fall from grace, she felt immense satisfaction, unable to hide the glee in her eyes.

Nicole, seeing that the atmosphere was just right, decided to deliver the final blow to Aurora. "Aurora, even though Henry is disabled, you can't ignore your conscience. You can't be so selfish, especially when you have a child together."

Just as John was about to go downstairs, Aurora's firm voice rang out in the hall.

"This is pure fabrication." Aurora interrupted Nicole, decisively and calmly, and said to Ashley, "Godmother, please call the police and get me a computer."

"Okay." Ashley immediately called the police and had a servant bring a computer.
