Chapter 415 Black Hawk's Left Arm is Fake
Aurora hadn't heard the name Oren in ages.
She glanced at John beside her. His expression was serious, eyes fixed on Black Hawk's direction.
Black Hawk turned his wheelchair, facing away from Aurora. With his mask on, his expression was hidden.
"What woman?"
"A pregnant woman, pretty plain-looking. I had people keep an eye on Oren's place for a few days and found that every evening, Oren would take this pregnant woman for a walk by the river. He seems to do whatever she says."
"Pregnant woman?" Black Hawk scoffed. "I thought he was so devoted to Sandra. How long has it been, and he's already with another woman? He probably started seeing her before Sandra even died. Keep watching them, but don't let them know."
"Got it, Boss." The man hesitated before continuing, "Boss, are you really planning to keep Ms. White here? She's the wife of Nightfall's leader. Keeping her in Ironclad Union might be..."
"Jay, that's none of your business," Black Hawk said, irritation clear in his voice.
Jay Green's face showed a flash of hesitation, but he gathered his courage and asked, "Boss, are you really going to marry Ms. White? There's talk all over Ironclad Union."
"Jay," Black Hawk shouted angrily, "Who's spreading rumors? If anyone talks behind Ms. White's back again, they'll be kicked out of Ironclad Union. She's not someone you can gossip about."
"Boss," Jay said, surprised and confused. He couldn't understand Black Hawk's feelings towards Aurora.
"Take me back."
"Yes."
Jay pushed Black Hawk away.
After they left, Aurora turned to John. "John, what they said..."
John turned his head at the same time, their faces close. His lips brushed against Aurora's cheek, like a soft feather, tickling her.
Their eyes met, and Aurora's heart skipped a beat, reminiscent of the early days of their relationship.
Sweet, a soft spot in her heart.
Before John could speak, Aurora felt a surge of emotion. She pressed John against the wall, standing on tiptoe. "You started this!"
John remained silent.
Usually, John was the one to initiate. This time, Aurora kissed him, a bit hastily, accidentally biting his lip.
The taste of blood spread in their mouths. John sighed inwardly. "Let me take over."
Just as John was about to take control, Aurora pressed him back again, staring into his eyes. "No, you just stand there and enjoy."
John was shocked.
He turned his head away, but Aurora kissed him again. After a while, John managed to say, "I feel like I'm being kissed by a pig. You've been with me for so long, and your kissing skills haven't improved."
His words were like a cold shower.
Aurora felt defeated, glancing at John before turning away.
"I'll teach you next time."
John said, walking towards where Black Hawk had been, searching for something.
Aurora was curious. "What are you looking for?"
John didn't answer, instead asking, "When did you meet Black Hawk? He seems to treat you well."
Aurora couldn't understand John's mood, unpredictable like a woman with PMS, hard to please, hard to figure out.
Aurora quickly clarified, "I haven't been flirting with other men behind your back. I don't even know what Black Hawk looks like. I have no idea why he's nice to me."
John snorted sarcastically, reminiscent of Aurora's previous anger.
Aurora felt a chill down her spine, calling out sweetly, "Honey, darling, baby..."
"Calling me daddy won't help."
Aurora fell silent.
"John, you're quick to learn and use my words against me."
John crouched down, tapping the ground, listening.
"Ben, Ben."
Bob appeared again.
John stood up, telling Aurora, "You should go back."
"Aren't you here to take me away?" Aurora asked. "What are you looking for?"
"No rush!" John didn't explain. Bob's footsteps were getting closer, so Aurora had to leave.
Back in her room, Aurora felt a bit frustrated. Even seduction didn't work on John. Difficult.
Aurora tossed and turned in bed, soon falling asleep.
It rained in the middle of the night.
Aurora heard the rain outside, realizing she had forgotten to close the window. Rain and cold wind blew in. She got up to close the window and saw a light outside.
It was a flashlight.
From the silhouette, it looked like Bob.
Bob was sneaking towards the building. Aurora was curious but didn't go out to check.
She couldn't move around freely here.
The next day, Aurora found out something had happened.
Bob's body was found in the pool on the playground.
Such a handsome man, a life lost.
Aurora was shocked, running to the playground. Many people were gathered. Bob's body was retrieved and covered with a white cloth, and quickly taken away.
People whispered in the crowd.
"I heard Bob went to kill Black Hawk last night and got killed."
"How could such a timid person have the guts to kill Black Hawk?"
"He must have had ulterior motives."
The incident was surprising, and the reason seemed flimsy.
Aurora noticed John outside the crowd. She used her eyes to ask what was going on.
John shook his head, signaling her not to get involved.
The coach arrived, dispersing everyone. Jay approached Aurora. "Ms. White, Boss is waiting for you to join him for breakfast."
Hearing that Black Hawk wanted to see her again, Aurora felt a chill down her spine.
This time, breakfast was in the dining room, not her room.
When Aurora arrived, Black Hawk was indeed waiting.
He still wore a mask, dressed in black.
"Black Hawk, do you always wear a mask? Can't you show your face?"
"Ms. White, please sit and have breakfast." Black Hawk deflected. "These are your favorites."
Aurora had no appetite. She glanced coldly at the breakfast, asking, "How did Bob die?"
"Probably drowned. I had an autopsy done. He drowned. It rained last night, the pool water rose, and the ground was slippery. It's reasonable he fell in and drowned."
"I saw him last night. I saw him enter this building. Only you and I live here. Bob came for you, so you killed him."
"He's just an insignificant person. Dead is dead. Ms. White, don't let this affect your appetite."
Black Hawk's tone was indifferent, as if a life meant nothing.
"Black Hawk."
Aurora, angry, reached for Black Hawk's left arm. When she touched it, she was stunned.
Black Hawk's left arm was fake!
