Chapter 337: Acting

Aurora walked into the bathroom, deliberately staying there for a while, feeling anxious and worried.

Lori and Todd had both been captured. These people were hiding it from John, which likely meant they might secretly kill the two to avoid offending Nightfall.

From the conversation between Nick's two sons earlier, it was clear that the person named Willie was after Lori, and Todd was an "unexpected catch."

Aurora washed her hands, composed herself, and then walked out.

In the hallway, she ran into Nick's two sons again.

Aurora smiled and nodded at them, then walked towards the banquet hall.

The two followed her into the hall. Aurora walked to John's side, and the two stayed close to Nick. With them watching, Aurora couldn't reveal that Todd and Lori had been captured.

Aurora had to continue pretending she didn't know anything, even though she was extremely anxious inside. She managed to keep a calm on the outside

John held Aurora's hand and gently asked, "Why are your hands so cold?"

"Just feeling a little off, but it's no big deal," Aurora replied gently. "Honey, you go ahead and talk to Mr. Cooper. I'll stay right here with you."

To John, Nick was nothing compared to his wife.

"Mr. Cooper, my wife isn't feeling well. I'll take her back to the hotel," John said, preparing to leave with Aurora.

Nick stood up. "Old friend, if Mrs. Lewis isn't feeling well, why not take her upstairs to rest? I'll get a family doctor to check on her."

John was naturally reluctant to leave Aurora here. Before he could speak, Aurora smiled and cooed, "Honey, I'm really not feeling well. Let's take Mr. Cooper's advice and go upstairs to rest."

With Aurora's words, John didn't say anything more and just told Nick, "Thanks for the help."

At this moment, Nick's eldest son, Raymond, came over. Nick instructed, "Raymond, take Mr. and Mrs. Lewis to the guest room to rest."

"Yes, father." Raymond replied.

John and Aurora went to the guest room. Once Raymond left, Aurora locked the door.

"Aurora, are you feeling any better? Maybe you should lie down to rest." John had noticed something was off with Aurora earlier but hadn't asked because this was Nick's territory. The guest room might have cameras or bugs.

Better to be cautious.

"Still feeling very unwell," Aurora lay down on the bed. The two exchanged glances, and Aurora quickly understood. She deliberately groaned, "Honey, I feel awful, my heart is racing. Feel it if you don't believe me."

"Sweetheart, just lie back down," John hadn't had sex in a long time. Aurora's teasing was too much for him to handle.

While talking, John was also searching the room for bugs.

Sure enough, he found one under the bed.

The couple exchanged a look. Aurora lay back on the bed, and John noticed a glass of water on the nightstand. He signaled Aurora to write down what she wanted to say.

Aurora nodded, dipped her finger in the water, and wrote on the nightstand: [Lori and Todd have been captured.]

The water dried quickly, leaving no trace.

Upon learning they had been captured, John's brow furrowed. If they were both in Nick's hands, this was serious.

Willie was Nick's man.

John knew Nick was eavesdropping on their conversation. He signaled Aurora to make noise, while he shook the bed, making it creak.

Aurora understood what John was doing and blushed, occasionally letting out a few moans.

While shaking the bed, John also wrote with water: [Do you know where they are being held?]

This was the only way they could communicate.

Aurora shook her head, indicating she didn't know, and wrote: [Their target is Lori. Could this be related to Richard?]

After writing, Aurora cooperated with John, moaning a few more times and teasingly spoke, "Honey, you're so bad."

John was taken aback.

Aurora's voice was too seductive.

John had reason to suspect Aurora was doing it on purpose.

If they weren't on Nick's turf, he would definitely have sex with Aurora.

In the next room, Nick and his sons were listening to the sounds from the bug, feeling a bit awkward.

Raymond said, "Ronnie, I think you're being overly suspicious. Mrs. Lewis is just a shy beauty. Even if she heard something, she wouldn't understand what you were talking about."

Ronnie Cooper was the man who had previously discussed Lori and Todd's capture.

Nick agreed and asked Ronnie, "Where did Willie lock them up?"

"Starfall."

"This Willie, I sent him to capture one woman, and he caused so much trouble. John will eventually find out Todd is in our hands. Our family is already tense with Nightfall. If this blows up, it won't be easy to handle," Nick spoke, worried.

"Father, I asked Willie. No one else was present at the time. As long as we don't say anything and there's no evidence, who will know it was us?" Ronnie reassured him.

Raymond added, "Father, think of a way to keep John here for a few more days. That'll give Willie enough time to get rid of the bodies."

Nick pondered for a moment. "Has the Richard situation been resolved?"

"That old dog has been thrown out. He was too ungrateful, trying to negotiate with us," Raymond uttered angrily. "That old fool, encouraging his son to mess around with my daughter, he's asking for death."

Richard had miscalculated this time. He had no idea there were bugs in the guest room. Raymond overheard every word he said to Jack.

Both were thrown out, utterly humiliated.

Two hours later, John and Aurora finally came out of the guest room. Nick couldn't help but admire John's stamina, lasting two hours.

Young people indeed have good endurance.

But Nick was over sixty and couldn't keep up anymore.

"Mrs. Lewis, are you feeling better?" Nick asked with feigned concern.

Aurora rubbed her forehead. "Still a bit unwell, maybe just not used to the place yet."

"Stay a few more days, you'll get used to it," Nick replied warmly. "I've prepared another room for you two. Stay a few more days."

John and Aurora immediately understood; Nick wanted to keep them here.

At this moment, Sam hurried over. "Mr. Lewis, bad news. A batch of goods we sent out this morning caught fire."

John's face darkened. He told Nick, "Mr. Cooper, I have some matters to attend to. We'll be leaving now."

Ignoring Nick's attempts to persuade them to stay, John took Aurora and left directly, with no one daring to stop them.

Leaving the birthday banquet hall, John coldly instructed, "Sam, find out Todd and Lori's whereabouts in ten minutes."

"Aren't they at the hotel?" Sam was confused.

"They were captured by Willie."

"How did they end up in Willie's hands? Ms. Hernandez can handle herself pretty well..."

John sighed. "With Todd dragging her down, what do you expect?"

Naturally, both were locked in an iron cage.

Starfall.

In the large iron cage, Lori lay unconscious in Todd's arms.

Todd was filled with guilt. "You better not be hurt, you shrew. If something happens to you, I..."

Suddenly, Lori opened her eyes and sat up straight.

Todd let out an exaggerated scream, "Oh my God, you were playing dead?"
