Chapter 39 Interesting Little Brat

As soon as it was time to get off work, colleagues started leaving one after another.

Aurora was about to leave when Donna came over. "Aurora, let's go have dinner tonight."

"Sure." Aurora, being a foodie and grateful for Donna's support, offered, "My treat."

Donna didn't hesitate. "Alright!"

The two took the elevator downstairs together.

Donna had a car. "Aurora, wait here for a moment. I'll go get the car."

"Okay."

Aurora had just waited for a bit when a familiar car suddenly stopped by the roadside.

Inside was none other than Dean.

Aurora had a bad feeling.

Dean got out of the car with a grin. "Aurora, you just got off work? Come on, get in the car. I will take you out for dinner."

Aurora sarcastically replied, "Mr. White, you must have a poor memory. We've already severed our father-daughter relationship."

Dean, knowing he might face some resistance, was prepared for this.

"Aurora," Dean continued to smile. "there's no conflict between father and daughter that can't be resolved. No matter what, you have my blood running through your veins. You're my daughter. Come on, I will take you out for dinner and buy you some clothes for the banquet. My daughter can't be dressed shabbily."

Did he think a little kindness would move Aurora?

Aurora sneered. "Mr. White, no need to spend your money. The Robinson family has everything prepared."

Seeing Aurora's refusal, Dean sighed and played the family card. "Aurora, don't blame me. The company was your mom's hard work. When she passed away, I promised her I would take care of it. I can't let anything happen to the company. I hope you understand."

"Oh, I almost forgot. The company was Mom's. Among her belongings, there's a will that names me as the heir. Thank you, Mr. White, for managing it. Since you mentioned it, I'll take over the company, so you don't have to worry anymore."

Aurora was bluffing about the will, so she was just to make Dean back off.

She knew Dean too well.

As expected, Dean's expression darkened at the thought of handing over the company. "That's not possible, Aurora. You haven't managed a company before. It's okay if I work a bit harder."

Aurora scoffed, seeing Donna's car approaching. She threw out a final remark, "I hold grudges, Mr. White. It's best if you stay out of my sight. Otherwise, if I get upset and do something drastic, it will be awkward for both of us."

With that, Aurora got into Donna's car.

Donna asked, "Who was that?"

"Just someone asking for directions," Aurora replied, "Let's go."

Dean didn't dare provoke Aurora further and could only watch as she left.

After driving a bit, Aurora sent a message to John: [Having dinner with a colleague, I will be back later. No need to pick me up.]

Donna glanced over and teased. "Oh, reporting in, right?"

"Just so he doesn't worry," Aurora smiled, putting away her phone. She casually asked, "Donna, I have a friend who had a child before. Now she's dating a new guy who doesn't know about the child. She's torn about whether to tell him. She asked for my advice, but I'm not sure. What do you think?"

"Definitely don't tell him," Donna said, "Men care a lot about these things. Even if they say they don't mind, there will be a barrier. Men are smart. They might play around with such women, but they won't marry them."

Aurora's heart sank, and her palms started to sweat.

Donna didn't think much of it and asked, "Aurora, what kind of friend is this? My advice is not to tell. If the relationship isn't deep, it's better to break up early to avoid getting hurt."

"Just an ordinary friend," Aurora smiled calmly. "Alright, I'll tell her."

Meadowbrook Villa.

In Meadowbrook Villa, John was working out in the gym when he heard a message notification. He picked up his phone and glanced at it.

Todd, who was nearby, saw John smile unconsciously after reading the message and said enviously, "It's a message from Miss White, right? Boss, can't you consider our feelings and stop making us feel bad?"

"If you're not happy, go find someone yourself," John smirked.

Finding a woman was easy, but finding someone who touched your heart was much harder.

In this world, many people spent their whole lives without finding true love.

"It's not that easy," Todd sighed, sitting on the floor and drinking water. "By the way, Boss, I heard Nightfall recruited a new batch of people this year, and Randy Wright is personally training them? Isn't he retired? How did you get him to come out?"

"Personal charm."

John held a dart in his hand. As he finished speaking, he threw the dart, which flew like a sharp knife and hit the bullseye.

"Boss, can't you miss once? I..."

Before Todd could finish, another dart flew out and hit the eight-ring.

Todd was surprised. "You actually missed?"

No, the dart wasn't thrown by John.

Todd turned around and saw a little boy, about four or five years old, standing at the entrance. He was as delicate as a doll.

"Where did this kid come from? He's so pretty."

More importantly, the boy was holding a dart.

The dart that hit the eight-ring was thrown by the boy.

It was incredible that a kid could hit the eight-ring.

John also stared at the boy, a strange light flashing in his eyes.

The boy had the same eyes as John.

"Who are you?"

John thought, 'This was Meadowbrook Villa.'

'How could a child sneak in?'

The boy wasn't afraid of John at all. He took a few steps forward, raised his head, and stared at John. "My name is Summer. Randy said you're very skilled. I'll surpass you and be even better."

"Oh, this kid is so arrogant. Are you even weaned?" Todd laughed, teasing Summer.

Summer gave Todd a look that made his heart skip a beat. That look had a bit of John's intensity. For such a young child, his gaze was incredibly sharp.

"I'm not a kid. My name is Summer," Summer said seriously, his little face showing that he was angry.

He looked both cute and domineering.

John's lips curved into a smile. "Did Randy bring you here?"

"Summer, you ran off again. How could you come to the gym? Be careful, or I'll spank you."

An old man with white hair hurried in, grabbed Summer, and pretended to spank him a couple of times. Then he smiled at John. "This kid is rebellious and hard to manage."

Though he said that, his tone was full of affection and love.

The spanking was probably just brushing off some dust.

John looked at Summer. Despite being "spanked," Summer didn't show any signs of crying. His behavior and tone were more like an adult's than a child's.

John was intrigued and asked, "Randy, where did this kid come from?"

"I came across him," Randy said, "He insisted on coming with me today. Kids are curious and just want to explore."

Todd muttered, "Randy, you're kidnapping children."

Randy chuckled. "This kid is pitiful but highly talented. He's a good seedling, so I brought him along."

"Train him well," John said, his gaze falling on Summer. "I'll be waiting for you to surpass me."

Summer met John's eyes, his young face serious. "I definitely will."
