Chapter 400 A Son Doesn't Have to Be Born by Oneself
Lori walked toward the beach, her eyes scanning the ocean.
The sound of the waves grew louder.
The tide was coming in.
The water had risen quite a bit.
Lori stood at the edge of the beach for a while, staring into the darkness until all she could hear was the sound of the waves.
Was it just her imagination?
Lori didn't dwell on it and headed back to her room.
The next day, the sun rose.
Outside the window, the sound of training could be heard.
She opened her eyes to see a group of young men jogging shirtless.
"Hot guys."
Lori dashed to the window, drooling and shyly muttering to herself, "A bunch of young studs, just my type. Wait for me to spoil you."
"Why don't you wipe your drool and stop fantasizing about them? Look at your age, still thinking about dating young men."
Todd's disdainful voice came from the next room.
Lori glared at him, "So it's okay for men to find young lovers, but not for me? As long as I have the skills, young guys will still flock to me."
Lori was indeed restless.
Todd chuckled with gentlemanly grace, "The people of Nightfall aren't as shameless as you."
With that, Todd closed the window and left the room.
It was breakfast time.
Summer and Loren had gone to training early, John was called away by Randy, and Aurora was busy feeding Trey and Jax, juggling everything.
Lori went to Aurora for food. "Aurora, where do we eat breakfast?"
"There's a cafeteria on the island. Ask Todd to take you; I'm busy." Aurora was feeding Trey.
In a blink, Jax suddenly rolled over, lifting his head and curiously looking around.
Seeing Aurora so busy, Lori remarked, "Having fewer kids leads to a happier life."
Aurora shot her a look, "Take Jax to wash his face and change his clothes. The formula is over there; feed him after he's cleaned up."
"I haven't even had breakfast yet."
Despite her words, Lori quickly changed Jax's clothes and washed his face.
"Aurora, I saw a bunch of young guys earlier, all strong and full of energy. Just looking at them makes me drool."
Aurora sighed, "Lori, can't you be more sensible? You fell for Allan's charm before and got into trouble. Haven't you learned your lesson? Ava's been with you for years, and I've never seen her act like this."
"Aurora, thanks for the reminder. I almost fell for it again. Aurora, be honest with me, is this John's scheme? Trying to lure me with handsome men?"
Aurora coughed awkwardly.
Lori slapped her thigh, "I knew it! So sneaky, catering to my tastes..."
Aurora was about to say something when Lori chuckled, "I like this plan. John really knows me well."
Aurora was genuinely taken aback.
John was indeed using a charm strategy, but the bait wasn't those young men; it was Todd.
Aurora wondered if she should ask John to change tactics.
Just then, Ava arrived. "Aurora, where do we eat?"
Everyone was looking for food early in the morning.
"Ava." Lori saw Ava and rushed over for a bear hug, "I almost thought I wouldn't see you last night."
"I heard. You swam twenty miles and almost got killed by the island's traps. Your impatience is to blame; I couldn't hold you back."
Ava had arrived at the island at dawn, escorted by John's men.
Aurora said, "I'll have Sam take you to the cafeteria."
Seeing Sam pass by the door, Aurora called out, "Sam."
"Mrs. Lewis." Sam entered.
Aurora said, "Take Lori and Ava to the cafeteria for breakfast. By the way, have you seen Jack? Find him and take him along too."
"Yes, Mrs. Lewis."
Sam led the way, with Ava and Lori following.
The island was indeed large, with many people training early in the morning.
On the way to the cafeteria, Lori saw Summer and Loren running with a group of kids.
These kids didn't seem very old.
"Summer, Loren!"
Lori waved excitedly.
Summer and Loren glanced over but continued running with the group.
Sam said, "They have to run around the island before they can rest. Loren just started training and probably won't last, maybe one or two miles at most."
Ava, with her cool demeanor, had already observed that Nightfall's training was militarized.
Lori noticed a child falling behind, "Sam, isn't that little girl too young?"
From a distance, Lori couldn't see the girl's face clearly.
The girl ran along the coastline, her small figure looking pitiful.
Summer occasionally glanced back, noticing the girl falling behind, and ran over to accompany her.
"Summer, I can't run anymore." Kawaii's legs were sore, and she plopped down, "My legs hurt."
Summer knelt down to massage Kawaii's legs, "I told you not to come, but you insisted. Go find Randy and rest."
"I want to be with you." Kawaii's big eyes fluttered like butterfly wings, incredibly beautiful.
Lori walked over, teasing, "Summer, already taking care of your future wife?"
"Summer, what's a wife?" Kawaii asked innocently.
Seeing Kawaii's face, Lori exclaimed, "You're so cute, so pretty, Kawaii."
Kawaii smiled sweetly, "Miss, how did you know my name is Kawaii?"
Lori was puzzled.
Someone actually named their child that?
"Your name is Kawaii? It suits you." Lori couldn't resist reaching out to touch Kawaii's face.
Summer blocked her, "Aunt Lori, don't touch her."
"Brat, so protective, just like your dad, always taking care of his wife."
Kawaii asked again, "What's a wife?"
Lori started to explain, "A wife is..."
"Aunt Lori, don't say anything." Summer interrupted, "Kawaii is still young. Don't corrupt her. Kawaii, let's go find Randy."
Summer picked up Kawaii and walked away. A six-year-old carrying a three-year-old, what a sight...
Lori fumed, "See that? Disrespecting elders, so ungrateful, it's infuriating."
Ava said, "That little girl is indeed very pretty. I've never seen such a beautiful child."
"I bet Summer is raising Kawaii as his future wife. Disrespecting elders, I'll find someone to pursue Kawaii."
Ava asked, "Who could you find? It's too late for you to have a son now."
Lori had a sudden idea, "Who said I need to have a son? My cousin has four sons. I'll encourage Loren to pursue Kawaii."
Ava was silent, as well as Sam.
What a scheme.
Aurora, unaware of Lori's plans for her son, finished feeding Trey and Jax. She stretched and saw John's computer on the table. She walked over and opened it.
Aurora wanted to check on Summer and Loren's training.
"Aurora."
Jack walked in, "Aurora, what are you looking at?"
"Why are you here? I told Sam to take you to the cafeteria for breakfast."
"Jenny took me earlier. Aurora, what are you looking at?" Jack leaned in and saw the computer displaying video of the entire island, showing everyone clearly.
It felt like everyone was being monitored.
Jack's expression was complex. "Aurora, can you see everything on the island?"
"Yes, everything is under surveillance." Aurora looked at Jack, "Anyone on this island, no matter who they are or what they do, can be seen clearly."
Jack stared at the computer. When he turned back, he saw Aurora watching him. He smiled, "Aurora, why are you staring at me?"
